Holiday rentals with lake access in Hernando

Joanna's place was incredibly clean, modest, and matched the photos exactly. It was notably personable on the inside and did not reek of the normal (cheap) mass produced airbnb sites that most of us are accustom to. The surrounding area was peaceful dare I say tranquil. We got to see her cows and there are a dozen cats roaming around the neighborhood who are all very friendly. The most notable and important comment is that check in was seamless and easy. We accidently arrived incredibly late (around 2:00am) and had no issue accessing the property. Joanna was very responsive, most times within minutes to answer questions or give recommendations. The town did seem a little quite and closed down kind of early, but we do recommend the nearby wine bar called Twysted Vine, they always have something going on Thursday-Sunday.

We loved sitting on the screened porch morning and night. Very peaceful. Very comfortable for family. Good communication during stay. Heat and AC worked well. Very convenient location to Inverness. We arrived at night it was a little tricky to find but that's what made it so private. Maybe a blue reflector on the mailbox would help! Rowboat, kayacks, canoes, horseshoes, fishing gear, plenty of games for adults and children. A great time.

The house had everything we required: very clean, comfortable beds, ample linens, well stocked kitchen, nice living room, morning coffee and evening sunsets on the deck, multiple places to eat, on the deck, under the house, or in the dining room. We had a great time catching fish on the fishing charter Pam recommended, as well as fishing in front of the house. There are many nice State Parks nearby. We used the available kayaks on the lake everyday. The airboat tour with Captain Bob located at the Blue Gator was a blast, we even saw some alligators. The 47 mile long, paved, Withlacoochee Recreational Trail, is a great place, we bicycled many 20+ mile rides with no issues. We found great live music a couple nights a short drive to Inverness. So, the house location is near an unlimited number of activities, or a nice, quiet, comfortable, private location for a relaxing vacation! Many thanks to Pam and Mark, great hosts!!!

The house is beautiful and spacious. The decoration and distribution of the areas is very beautiful and you can tell that it is well thought out. It has all the utensils you may need in the kitchen. The check-in was easy and everything was very clean. The pool is large and the view of the lake gives it a plus. The lakeside area is excellent for relaxing. The grill was in excellent condition. If you are looking for tranquillity, connecting with nature and spending a good weekend with your family is the perfect place. Pinay was a very good hostess, we would definitely come back.

We loved our stay! First time in the area and we hope to visit again! Marni’s place was super clean and very comfortable. The bed was awesome! We slept great. We enjoyed kayaking and visiting all the cool restaurants in Homosassa. It was a great vacay for my husband and myself.

Patty was great! The house had everything you could need and more, everything in the kitchen was well labeled and the house was extremely large and functional. We were there for a funeral service, as it was not a vacation so our experience was a little bit more limited. Patty was wonderful and extremely helpful, pleasant and responsive to any questions/issues that we encountered.

Will definitely be back! Loved spending time with my family on the Rainbow river. Ate dinner together with a beautiful view at a beautiful big wood table and then made smores at the fire pit. Great Memories were made.

My husband and I stayed at Matt's Place and it didn't disappoint. It is exactly what he described in the details. We had our morning coffee on the pier to watch the beautiful sunrise and listen to nature waking up. Enjoyed some jacuzzi time and some BBQ. The Hammocks are a nice touch. Somehow I was under the impression it had a king or queens size bed, but the house is establish with 2 bunkbeds, which was perfectly fine and different. The location is sure "Nature pure" your are close to grocery stores and restaurants but when on the property it feels you are far away from everything. Kitchen was organized and equipped enough. We forgot charcoal but went to the local Publix to grab a bag...it was a very nice experience. Unique with the amenities Matt Offers...It was a warm welcome and easy access. Quite and peaceful locale close to many natural and outdoor attractions. Perfect price for the area with plenty of amenities included. Host was great and very communicative. Bonus points for allowing my dog to join us on our trip

Cassie accommodated out early to check in because of our event. She met us onsite and was super helpful helping us locate the correct place. **The photos on the downstairs apartment rental are not of that actual unit. The downstairs apartment is the “Bridal Suite” and is equally as cute and fit our needs perfect. The decor is perfect. The surroundings are amazingly beautiful. The Oaks truly are Enchanting. Thankful for Kea for helping us with our wet concert clothes! 🌧️ We will be back. The campers and the A frame huts are magical. Thanks again.

Worth 1000 stars. Can I just say it’s refreshing to find an Airbnb host in this area? Who isn’t price gouging. Collins properties are super reasonably priced. They’re in a beautiful area, you have access to everything, it’s super private, the area is maintained well, so your pets and family will not be covered in ticks and eaten up by mosquitoes, And it’s priced wonderfully. I can’t say enough good things. Plus this host is very easy to work with and very proactive and responsive. The thing I will mention that apparently puts people off is the well water is kind of brown Ish when you take a shower or a bath, also in the sink, but it’s well water and it’s perfectly fine. I had no problems at all, and neither did my dogs. So please chill out on the well water and enjoy this beautiful gem of an Airbnb and this wonderful house. We are so grateful and I will definitely be returning.

