Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Iron County

Highly recommend! The owners are amazing hosts, friendly and responsive. They do an amazing job in creating a clean, comfortable, quiet space to relax and get away. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms clean, the kitchen amenities exactly what we needed. We enjoyed being able to access our streaming services on the TV. And the ping pong table and other outdoor games in the garage were an added bonus and something we enjoyed as a family on the day we weren’t at the parks. It is a great location to access all the parks in the area. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

Very personable host. Met us shortly after arrival to make sure all was good. We very much enjoyed close easy access to the river and rock beach. House was very clean and comfortable. Kids loved the game room. Checked in on us several times and as we were checking out. Will definitely stay here again!

Tina's house is an awesome place to stay that has kept the rustic origins of the house with new furnishings and renovations. Great place to stay with a larger group too if needed. Loved being right in Ironton and very close to Shepherd Mountain. Would definitely recommend to others and would consider staying again!

Had a lovely stay at Brian’s cabin. The cabin was very clean and was able to comfortably host 12 guests. The beds were very comfortable. I don’t think the pictures really do it justice. The cabin is very close to river access. We enjoyed swimming, bonfire, and watching the stars on the sand bar. The entire property is magnificent for star watching. The backyard has an excellent fire pit as well. Brian provided plenty of firewood. Saw a few deer, turkey, and bald eagle. My brother in law saw a bobcat. Went kayaking twice down the river, suggest black river outfitters at horseshoe ranch. My favorite part was the quiet and soaking up the surrounding forest. Take advantage of not having WiFi- it helped us all reset. I will absolutely return to this property. Made a ton of family memories. Thanks for hosting us!

If you are looking for a home to stay in with river access, a yard to play in, and peaceful surroundings then this place is for you. It is clean, spacious, and has a wonderful floor plan. The kitchen with access to the back porch makes barbecuing a breeze. The tranquil surroundings allow you to relax and recharge

Lucy was very communicative abouts the house and activities and attractions nearby. She was very responsive. The house worked very well for our family of 5 with the three baths and two full showers. Nice deck off the back of the house with a couch, table and umbrella and gas grill. We really enjoyed the nice fire pit and big yard and my kids loved the cows right across the street!

Quiet peaceful stay. We were in town for a funeral so just needed a place to sleep - appreciate the quiet hours, this was definitely more comfortable than a hotel. Happily surprised to have a restaurant in the office just a short walk away for breakfast!

Peaceful, private and cozy. Tank-less hot water! Filtered water in the kitchen. Plenty of plates, cereal bowls and flatware/cutlery. Stacked washer dryer with decent capacity! Well supplied. If you are larger (in height or otherwise) you might find the bathroom and shower stall (as currently set) tight. I'm 5'6" and was a good fit. No place to hang hangers with longer items (shorter ok in laundry area) I'm not too tech savvy but I was able to watch Newhart and listen to music on the smart TV. I would highly recommend and would stay here again!

We stayed above the Pickle and Perk cafe. This was convenient for walking to our morning coffee and breakfast. At night we enjoyed the courtyard below us as well as the small balcony. Owners were very friendly and responsive to our needs but also respectful of our privacy. The place was very clean and the bedroom was lit with romantic twinkling lights.

5 stars for sure! Loved everything about this place. Sparkling clean, super comfy, all the extras. It was so fun to be above the cutest cafe and sit out and look over the courtyard. Excellent hosts, super friendly and they also happen to serve really great coffee! We loved the area—so nostalgic and beautiful. Can’t wait to come back again.

I've made many trips down there to camp and float since I was little. I needed somewhere less primitive to stay this time since I was visiting for a wedding. This was perfect! Stacy gave clear instructions on how to get inside before I arrived. The place was very clean and well kept. Bonus points for being so close to the river! Would definitely stay again!

An amazing place. We had both Shepherd's Place and Black River and could not have asked for more. Plenty of space and private bath for each bedroom was just awesome! Watched the eclipse outside and the privacy was incredible. No crowds! Thank you to our incredible host!
