This is not often the kind of place to stay on Airbnb. A more than 130-year-old log cabin in the cultural heritage landscape of Suvanto takes its residents on a time journey to a 19th-century Ostrobothnian village. The destination is best suited for lovers of Lapland's nature, history and silence, who are not afraid of the dark in winter or mosquitoes in summer. Please note: there is no public transportation to the village, no toilet in the main building, nor a shower. There is a separate sauna building outside and a traditional outhouse behind the sauna.

Adorable luxury cottage for four on Suomutunturi

An all-new winter cottage built in a traditional log log frame in 2019. In the cottage, you can relax in a hotel-level bed looking at the fireplace. The small kitchen is superbly equipped. A great sauna heats up at the touch of a button. The cottage is located in the immediate vicinity of Suomutunturi, about 145 km from Rovaniemi Airport. In addition to skiing and skiing, the area also has excellent opportunities for outdoor activities and camping in the summer. The hotel rents skis and organises tours.

Our holiday home is situated in Kemijärvi 85 kms/ 53 miles north-east from Rovaniemi. Nice peaceful 71 m2 apartment close to the nature. You can rest hiking, biking, skiing, swimming, picking berries or mushrooms - whatever you like. Kemijärvi is a town of 6000 inhabitants in the middle of two lakes just above the polar circle. Sauna. There are good trails for crosscountry skiing almost from our front door. The distances to the downhill skiing areas: 45 kms to Suomu and 53 kms to Pyhä.

A small beach cottage near the center of Ranua, on its own peninsula right by the lake. The cottage is connected to a traditional Finnish wood sauna and a real shower in the dressing room attached to the sauna. The cottage is very traditional with a bit of modernization. From the deck, a great view of the lake! There is no indoor toilet in the cottage. Instead, there's a traditional Finnish outdoor shower in the yard. This offers a unique, authentic cabin experience near nature!

Suomutunturin hiihtokeskuksen läheisyydessä, mäntymetsän ympäröimänä. Hiihtolatu lähtee mökin vierestä. Läpi talon huokuu ihanasti metsä. Mökin vierestä lähtee hiihtoladut. Kemijärvi on 35 km. Rauhallinen paikka. Mökkiä remontoitu 2023. Kaikki sängyt ja petivaatteet uusittu.

The accommodation is as described, despite "grandma style" everything was very well maintained, tidy and clean, the house offers plenty of space and a lot of toys for children. There are new mattress toppers and new bedding, very warm and good. The kitchen has incredibly good facilities. We enjoyed the bathroom and sauna. We were very satisfied! Unfortunately, there is no WiFi.

We had a really good time at the Lapland Arctic Cabin. The Cabin is located in a beautiful area directly at a big lake. In winter it is really cosy and perfect for a couple. Everyone we came in contact with were really friendly and communication with Milla was easy. For us it made the Lapland experience perfect.
