Holiday rentals with a hot tub in Hvalfjarðarsveit

We really liked the place and the hot tub...Only problem...We had the window open the second night and there were so many midges coming in....... It has nothing to do with the house but might be good to know... Apart from that we had a very good time.

What a great place. We really enjoyed our stay here. Lots of room for everyone and such a great location - not far out of the city but very peaceful and beautiful. The favourite of the Air Bnb's we booked for our Iceland trip!

This home offered a cozy place to stay for our family of 9 as we visited the Golden Circle. The rural location was so peaceful. The kitchen was nice for meal preparation and the beds were very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this home for your stay!

Out of hundreds of rentals, this is one of my favorites. The home is only 15 minutes from a little town, but you feel like you are totally alone on the beautiful lake. We loved sitting in the hot tub and watching all the birds come and go. It’s incredibly well stocked- extra towels, great kitchen stuff, kayaks, fishing gear, laundry room, games closet, etc. There are luxuries like under floor heating, double black out curtains and several nice televisions. It kind of ruined the rest of our Iceland trip because no other home was nearly as great. Even with 4 kids, there was so much room and we all loved it.

A peaceful and private cabin surrounded by mountains and a lake. The house is beautiful and spacious. A well stocked kitchen made it easy to cook dinners and breakfast. Plenty of space for 5 adults and 1 child to spread out and relax. Thankful for such a kind, patient, responsive host!

We really enjoyed our stay here! Thanks to the helpful restaurant tips, we also had a very tasty pizza:-) We would come back here anytime!

Leszek was very supportive, the information about the house precise. The place is beautiful, cozy and cabin-like. The hot tub is very pleasant (the water smells like sulfur due to the geothermal area). we would definitely recommend this place Nd come back again!

What a wonderful place and in the perfect location for exploring the Golden Circle. The house was plenty big for the eight adults in our group, and we were all able to spread out, but also come together for meals and games. Although we didn’t use it, the hot tub was a great amenity. Our host was wonderful and very responsive when I contacted her with a question before booking and also when I needed to turn off the security system. We would highly recommend staying here.

Hrafn's home was a great place to stay for our first visit to Iceland. Centrally located in Reykjavik, just minutes from the downtown area.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this Airbnb along the Ring Road in Iceland! The location is nothing short of spectacular — surrounded by breathtaking landscapes that changed beautifully with the light throughout the day. Whether it was the snow-capped mountains, wide open skies, or distant waterfalls, every view from the property felt like a scene from a movie. The place itself was clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. After long days of exploring Iceland’s natural wonders, it was the perfect spot to relax and recharge. What truly made our experience special, though, was the host. They were incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure we had the best experience possible. Their local tips and stories added so much to our trip — we felt like guests, not just customers. Highly recommend staying here if you’re exploring Iceland via the Ring Road. It’s a peaceful retreat with world-class views and hospitality.

Good house for 9 people. Very clean

We absolutely loved every second of our stay at Eugenias beautiful home. From the gorgeous exterior to the perfect layout to the sauna/hottub/cold plunge with the babbling stream running alongside. Magical! The setting was incredibly stunning and was truly one of our favorite views in all of Western Iceland. Close enough to Reykjavik while still feeling a world away. How lucky we felt to call it home each day we returned from exploring. Traveling as a family of five with three young children (9, 7, 6) we were also grateful for the lovely amenities (legos!) that made our time at home extra enjoyable for the kids. Enjoying a coffee each morning with the incredible views of the snow capped mountains was such a treat as was a night of Northern Lights! We've traveled to many Airbnbs across the world and Eugenia tops the list as the most helpful, kind, thoughtful host we've encountered. Being able to stay in her home felt so authentically Iceland and made for the most memorable trip!

This house is amazing… it stood out among 3 airbnbs we used this trip… comfortable, well stocked (foosball, great kitchen amenities, quality towels linens and beds) and in an exquisite location on a small cliff with great panoramic views of far-off snow capped mountains. Hosts were responsive when we tripped the circuit breaker and helped us quickly get power back. I have literally zero complaints and so many things i lived about this house!!! Many thanks to these gracious hosts!

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful cabin! The space was spotless, peaceful, and surrounded by stunning natural scenery. It offered the perfect mix of seclusion and convenience—quiet and relaxing, yet close to great attractions and things to do in the area. The host was exceptionally accommodating and quick to respond to any questions. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to unwind in comfort and nature!

Very spacious home in a wonderful neighborhood surrounded by picturesque views! Only 20 mins from Reykjavik. Host was super helpful keeping in contact throughout our stay.

Mattias was an amazing host, he catered to my every needs and also gave me regular updates on weather conditions. He also gave me supermarket recommendations which were on the way from the airport, which was very helpful.

Birgir's cabin is very snug & warm -- festive with bright red lights -- everything in its nook -- and an amazing perch to see across the valley & short drive to the fjord. Our trip was at the end of December and most days/nights were snowy & with some rain -- very beautiful, but definitely take heed of Birgir's cautions about driving in such weather (which held true, even as we had rented a 4-wheel drive Jeep!) -- it is a steep hill up to the cabin, and we did get stuck on our 2nd to last day -- but fortunately the neighbors in the house down the way were incredibly helpful & we got the car out! We enjoyed exploring Akranes & Borganes. We also did see the northern lights on the one clear night -- beautiful to see the green shimmering curtain of light above the steppes/mountains across the valley. Birgir was both proactive and very responsive.

We had such a great time, the cabin exceeded expectations in every way! Lilja was very responsive and helpful for any questions we had. The most beautiful surroundings and so peaceful! We enjoyed the hot tub, dart board and pool table. We even got to see the auroras on 2 separate nights which was a real highlight! The kitchen is small with a small over, this didn’t matter for us but could be useful to know if you were not planning to go out much. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this cabin!!

Really comfortable cabin in an exceptional location with fantastic view. If you enjoy Scandinavian style comfort and solitude in a scenic lakeside setting then this is the place. Everything was as described, very easy to find with the precise satnav directions from the hosts. The sauna, hot tub and decking chairs overlooking the lake are a real plus. Ivar was a responsive host. Nearest town for shops and restaurants is approx 25 min drive. Be aware that the wooden steps leading down to the cabin from the parking place are quite steep and with no handrail.

Lilja and Úlfur were great hosts that opened up their wonderful home to us. The house itself is beautiful, well designed, and nicely appointed. There are panoramic views from the comfort of the couch which were beautiful. The house has a hot tub that sits on the wrap around deck which was a highlight. It was perfect for relaxing on a cold winter's night. We chose to stay at Lilja's place because it provides the privacy and seclusion in nature that we wanted, but that it was also close enough to Reykjavik for day trips. It has the perfect balance. Seeing the Northern Lights was a goal of our visit, and the location was plenty distant enough from the city lights to get a fantastic view when they did occur. During our stay, there was an issue that occurred which was out of the control of the owners, but Lilja and Úlfur made every effort to address the situation. It was clear that Lilja always cared for our family's happiness. We would love to stay again someday.

Jon was a very responsive host. We had a few questions and he immediately replied to all of them. The place was perfect for us. Spent the nights in the hot tub seeing the northern lights. Great central location to a lot of things.

Tumi was extremely helpful the entire experience, offering more than what was even offered on the listing. We seriously appreciate all the effort that was made to make our last day in Iceland as easy and stress free as possible. If I had to say one thing, it is that the location of this rental is a bit confusing to get to. Offering slightly better instructions would be extremely helpful, but overall was a perfect distance from the airport and offered everything needed for an affordable stay - plus a hot tub!
