Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Hout Bay

Hout bay was wonderful and the house had lovely beds and plenty of kitchen dishes as well as towels for the beach and even some sand toys. The place was cleaned meticulously and was relatively easy to access. They had a booklet of local recommendations that was helpful if a little overstuffed. The first two pages worked great. The washer and drier left something to be desired - the drier door wouldn’t stay shut and was finicky about turning on. The house could have used a few little touches like some laundry detergent, but Abigail was helpful.

I would highly recommend this property, Mark is so friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful with amazing views, it’s well equipped, and is very private. The only regret is we didn’t stay there longer.

Gorgeous private property set to a backdrop of mountains and a canopy of Trees. Compfy beds, well stocked kitchen, beautiful garden and great location. Tamsin was an excellent and very accommodating host. We thoroughly our stay here and highly recomend it!

We just left Cape Town and our stay at Gareth’s beautiful home overlooking the beach below. It was even better than the photos! We woke to an amazing view of the sun rise each morning! The beds are super comfy and the rooms bright and airy during the day. Such an incredible experience. We loved being south of downtown Cape Town with easier access to Boulders Beach and Cape of Good Hope. We could have enjoyed spending an entire week soaking it all in. We would recommend this home to anyone visiting. It was also super safe secluded on the hillside with a secure garage and gated pathway to the home and off the beaten path.

It is a second time we stayed at this specific place and will definitely return! It is an overwhelmingly positive experience in many-many ways.

We had a fantastic stay at Oliver's place. The house is very spacious, very well equipped and extremely pleasant inside and outside. The location is great, the view is awesome, it gives a feeling of remoteness though very well connected to everything. Perfect to work, to relax or to go hiking around. Oliver was always reachable and helpful. We loved the place and will definitely come back.

I had a fantastic three-day stay at Soughted! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how clean and well-kept everything was. The space was spotless, comfortable, and exactly as pictured - if not better in person. It’s clear that the host takes great pride in maintaining a welcoming and tidy environment. The location was also a huge plus—situated in a safe, and convenient area with easy access to shops, restaurants, and everything I needed during my stay. Great stay, only thing to watch out for is that a large vehicle/4x4 might not fit in the garage as I had a small car and it was a squeeze. Also Google maps has it marked across the street from where the house actually is.

The Lookout was awesome! It's really walkable to great restaurants and shops, the whole neighborhood is fun and vibrant, but didn't feel too touristy. The apartment was clean and beautiful, the views are amazing! it is on a busy street, so there is traffic noise, but that didn't bother us at all. I highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Cape Town. Plus Matt was super friendly and responsive, meeting us there despite our late arrival and giving us tons of great recommendations.

Our stay at Philipp’s place was fantastic. From the moment we booked, we could tell Philipp was an exceptional host. His communication and care were outstanding. When we arrived, he welcomed us personally, helped with our bags, and gave us a mini tour along with much-appreciated coffee recommendations. One detail I especially loved was the beautiful handbook he’s put together with thoughtful restaurant recommendations and personal notes. It was such a lovely touch and really shows how much care he puts into creating a wonderful experience for his guests. Once we settled in, I have to say: impressed is an understatement. I can be quite particular, and this was truly an excellent stay. The apartment is tastefully decorated, with high-quality appliances and thoughtful complimentary touches throughout. Stayed at Leo’s place for 4 nights. Timon was assisting us throughout. Very helpful. Always replied to our any questions at any time. We weren’t able to operate the heater, so he came down specially to show us and made a video also got an extra electric heater if we still can’t operate the manual one. Loved the place. It’s just perfect for 2 people and has everything you need for a comfortable stay with gorgeous views and near to all the restaurants and supermarkets We had a great time :)

5-star stay. Nothing could prepare me for the spectacular views of Table Mountain reserved just for us on the rooftop. Very central in a great location. Brandon went above and beyond to ensure that we had all that we needed and we were able to leave our luggage before flying out. I wish we could have booked more days to stay here!

A Gem in the Heart of Newlands ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a truly lovely one-night stay at this charming Newlands cottage. Wynand, the host, was absolutely delightful – warm, accommodating, and went the extra mile by allowing us a slightly later check-out, which was much appreciated. The room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and filled with thoughtful extras – granola, yoghurt, rusks, and a great coffee machine. These small touches made our stay feel extra welcoming and comfortable. The location couldn’t be better – just two minutes from Newlands Village with its quaint shops and eateries, and directly opposite SACS High School. It’s also a quick two-minute drive to the ever-popular Forries pub and restaurant, and access to the property was easy and secure, with safe parking inside. A great little spot for anyone visiting the area – we’ll definitely be back!

What a great spot with easy access to the beach or pools. In winter, you have the ever changing sea views but due to the recessed position less noise. It was a relaxing sanctuary after our work days and Liz was an attentive hostess, arranging an easier parking for our large car … For those who struggle with mobility there are steps to the well appointed unit.
