A community of kind, nurturing staff and fellow guests. Location on the side of the hill was funky. Gorgeous view from my room but also the dining pavilion up top. Lots of stairs to climb, from ground level to the dining area. It was a great exercise. An excellent experience.

This is such a beautiful place. The surroundings are just amazing and it is very peaceful. There are so many places to explore on their property- and the views are wonderful. The beach is easy to walk to and the water was perfect for my kids. Carmen and Jose were very friendly and made a great dinner. The only thing I would change is that I wish they provided beach towels (they did tell us to bring some and so we bought some there). Otherwise- one of the best places I have stayed. The room was very simple but we didn't spend much time there. There is so much outdoor space to hang out in. We could also easily walk to the little town and had lunch and dinner there. Spent some time hiking the volcano (the trail is right outside the driveway!) and going to petroglyphs.

Absolutely wonderful! Super recommended for a relaxing stay. A unique hospitality! Just like at home. And the place is very beautiful with unparalleled views.

Lovely stay away from all the busy touristy places! If you need to find a true retreat from all that, this is your place! It is a little bit of a walk from the village, yet doable. Be mindful of the schedule of the water taxis that go in and out of Yelapa. Make sure to have enough pesos ahead of getting to Yelapa for the water taxis and other places that only take cash. We only traveled with backpacks and I would highly recommend doing the same so you don’t have to worry about heavy luggage to roll over rocks and steps.

Pura Vida Retreat Center is truly a hidden gem nestled in the charming town of Yelapa. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the serene atmosphere and welcoming staff. My room was not only immaculately clean but also beautifully designed, offering spaciousness and breathtaking views. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the Watsu healing session, which was nothing short of transformative. The staff's dedication to ensuring a memorable experience truly sets this retreat center apart. I can't wait to return to this absolute treasure of a place ,I will be hosting my own retreat here next year

Amazing location in the jungle next to the beach. Jose and staff are very friendly and provide tips and great food in their homemade kitchen, three times per day You can walk into town through the beach. Location is unmatched in Chacala

My experience at PV was incredible, and I will be back. There were a few bumps in the road upon arrival that did not match the listing description (mostly due to the Easter Holiday and giving staff well deserved time off), however the staff at PV were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to address this. If you aren’t used to nature, the outdoors, hiking/stairs I encourage you to come with an open mind. This is NOT a resort/hotel, but instead, an incredible experience. Note, the listing for room #4 indicates there is a hammock. There is not in this room, but there are in others. This is one of the reasons I chose this room, but the other hammocks on site made up for it.

Everything you are looking for in a cabin in the woods - Very quiet area, nice cabin, comfortable and equipped with fireplace, screens, children's games outside, fire pit area and can't miss the barbecue and its outdoor dining area. Very pleasant our stay.

If you're looking for a resort-like experience with added privacy, this is the perfect place. Nestled down a dirt road, the location feels secluded yet accessible—even in my Elantra, I had no trouble reaching it by taking it slow. The staff here are exceptional, and Beda, in particular, stood out for her incredible attentiveness and hospitality. From the moment I arrived, I felt cared for and welcomed. The food and drinks were top-notch. While the menu is limited, every dish was prepared to perfection, showcasing quality over quantity. With only a few rental units on-site, the atmosphere was peaceful. I had the property to myself during my stay, and the night staff went above and beyond, offering to prepare a custom meal or arrange delivery from town. The resident dogs were a delightful surprise—two of them stayed near my villa at night, adding a sense of safety and home. The sounds of frogs and crickets created a serene ambiance. My room was clean, and the bed was firm but comfortable

Very good stay, the place is very cool ..! The access is a dirt road take care of the only thing I could say, the hot water in the bathroom there is no ... in the hot season it passes but with cold if it needs to have hot water

This home was amazing! The experience staying here for couple nights was fabulous. My wife and I really got to disconnect get off our phones and just enjoy nature and listen to the birds and breeze. Easy to get to, easy check in. Hot was to bath was a plus. It has everything for you to cook or make a asado. Rubi the host went above and beyond leaving us wood to do a fire and was attentive the entire stay. I will be back soon! Thank you so much this trip was just perfect.

Beautiful cabin, very well distributed, everything super clean (house, bathrooms, bedrooms, sheets, etc.), beautiful view, very nice place and we will definitely return to this place.

The cabin was very quaint and to have a fire in the fire place added to the ambiance and helped on the chilly night. I enjoyed being able to go right to the island of Janitzio directly from my accomodations. I would happily return!

A place to disconnect from the outside world and enjoy the scenery and relax in the pool. Cozy rooms and everything is very clean.
