Reikaku Yasaka was a building in ruins with the floor tilted by at least 30cm when we discovered this hidden jewel. The restoration was particularly difficult due to the state it was in but our craftsman’s determination to bring this Machiya back to its formal glory paid off for Reikaku Yasaka. When renovating the house, we tried our best to keep or reproduce traditional structures such as the pillars, walls, and dirt floor, while replacing the bathroom with new modern facilities. *Lodge tax will increase from 200p.p. to 400p.p. from 2026.3.1
