Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Hvalfjörður

The renovated water tower is a lovely and clean home. There are large sliding doors on each floor that open up to give access to the outdoors or cool off the home. The main bathroom with a shower is located on the ground floor and comes with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There is also a hair dryer and many towels available. The bathroom on the second level was small and could be accessed through the main bedroom. The kitchen was bright and open. There was plenty of seating for the 4 of us, although the bench seat by the kitchen table could be thoroughly washed. Plenty of dishes and kitchen essentials. Washer and drying rack were a pleasant addition to the home and made traveling light easier. The rooms were cozy and the beds are comfortable. The stairs are steep but easy to navigate for our children (ages 7 and 9). The views from inside and from the deck are beautiful. The two birds nesting outside are quite friendly. Earlier guests named them Chuck and Larry.

Beautiful accommodation with a spectacular view! The accommodation is also very complete, such as shampoo, coffee, baking oil and herbs.

What a unique, wonderful place! We only had a one night here but it was perfect, and we could have happily stayed much longer. The space is open floor plan, very spacious, and full of fun "extras." Everything was clean, the blackout curtains were great (essential here in June), we were thankful for access to laundry, communication was quick and helpful, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well-supplied, and everything was as expected -- or better! Thanks so much for letting us stay here, Esther and family.

Our stay at Skeid2 was simply perfect—surrounded by stunning scenery and packed with everything you could possibly need for a cozy escape. Fantastic experience! One tiny mishap: we lost the main door key (oops!). But the hosts? Absolute legends. They handled it with such grace, didn’t even charge us, and just smiled it off. Talk about hospitality! It felt less like a rental and more like a warm welcome from old friends. Highly recommended if you're chasing peace, views, and good vibes.

The location of the house makes the views from the living room, the kitchen and bedrooms really spectacular and unforgettable. You love sitting and sipping morning coffee there, however there is so much to do and see in Iceland that you also don't want to sit there for too long :)) There is a nice Icelandic swimming pool, a few cute restaurants, fabulous walking paths and two supermarkets within a walking distance from the house. It's worth to mention that the house has all the equipment you need. Well, unless you need a washing machine or a dishwasher.. It's an old style house but makes really a pleasant stay.

A beautiful, peaceful setting, with stunning views. Kathrin and her husband let us know when the northern lights appeared one evening and helped us with the settings on our i-phone so we could take the best pictures. Very appreciative or their help. We highly recommend their quiet cottage.

Everything about our stay was perfect. The house is well stocked and met all our needs. We felt very well cared for, and couldn’t have loved more the sunsets and lambs playing. We hope to return someday, as it was a magnificent retreat.

Great location in Reykjavik. Walkable to most attractions near central Reykjavik. Parking garage around corner but is closed from Midnight to 7am. Only had an issue with those times once. They pull down steel doors so you can’t enter or exit. You could hear the neighbors but they offered ear plugs for you to pick u on 4th floor. Also had bags of ice for your use ( this was a great luxury in Iceland)! We also used the guest washer and dryer (nice perk). Would stay again!

Amazing location, very convenient to all the main locations and downtown Reykjavik. Very cute, well designed home, had all the amenities needed (beds were super comfortable and location was quiet). Perfect amount of space for two friends traveling together. Would definitely stay again. Host was responsive and super helpful. Can’t say enough nice things!

From the airport 10 minutes by car, the flat is ideal for the first accommodation in the evening, yet quiet. We had everything we needed there and it was just 300 metres on foot to a small, well-stocked supermarket

A great place to stay, close to the water, great views! Very convenient to do trips to the golden circle and south coast and around Reykjavik. Thordis was also an excellent host with very good communication before and during our stay with good local recommendations. Her place was also very comfortable, clean and made us feel right at home!

The place was perfect for a base camp for day trips around Reykjavik. very quiet neighborhood, street parking was always available close to the place. Anna was a great host and we enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I had a great stay here. The place was very comfortable and we appreciated having a washer and a well equipped kitchen. Being close to grocery stores was great and the area is very walkable. We did rent a car to go exploring and was able to park right in front of the airbnb. My favourite was the view of the mountain from the window! Thanks for a great stay :)

Beautiful apartment with an excellent location, we enjoyed a great space with comfortable beds. Silla is very kind and her husband too, we were able to greet them both. If you have the chance to stay in this apartment, don't think twice.

A well-equipped, spacious basement appartment in a quiet neighbourhood just outside Reykjavik. It is easy to reach by car, and there are supermarkets, gas stations and charging stations at a 5-minute drive distance. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. And, speaking as a cat lover: there are 2 gorgeous big cats walking around that will come and say hello.

This was a great place, quiet, comfortable and well appointed. Fredrik was very helpful, responding to my request promptly.

The Airbnb was easily accessible and well equipped with washing machine, dryer and fully equipped kitchen. There was also a designated parking spot for your vehicle. Magnus was responsive and extremely helpful in answering any queries. Would recommend this place

Beautiful apartment at a new development, easily reachable by car. We found everything we needed here as a couple visiting Iceland for the first time. The place is very clean and modern, and is a cosy and comfortable base while exploring the stunning country.

WOW! what an amazing place to stay!!!! I have endless things to say about our experience here. the views and surroundings were immaculate. so peaceful and such a wonderful way to wake up in the mornings. everything was so clean and the rooms / beds were so comfortable. the bonus was the little spa area, the facilities were so clean and amazing. plenty of room to change, bathroom, showers, sauna. and the outdoor waterfall hot tubs were perfect temperature while it was cold outside. I would 100% stay here again!

What an absolutely wonderful Airbnb experience. The apartment was beautiful and super-clean, and the view was stunning! We loved looking out the window at the ocean in the evenings, and we took a lovely walk along the seafront one morning. We took day trips to the Golden Circle and the Snaefellsnes peninsula, and we were an easy drive from Reykjavik. Best of all, Salvor Lilja and her husband were amazing hosts. We enjoyed a sunset soak in the hot tub, and they very kindly provided a selection of beverages and Icelandic treats. They also very thoughtfully left the apartment stocked with amenities like coffee, tea, milk, beer, wine and chocolates. We would highly recommend to anyone!
