imagine yourself climbing up to the heights sleeping in the top of a three level rustic barn in the countryside. Savor your own views out through a large glass window over the fields towards Mount Te Aroha. Look down on the in-house raised vegeatable bed where Jen and Dewi grow all the greens and herbs for the house. Enjoy a suntrapped private lounge where no other guest can access, a place to unwind read and just be!!! share a candlelit dinner on the lawn, sit under the stars with firepit glow

The space
This is a truly unique experience sleeping up there in the third story. A set of wooden stairs leads to the top where it opens out with views over the fields towards Mount Te Aroha. Cast your eye down onto the raised "bitter green" bed and watch housewithnonails herbs grow. The biggest super kingsize bed lies under the eaves snug in the far end where layers of comfy blankets and pillows await you. cast your eye through the bannister to the ground floor below and out through the glass solarium. This is a space light filled and just so interesting.

Guest access
Guests staying in the loft share their own private lounge facility up in the heights with views over the fields. Its light filled and quiet, perfect for reading and day dreaming, Descend down into the shared mezzanine floor where you can watch TV and read magazines and just make conversation with others. Share the industrial styled bathroom with its gilded mirror and old claw bath alongside a rainfall shower.descend down to the ground floor to share the large open space light filled with views of the panoramic mountain range and just soak up the tranquilizing country scene of cows grazing in the fields around the house.

Other things to note
Housewithnonails specializes in providing an outdoor longtable feasting experience where roast meat and root veges are cooked over open embers and bitter green salads are picked fresh onsite. Gather around a firepit under the milky way and enjoy the tranquil countryside setting.

housewithnonails is centrally located in the north island, set in rural wardville, on a scenic ten minute drvie out of the small provincial town of Matamata made famous by the Hobbiton movie set. Access to Wairere waterfalls, the north islands tallest waterfall bushwalk is ten minutes away and the historic spa town Te Aroha featuring natural hot water tubs a further 20 minute. Day trips include Rotorua geyserlands, hamilton city gardens, Tauranga beaches and sea charter tours.

We are an adventurous couple who grab hold of life and create beautiful times together and for others. We have four grown up kids partners and grandchildren. We love to gather around a long table rustic feast of roast chicken root veg and salad out of the garden with apple pie by candlelight, in our beautiful handcrafted 3 story barn home fashioned after an ancient building method. Dewi is the "maker" and Jen creates an amazing interior within the majestic beam work. We love chatting about travel experiences in the world with guests, and jumping on u tube and sharing guests places of origin. There is always beautiful music playing in the background while people find their relaxing spot in the barn looking out over the fields to the mountains sipping wine. There are piles of magazines and books about our amazing Aotearoa feature in the mezzanine nook and Great WiFi. We are relaxed, love people, really helpful in sharing local itinaries and gems. Sharing our beautiful home with strangers is our passion and we always go that extra mile to make them feel special.
