Jean Caude and his wife were amazing. We got settled into the amazing room and then he invited us to join him for some wine in the yard. He gave us a tour of the grounds and was extremely friendly. I'm the morning we had breakfast in his 1650 home with baguettes and croissants, fruit home made jam and freshly squeezed orange juice. With beautiful music playing. This stay was a 10/10 and a high light of our holiday.

You enter the place , a real story that is told on the walls full of paintings, photos , unusual objects, maybe unruly and unrealistic . You enter a place of sincerity , emotions , great stories orchestrated by a relaxing and admiring couple by their hospitality, sharing and their sublime anecdotes. This place by its stones, its architecture, its lively collection, its nature in the image of the Brenne is to live for lovers of encounters. To live for sharing and poetry at the moment

Very successful stay because of the exceptional setting and the efficient and warm welcome. The setting of the"stable" is quirky and pleasant. Only one thing to improve: more transparency on the site when it comes to additional services in terms of meals. Otherwise, this stay in this peaceful retreat was ideal in every way.

We loved our stay at Richard's place. It was better than expected. Our kids were fascinated that we got to stay in a real castle. The rooms were comfortable, beautiful, clean, and with fresh flowers. The bathroom was amazing. Such a wonderful place with such attention to detail. Richard and his wife were warm and welcoming. The breakfast was included and was fresh and wonderful. Thank you again for a wonderful stay! Just an FYI: We had some difficulty finding the place with Apple Maps/GPS. It seems incorrect on the Air BNB link. However, the actual address listed is correct. We did not have service so luckily a nice gentleman in the village gave us directions. I would just recommend written directions on the AirBNB listing.

We had an amazing stay! So relaxing and beautiful, we wished we would have stayed more nights.

What a choice, the best choice anyone could make when wanting to discover the area, Ellen, Paul, the dogs and family could not of been better hosts and company. The Castle is perfection and we had a truly magical stay. We couldn’t recommend Ellen and her wonderful home enough. We will be coming back! We can’t wait! Thank you!

A lovely nights stay in this lovely chateau. Our children loved the pool and feeding the ducks. A beautiful place indeed with lots of rustic charm.

A beautiful castle in a pretty park with a body of water where one can admire swans and ducks. The place enjoys unparalleled calm and it is very relaxing. We were welcomed with great kindness by the host of the place who is, moreover, very attentive, available and attentive to his visitors. The bedrooms and other spaces are sparkling clean. The French breakfast is generous. Our stop was short but more than enjoyable, and if we were to stay around again, we would choose this castle again.

5 star peaceful french countryside retreat! I stayed with my husband for a week in June 2025. We wanted a relaxing break in the French countryside which the l’orangerie achieved completely. The chateau and its surroundings are stunning and traditionally French. The space itself is exactly as the pictures with everything you need to self cater. Jeanette and Zeus were the perfect hosts and made us feel at home and were always helpful and responsive. It is very apparent that Jeanette and Zeus put a lot of thought and care into the guest experience and displaying this beautiful property at its best. Everything was spotlessly clean also. We spent several lovely sunny days by the pool and sitting out in the garden next to the property. The chateau is also attached to a small farm with pigs, ducks, geese and chickens and we enjoyed in particular feeding the pigs everyday! Despite that, it’s also very quiet and peaceful. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and recommend it fully

We tried to come up with a bad review so we could keep the place our little secret... but we just really loved our stay with Keith and Anita. We went to stay at this lovely and charming chateau for a week and it was all that we hoped for. It is a great place to relax and unwind. We felt very welcome with such friendly hosts, who were always there to give tips for local restaurants, etc. We would love to come back there one day. Tip: we could recommend their homemade afternoon tea.

Stunning building in a beautiful gardens and a delightful, peaceful village. Valérie could not have been more helpful. It’s hard to describe how beautiful the grounds were. The photos don’t do it justice. And my kids loved the pool table in what has to be the coolest attic conversion in the Loire valley.