What a perfect place! Lots of traffic in the area and some run down houses nearby, but if you want to kayak and be near the confluence of both rivers and have a wonderful back porch that shuts all that out right on the river, then this is not an issue. Also, the Blue Run and Withlacoochee bike trail are just a short, quiet neighborhood ride away with just a very, very short bridge crossing in traffic across from Swampy's restaurant. Brooke’s place is our go-to for our boating adventures. This is probably our fourth time here and we love it. Its our second home.

Terrific spot right on the river, around the corner from the kayak shop so you can paddle over and catch a shuttle up to the KP hole, paddle back down and end at the dock right by your unit. Fantastic time, the place was clean comfortable and well kept. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a riverfront view and easy paddling access, very nice spot. A little tip turn the air down a few hours before you go to sleep the top floor takes a little bit to cool down. Thanks Matt for our stay in your beautiful spot.

This place is truly a hidden gem. I will be staying here anytime I am in the area! Colin was excellent to work with, quick to respond and made the entire process effortless. Colin and his staff were extremely accommodating and no further than a call or message away the entire time. My weekend getaway was everything I hoped for and more thanks to Colin, the facility and the property. The home was cozy, well decorated, surprisingly even better than the pictures and fully stocked with anything we needed from toilet paper and trash bags to extra blankets and towels. The property was beautiful and very clean. The trees with Spanish moss set such a peaceful tone along with the fishing area at the water front that was just outside of our back door. The wildlife was fun to watch, various birds, squirrels and some pretty big bass. The place was so perfect we found no need to go out to eat and just cooked there. It felt like a private island full of character and natures beauty. 10 out of 10!

This was our second time renting this place and we just love it. Location is perfect, the price has been really good each time, and there's everything one needs. The house has a great lay out, with a large open living area with kitchen, dining area, and living room, and then the bedrooms are off to the sides. The large screened in area is cozy for hanging out and keeping all your things that don't need to come in the house. There are 5 single kayaks which are great and this time we needed a double kayak as well so we rented one from Easy Peasy Mobile Kayak Rental. Would definitely recommend reaching out to them if one needs additional kayaks at a fair price and they deliver and pick up. Sally is a fantastic host who has always been so responsive and we will definitely be coming back for a third time :)

Highly recommend the apartment, nice backyard directly at the water. Beautifully renovated bath- and bedrooms. Well-equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook your own meals. Hosts were reachable and very supportive. Perfect for a weekend-escape into the green!

My brother & I are in our 70s and stayed 5 nights for a fishing/canoeing getaway. This home was perfect for this. Beautiful location! Amazing view from the back. Nicely prepared home that has added touches. Very easy to find. An initial supply of bottled water was in the frig. The host was very responsive to any questions. If the online description had not warned about the sulfur smell of house water, the possibility of ants inside the home, and no dishwasher, this rating would be lower. The ants (2 to 3 types) in the guest bathroom are problematic, and this situation needs to be aggressively addressed. Overall, my brother & I had a wonderful time.

Peace, tranquility, privacy This place is a treasure. They are preserving some of the old Florida Charm. Not many places left like this Thank you And we plan on returning again soon

I don't know where to begin! This home is perfect for a getaway. It's cute, comfortable, in a nice quiet neighborhood and has the private dock. We were there almost two weeks and I could have stayed longer. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch and out on the dock to do some fishing and just take in the local nature. Julie made recommendations on things to do in the area. Inverness is a very nice little city with about anything you can think of to do, not to mention the things to do within 30-60 mins. My bottom line is I highly recommend staying here! I bet you'll feel just like we did when we left.. sad it was time to go. But we will be back! :) Five star host!

Our 2nd one month stay at this lovely cottage. It's an excellent location on a channel to access Lake Henderson. Perfect for bass fishing. The home is clean and comfortable. It's spacious and was perfect for 2 couples. The kitchen is organized and well stocked . We enjoyed the patio, particularly the newly installed gazebo which provided shade during sunny days. The view from the patio is relaxing and perfect for sunrises. Home is located in a very quiet neighborhood. It's an easy 3 mile ride down 44 sidewalk to get to the Withlachoochee Bike Trail. Spent many hours fishing. Every Monday we'd make the the 45 minute drive to the Webster Flea Market (excellent stop for produce) then stop for lunch at Big Bass Grill on Lake Panasoffkee. Easy drive to Winn Dixie. Would absoulutely stay again,

Karla's place is very nice. Very clean, the screened in porch was so nice and there are sliding glass doors where you can see the beauty outside. The lake, dock and everything outside were so beautiful. The thing I loved the most is it is so quiet there. We live on a noisy road so this was heaven. We met Karla as we were leaving, and she is so nice. Directions to the cottage were perfect, check in was easy. Very nice place when you have a dog as we were traveling with our Yorkie. You will love Karla's place!
