House holiday rentals in Highlands

This was our fifth year staying at Elevacres. We have so enjoyed each visit. Kevin was, again, a great host. Thank you for everything. We will miss your home as our AVL rental, but can’t argue with you wanting that daily view back. Cheers!

Well, my husband and I have stayed there on and off for the last six months for local work, so we know the place well. Sadly, our project has come to an end, so our most recent stay will be our last for work. BUT, we love everything about Todd and Barbie and the house, and we will be back for fun hiking weekends. Hiking, waterfalls, everything nearby. It's the best place we've stayed in the area. Private, squeaky clean, big deck, large dining room table for big meals or spreading out the paperwork, GREAT internet connection and TV options. We'll definitely be back on our own - we feel so comfortable there in every way. I could not recommend any higher - would give it a "10" if I could. Todd and Barbie also bent over backwards to help us with a couple of last-minute schedule changes. Such honest and thoughtful hosts. Thanks Todd and Barbie for EVERYTHING over the last few months. We love you guys!

My family loved our stay at Wilstone! The home is lovely and pristine, with a warm and inviting family lodge feel. And the view is amazing! My teenage children enjoyed the downstairs rooms with private bathrooms and we all had fun playing pool. It was a fantastic set up for us! We’ve already agreed we want to go back!

We had a great week! Beautiful view, spacious condo and very comfortable! The kids loved the pool and lake access both within walking distance. We also enjoyed paddle boarding and nearby hikes! Definitely recommend- we will be back.

We loved Brevard! First time in this city and had a great time hiking all the trails within the resort. The hot tub was a nice ending to the day with beautiful sunsets. We thoroughly enjoyed the community and will be back!

Beautiful and comfortable cabin! Everything was well maintained, clean, and modern. Quick walk or drive to downtown Clayton which is ADORABLE - tons of cute shops and restaurants. The swim spa is awesome and the property is lovely. Located across the street from a church that plays bells on the hour which was a sweet, small-town touch. Giant shower in the main bathroom was fabulous and parking was a breeze. Would love to stay here again in the future!

This is such an amazing place and yes it is real! Incredible views and wonderful stunning home in the mountains. It really was a memory I'll have forever. Matt was so awesome, he helped us get settled in and the amenities were so awesome🙏. Stay here and prepare to be pampered all the way up in the mountains! ❤️

This place was our favorite place to stay in all our families vacations. The house was just beautiful. So open! My parents came and stayed for two nights, and they felt right at home. My children stayed downstairs, and loved the games! My husband and I loved the master and the master bathroom. The couch is super comfy! We used the hot tub every evening. There is a lot to do in the area, Sliding Rock is one of our favorite getaway excursions, about 45 minutes away. Coming back from 55 degrees cold water, the hot tub was wonderful! There is so much to say about this home, it was perfect for our family. The kitchen is top of the line, and laundry room is right off the kitchen, which makes it nice and convenient to wash clothes. Having a family of 6, laundry is a must! Also, the Sapphire Valley Resort amenities is GREAT for families! We rented a John boat to go fishing on Fairfield Lake, the view is stunning! We have fallen in love with this home and already booked again for next year!

Loved our weekend getaway in the Highlands. Was a short walk into town for coffee or shopping; the boys also loved fishing on the local pond!

We had an excellent weekend staying here! The views cannot be beat and the home itself was beautiful. Close enough to town to do exploring and close enough to mountains to do hikes! We really enjoyed the views from Lookout Trail out by Montreat. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a private environment with beautiful views! Thanks for a great stay.

We had a great time! Great hosts! Beautiful location. We didn’t use the hot tub but it would be fun to do that and have a fire in 1 of 5 fireplaces. The deck was a favorite spot and we saw a beautiful hawk fly by right in front of us. We enjoyed the close proximity to one of our favorite hiking areas and close proximity to Highlands and Clayton.

This home was such a delight! It was homey, comfortable and had all the comforts of home. It was a perfect gathering place for 3 couples. There was plenty of room to relax. Three king size bedrooms along with 3 baths were a plus! Being minutes from Highlands and great restaurants were a definite plus as well. We look forward to renting this home again in the future.

