We liked this home very much. I can mention just two things that could be a problem for future guests. First, the stairway to the bedrrom is very steep with small steps. We could not have carried our luggage up that stairway. Second, all the information about the home (e.g., wifi) is in Dutch. Fortunately, we know some Dutch and could read it. The home is very well furnished and was perfectly clean. It is a short walk to the train station and to the town center — a perfect location.

I loved staying at Arjan & Leon's place, which used to be a hat shop and has TONS of character. It's in the perfect location to explore the center of Gouda on foot as you are right next to the old (& beautiful) city hall, the weekly cheese market which is held around it, as well as many sidewalk cafe's and restaurants. Both hosts are extremely friendly & very easy to communicate with, and I was able to meet Leon in person, which was really nice. I would love to stay again when I'm next in Gouda!

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our stay last minute due to family circumstances, so we can't assess the house ourselves, but we're sure it's a top stay. We can review the host Mariëlle and she gets 5 + + +++++ stars from us. She was very understanding of our situation and made us a very nice courtesy. We are so grateful to her!
