Perfect for couples. It is based in the lovely quiet village of Rangataua which is only a 5-minute drive to Ohakune township where there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops. The winter offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding, and summer offers lots of walks, mountain biking and fishing.

Our modern home is 15 minutes drive from Taupo but still feels like a secret hideaway. It is quiet and private with majestic views of Lake Taupo and Mount Ruapehu - the sunsets are stunning. This one bedroom apartment is on the ground floor of our family home (we live on the 2nd and 3rd floors). It is in the middle of Ohakune, halfway between Turoa Junction and Ohakune centre. They're a walks close by, Turoa is 20 minutes drive away and we have a list of walks that are nearby and suit a range of people. Parking is right in front of the apartment as per the photos in the listing. Our house manual also has a list of the best spots in Ohakune to check out.

A beautiful home with a great view of Ruapehu. Our family, a group of 6 adults felt really comfortable and warm. The fireplace and the heat pump kept us cosy. Plenty of chopped wood outside as well. The interiors were done amazingly and all cutleries and amenities were fully functional. Will definitely recommend, and will be keen to come back in the future.

Raylee’s home was truly exceptional. It was peaceful, beautifully designed, and filled with thoughtful touches that made our stay unforgettable. The views of Mt Ruapehu were stunning, especially from the hot tub, and every detail in the home reflected care and comfort. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped, the beds were luxuriously comfortable, and the space was spotless, warm, and welcoming. We loved the blend of modern convenience with nature’s beauty and the easy access to trails, town, and the mountain. Raylee was an outstanding host who was responsive, kind, and full of local insight. This was more than just accommodation. It was a deeply nourishing and restful experience. Every moment felt spacious and grounding and we left feeling so grateful. We would return in a heartbeat. Absolutely five stars in every way. Thank you Raylee for your aroha and generosity. Your place is a true gem.

Kylie and Dan’s Lochside Retreat was absolutely beautiful! It was cozy, tidy and a very inviting space to relax. It was just as described however more stunning in person! Kylie and Dan had left added touches with treats, a prepared fire and candles for the outside bath. A personalised note was left on arrival. I would 100% recommend. Thank you Kylie and Dan!

We felt right at home in the cottage. It was warm after we got the fire going which was nice. The kids’ beds were thoughfully made up prior to our arrival and there were a lot of extra blankets which was great- handy as it did get cold throughout the night. Kitchen came with pans, oil, salt and pepper which was perfect. Unfortunately we only caught a glimpse of the back yard mountain view which was highly raved about in the reviews as we were checking out as the weather was gloomy the whole stay. It would have been perfect with an afternoon barbe. Thanks for letting us stay in your home :)
