┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ ◆ Limited to one group per day/private ~ long-established ryokan and warehouse experience-style stay ◆ ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ ■ Location, History, Features ■ This is a long-established Japanese-style inn and restaurant (formerly the Kanaga Ryokan) in Mitsuhama, a port town in Matsuyama/Dogo, built 106 years ago and surrounded by four white-walled storehouses built in the Edo period and four gardens. It has been gradually renovated and revitalized (currently in the process of revitalization), with features such as white plastered earthen walls and natural Kenji-ji bamboo fences.Originally an old house opened as an almost 100% inbound accommodation.We are conducting a semi open-air bath in the interior of the warehouse and renovation work centered around the water. ■ Soothing moss garden ■ There are three moss gardens: the front garden, the middle garden, and the back garden. Well water flows everywhere, including through the water basin, the ladle, the deer stone, the stream between the stepping stones, and the pond. The pond is home to koi, goldfish, medaka, tanago, and river shrimp, and is a biotope space visited by wild birds. ■ Chick-in lounge (cafe/bar space), souvenir corner ■ You can drink authentic cocktails on the first floor of the main building.There is a souvenir corner with imported interior goods, accessories, natural stone, and other items from Japan, Bali, and other overseas locations.

This accommodation is limited to one group per day and allows you to enjoy the beauty of the many islands in the Seto Inland Sea and the sunset. Designed by the host, an architect who has won numerous awards overseas. Not extraordinary, but a "delicate life" with the theme of enriching everyday life. You can experience that kind of life here. There is a separate indoor bath from the Hinoki bath, but the view of Setouchi and the starry sky from the Goemon bath, heated with firewood, is the best. If you're lucky, you'll see artificial satellites and meteors. The water heated by firewood never gets cold. It warms you from the core of your body. The bedding is specially ordered from a long-established bedding manufacturer in Kyoto, and the bath invites you to relax your body and mind and sleep soundly. Most guests say they sleep well. During the day, you might want to spend some time in the lounge filled with houseplants. Enjoy the sunlight shining through the trees from the skylight. Here, the right answer is to do nothing and just be. How about emptying your mind? If you request at least a week before your stay, we can prepare local food from Oshima Island and seasonal food that we can get through a special route. If you wish, you can also dine at a counter made of pure cedar, similar to a traditional Japanese restaurant.

The ultimate hideaway to escape the noisy, busy city, and spend time quietly with family, loved ones, and close friends, just watching the sea. I created this accommodation because I wish there was a place like this. ☆This is not a hotel. We want you to think about how you want to spend your time. On sunny days, enjoy morning coffee on the large wooden deck. In the cold winter, warm up with a wood stove, and make and eat a delicious meal yourself. Play your favorite music, and read surrounded by books lining the walls. Take a walk to Gero Station while catching a glimpse of life in Gero. Fishing at sea, picking azaleas, bamboo shoots, and wild potatoes in the mountains, and eating them yourself. Long stays are recommended. Based at Shimonada Cabin, it is about an hour's drive to Matsuyama City. 2.5 hours to Shimanto River. 3 hours to Shikoku Karst. Shopping can be done in Iyo City or Nagahama Town, or you can buy from local fishmongers and greengrocers and cook for yourself. Of course, you can also eat at a nearby restaurant if you book. Anyway, I want you to relax at Shimonada Cabin. One night is too wasteful. I recommend at least 2 days. It is a place that can be enjoyed in good weather or bad.

The first floor is the living room and the second floor is the bedroom.Size: 108.5 ㎡ (the first floor is 85 ㎡, the second floor is 23.5 ㎡) If you need more than one bedroom, there are 2 Japanese-style rooms of 10 tatami mats (separate entrance, toilet, and rim side) in the back, so you can use a total of 3 bedrooms.Please let us know at the time of booking.A total space of 160 ㎡ is available for an additional 51.5 ㎡. For breakfast, although simple, we provide some eggs from coffee, bread, butter and oniva farm. It has a large garden and terrace where you can BBQ or relax in hammocks and umbrellas. The owner, who knows the area well, will provide activities such as playing in the river, canoeing, hunting, and secret river play spots, so you can have a slightly different stay. Whether you're with your family, fishing, traveling alone, or staying overnight, we can accommodate a wide range of requests. There is a small river and a nice old house of Japanese style next to the house .The tool of the barbecue is prepared. （Please bring an ignition agent and charcoal） it's comfortable in summer as the temperature is a few degrees lower than in the city. As of 2024, mobile phones have become much easier to connect to. （no wi-fi） The air conditioner was installed in 2022, but it is only on the first floor.Enjoy the natural air. There is a fan. Firewood isn't available from May as it will be warmer.

This house is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern making it convenient but also authentically Japanese. Mountains and ricefields are beside you, the Shimanto River can be heard. The ground floor is all yours. It's spacious with a large tatami sleeping room that can become two. The A/C is only in one room if the doors are closed. There is no central heating. Restaurants are within 10min or you can prepare local foods in your own equipped kitchen. It’s designed for long and short stays.
