Bleabeck View - 3 storey house.

The cottage is very comfortable and in an ideal location to explore the surrounding countryside and within easy distance of other places like Barnard Castle, the Bowes Museum, Arab y Castle and Beamish living museum. The beds were comfortable, the water was always hot and there is lots of space in the open plan living space. The hot water never ran out even though there were 6 of us having showers every day. The view from the top bedroom was fantastic and well worth the two flights of stairs to get to it. I loved starting my day early in the morning reading by the window and soaking up the view over Harter Fell. I would love to return.

Caroline Cottage in Romaldkirk, Barnard Castle

Lovely tradistional cottage in very picturesque village. Comfortable, clean and quiet. The larger bedroom is very spacious, the twin room is a bit tighter but is perfectly fine. Nice to have the log burner for our winter stay. The village is lovely with a few countryside walks directly from the door, and plenty more a with a short drive. Barnard Castle is nice as well. The Rose and Crown pub/hotel defintely worth a mention - very good food.

We were absolutely delighted with our stay at Chapel House. The home was immaculate, full of charm, and beautifully furnished - everything you could ask for in a countryside retreat. Millie was a fantastic host - attentive, responsive, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. We wholeheartedly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable getaway.

Charming 18th Century cottage

HayleyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a lovely break at Emmanuelle's place. There was everything we needed & more for the perfect stay, the bottle of wine was a nice touch too. It is situated in a lovely peaceful area, with lots of beautiful scenic walks & plenty of things to see & do nearby. We were warmly greeted by a squirrel on the bird feeding station on arrival & took great pleasure in watching the varied species of birds feeding each day in the lovely private back garden. The pizza oven looked fab but we didn't get chance to use it on this occasion. Parking was easy enough, located opposite the property at The Fox & Hounds, a nice dog friendly pub. We would highly recommend this place & will definitely visit again in the future

Stunning views nr Lake District, spacious & snug

SarahRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
What an absolutely stunning location! We wanted a relaxing break and this is exactly what we got. Vicki and Tom have created something really special. The Hayloft is small yet had everything we needed for a family of 5. There were plenty of books and games to enjoy. Vicki greeted us at the door, making us feel welcome and had left us some homemade treats. The kids had a blast, exploring the grounds, playing on the trampoline and climbing the nearby hill to catch a glimpse of the fighter jets flying overhead. There was a lovely walk to the river and you can roam freely over the fields. We enjoyed watching the sheep and horses roam and also saw deer, rabbits, frogs and kestrels. The house has a view of the Settle-Carlisle railway so we enjoyed a bit of train spotting too. There was so much to soak up before we even thought about heading out. The nearby town of Kirkby Stephen had plenty of shops and we enjoyed a meal from The Mango Tree Indian. We would 100% recommend a stay here!
