Nature eco lodge holiday rentals in Jamaica

This is a duplicate review for the two cabins we stayed in. I stayed at Zimbali Retreat for 2 nights with 3 family members. I recommend Zimbali as a unique opportunity for the traveller who wants to get away from the tourist scene and experience a taste of Jamaican culture. Mark, Alecia and the Zimbali family/team were very welcoming. The team includes several dogs that you may see around from time to time. Aside from barking to alert when someone is at the front door, they are very calm and add to the serenity of Zimbali. We stayed in Suites I and II which shares an adjoining balcony which is nice for a family. One of the two Suites had a twin bed as well as a double bed which would have made it convenient to add a third person to our room. The interior of our rooms were beautifully decorated with a mix of island decor and pieces by talented local artists. This theme carried through to the common areas as well. The mood is very relaxing and peaceful. There is a swimming pool and gift shop onsite. Aside from the activities that you book, there aren't a lot of other things to do onsite. Of the activities available onsite, we chose the Rasta hike with Fiyah and the farm to table cooking show with farm tour. The one mile Rasta hike was at times a little challenging (but doable) for the retirees amongst us as the uphill trek was muddy in some spots, however there are plenty of things to hold onto to aid with the hike. Also, we had tour guides (Buju and Indio) that gave support to make the hike a lot easier and fun. It was well worth it for the visit with Fiyah and the delicious meal he prepared for us. The farm to table cooking show includes a farm tour (Unfortunately, we couldn't take the farm tour due to rain.) & 5 course meal prepared with fresh ingredients from the farm served with wine. It was educational, and the food was amazing. My family members recommend both experiences. We plan to visit again the next time we are in Negril.

This is my second time staying on the Animal Farm and it did not disappoint! Geoffrey and his space are very hospitable and welcoming, making living in the countryside a breeze. Make sure to grab some foods on the way so that you can cook in the kitchen with a stellar view and don’t forget to bring your bird watchers because the amount of hummingbirds you’ll see is mind blowing. Nothing but amazing things to say about this paradise! I will absolutely be back!

Our stay to Jays was really nice, a perfect spot to climb blue mountains peak !! You're into nature and coffee farms. The room is small but really clean, so its perfect ! The bathroom is also rustic with cold water, but it doesn't matter and it's clean. There is also good wifi connection. And their little puppy is soooo cute! :)

Staying at Mark’s Place gave me a different perspective of the natural beauties of Jamaica. You can truly view and embrace it here at Mark’s place. The view and location away from the Kingston city life here in the hills is very relaxing. Bus and taxi service is the most common modes of transportation in Jamaica, having you’re own transportation or personal driver is even better. One of the best teachers in life is experiences.

Honestly had a great experience at Errol’s property. The guest house is exactly what was pictured. The breakfast was amazing. Take full advantage of that opportunity. Errol took the time to show us the grounds and even take some lovely pictures. The kindest host I’ve met so far.

Zimbali is a little off the beaten path from Negril but so worth your time. A quiet little collection of cabins tucked away in the fields of Jamaica with a blend of nature and the comforts of home all rolled into one. Mark was very easy-going and helpful throughout our stay, and the rest of the staff was extremely kind and a joy to talk to. I lost several hours chatting with the chef, Jeffrey, who prepared an incredible dinner and breakfast experience for me and my brother, all from foods locally sourced (and when I say "local", I mean he pointed out the farm he picked his food from for me and my brother to walk to, just a five minute walk away). Gorgeous scenery, a warm environment, and a quiet little village. Absolutely worth your time. I look forward to returning soon!

Of all the place I’ve stayed with Airbnb, this is by far the best! This place stood out due to the natural scenery. If u want a place that is secluded and away from all the exhaustion of the town, this is the place to be. Peaceful and relaxing! Not to mention the host is everything! He is very accommodating, very responsive and very welcoming! The property had its own coconut trees! We had so much coconut water to drink! Once we are staying in St. Ann, this is where we’ll be staying! Thanks for the experience John.

This is the real Jamaica! The whole experience felt so authentic, and couldn’t have been in a more amazing setting! It was one big family running the retreat and it really felt like they wanted to share the Jamaican lifestyle. The food was incredible all the time, and especially so for the cooking show! 5 courses of some of the most uniquely delicious food we’ve ever had! This is a must stay in Jamaica, and the Rasta experience is a must do during your stay. Mark and Alicia are wonderful people who really go out of their way to make sure your stay is one of a kind! Thank you and can’t wait to stay with you again!