We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful home in the Highlands! A few girlfriends and I came up to celebrate a peaceful, coffee-filled, hiking weekend for my bachelorette trip, and it was absolutely perfect. The house is tucked up in the mountains with a stunning sunset view—we felt like we were in our own little world. We loved walking to the nearby waterfall (such a hidden gem!) and exploring the many incredible hikes and sites close by. During the trip, I visited Sunset Rock, Sunrise Rock, Dry Falls, Secret Falls, and Satulah Falls—all breathtaking and worth the adventure. Downtown Highlands was charming, with great coffee shops, plenty of dining options, and cute boutiques for shopping. One night we grilled dinner at the house, another we watched sunset from the deck, and we even drove to Sunset Rock one evening to soak it all in. No complaints whatsoever—it was the perfect weekend escape. I’d absolutely love to come back with family someday! Would recommend!

My family of four really enjoyed staying at Todd's. There was plenty of space inside and nature surrounding the house, and it was close enough to the things we wanted to explore in Highlands as well as Cashiers.

CONVENIENT FOR OUR VISIT WITH NEARBY IN LAWS. VERY NATURAL, PRIVATE AND SERENE. COMFORTABLE, CLEAN ,WELL FURNISHED. WE'D DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN IF IN THE AREA. ONE CAVEAT, MOST RESTAURANTS ARE CLOSED ON MONDAYS AND BRING YOUR OWN PROVISIONS.

Murray’s mountaintop getaway is a must! There is absolutely nothing negative I could say about this home or our experience from the moment we walked in to the unfortunate moment we had to leave. The hosts provided very clear instructions on how to get to the house and quick response and answers to any questions we had. After staying here I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else. While enjoying a fire we were pleasantly surprised to see a momma bear and her 2 cubs on the balcony one night. We look forward to returning to this little bit of heaven. Book it!

My family loved our stay on the river. Enjoyed tubing every afternoon. Hosts have thought of everything you might need for your stay plus extras. Photos can’t completely capture what a great find this place is. We would like to come back and stay again next year.

We enjoyed our stay at The Windmill Cottage, Marlene has done a great job of adding all the right touches to make it feel like home. The beds had linens that were hotel quality. Thank you for having us!

We had a great stay at Brittany’s house! It was very comfortable and clean with nice furnishings throughout. Everything worked perfectly and the kitchen and bathrooms are very well stocked. The house is in a great location, close to town. We especially liked the fire pit and large outdoor deck. Hope to be back again!

The sunsets from the porch are gorgeous. It is not only impressive that this home was built in just the perfect spot to catch an amazing sunset, but also nestled in the middle of Fontana Lake with a great view of the lake. I can’t say enough about this location! I’ve grown up coming to the Carolina’s and never knew about Fontana Lake. This cabin feels incredibly secluded and luxurious, but close enough to all the best adventure spots—Nantahala, Deep Creek, Smoky National Park, Fontana Lake access points, Appalachian Trail—you name it. There is even a great trailhead walking distance from the cabin that has great views of the lake, creeks, and challenging and diverse enough to walk 2-3x. We saw deer and wild turkey almost everyday and the wildflowers were in bloom all over. Additionally, the master bedroom has an amazing view from the bed. When I opened my eyes each morning, I had a view of the smokies that was mesmerizing. We all want to rent this cabin again!

Wow… just wow. What a wonderful girls weekend we had at Terry’s place! The four of us haven’t been in the same place for over a decade & we had such a relaxing time!! The views were breathtaking and Terry was the perfect host! He was so very responsive & the house met our every need and then some!! Would LOVE to come back & stay again sometime!

Beautiful home, that matched the pictures exactly. We were here just to unplug, as the weather was too cold to enjoy the lake, and the house was perfect for that. Gorgeous fireplaces, wonderful views, and a library of awesome books. My favorite part of the house were the windows that lined the entire top of the home. At night, we could see the stars while lying in bed. Very neat. I would definitely recommend this house.

Was absolutely beautiful inside and out. It was exactly as described. The kitchen had everything, including Tupperware. The boats, paddle boards and fishing gear was perfect and easy to access. We used the bbq, corn hole boards and hot tub. We loved it. Can’t wait to return.

Beautiful home! Cozy cabin in the Highlands woods & the dogs loved the side yard for running around. Super comfy bed too.
