We have renovated a good old Japanese house and prepared a space where you can stay comfortably while retaining the Japanese style. The spacious house is perfect for family vacations, trips with friends, and trips with your significant other. There is Uchimoku Onsen town nearby, where you can enjoy day trips and food tours, and it is also a great base for sightseeing in Aso, with good access to Mt. Aso and Mt. Daikanzan. Check-out is by 2 PM so you can enjoy a relaxing stay 😊 This is a room-only inn with renovated rooms in a traditional house on a property surrounded by trees. There are no buildings within sight, and you can enjoy the sound of the river, the chirping of birds, and a sense of oneness with nature. The tap water is also spring water (it has been tested and is safe to drink). Depending on the season, there are sometimes people who go up and down the river next to the inn to play in the river or head to Kappa Falls (150 m from the inn). If the weather is good, you can also enjoy a BBQ or a campfire (depending on the season and weather, we may ask you to refrain) with the ingredients you bring. (Please be careful when handling fire.) We renovated a 160-year-old traditional house in 2023. The total site is 700 tsubo (2300 m ²), and the building is 170 m ², making it very spacious. While it is an 8-minute drive to Kumamoto Castle, it is a cottage where you can relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. The garden is full of trees and flowers, including a large camphor tree that has been there for over 160 years, black pines, Japanese maples, and bamboo forests, so you can enjoy the trees and flowers in all seasons. The host lives in the adjacent building, so you can feel at home. Take a big, deep breath and refresh yourself from the heart. ●Here’s what you need to know · There are many mosquitoes and insects because there is a garden with many trees. If you don't like insects, it may be difficult to enjoy. The facility is located in a very quiet residential area. Please refrain from having loud conversations in the garden or on the deck after 8 pm.

One private holiday home at the foot of Mount Aso.

Main bedroom has 2 beds, a big closet, working space and another Japanese style room has two futons. The kitchen is fully equipped so that you can use it for a long stay without any inconvenience. There is a wood stove in the living room which is available in winter after receiving instructions from the host. The host lives next house, but of course will not disturb you unless guest's requests. Our 花hana is located at the foot of Mt. Aso, so we coexist with the wild animals and rich nature.

The house was built in 2005 but the first floor was partially renovated in October 2024. There is an outside deck that has panoramic ocean views. Bedding is one queen, one double and two single beds. There is also a futon mattress if needed (not super comfy). The house is in a residential area so refrain from making loud noise especially after dark. Being surrounded by nature near the ocean, you may occasionally encounter seasonal insects outdoors, particularly around lights at night.
