I stayed here to be in walking distance to a project nearby with my dog and another coworker in town for the same purpose. The apartment does have the usual basement feels but Maria made the space feel like a great place to come 'home' to. I brought my own blankets to cover furniture.. knowing my dog is also a full-time couch potato. The covered porch was really nice and I'm greatful for access to the shady yard.

Beautiful place. Clean and well equipped. In a beautiful area although a short drive to anywhere you are wanting to go do anything. The listing made us think this was possibly a shared property with the owner but we had the entire property to ourselves for our stay. Great stay in Martinsville.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Riverhouse in Bassett, Virginia. The home was cozy, quaint, and just right for our family getaway. We were in town for a graduation, and this spot provided the perfect place to relax and recharge in between events. The house was quiet, clean, and comfortable—everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Its location is also a bonus! It’s within walking distance of the Virginia Fire Museum and the old J.D. Bassett manufacturing plants, which feature some very cool dinosaur statues. There’s even a nearby river access point where the kids had a blast playing. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and family-friendly stay in the area!

We were in town for travel baseball and Lori’s place was perfect for our needs! The beds are very comfortable, the kitchenette provided the right amount of room to make sandwiches and pack the cooler, and the location to the ballpark was one mile. Lori communicated clearly and promptly. If we find ourselves in Martinsville again, we’ll be sure to check her availability….if she’ll have us, that is!
