Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in Kansas

I grew up in Emporia and my parents lived six blocks from the Gufler Mansion for many years, and I walked by it often from their home to Emporia State University. I finally had a chance to stay in this beautiful house, and I'm so glad I did. Brad and Susan were the perfect hosts, kind and accommodating, as was their associate Selena. There was a large bridal shower happening when I arrived, and a group was setting up for a wedding that evening, but Brad still managed to make time to give several of us a tour of the house, from the third floor to the basement. My room was lovely, and I enjoyed a quiet evening reading a book from the library. Highly recommend a stay here, should you be lucky enough to find a room available. I can't wait to come back -- and I'll stay longer next time.

Lois is a gracious and kind hostess. She is very engaging and makes you feel like part of the family. I very much enjoyed my overnight in her beautiful surroundings.

I travel a ton and this is a unique experience! Lois was beyond friendly and made a lovely breakfast each morning. I looked forward to our morning chats. She is an immaculate housekeeper and everything was spotless and well maintained. It is a shared space (private room / shared bathroom and living quarters), which was new to me… but that is in keeping with the 1900s vibe Lois is going for. It was a pleasant experience and glad I tried something new!

Chris was so welcoming and accommodating!! I had a long drive and tough move all the way from Phoenix to Kansas City. I greatly appreciated the reprieve! Chris has done an amazing job making the hotel a really special place to stay and the downstairs bar is lovely!

This historic gem is ideally located and is a must-stay for visitors to the town. When I needed an urgent overnight stay in Emporia, the hosts graciously accommodated me on short notice. The mansion is beautiful, and the hosts are both caring and helpful. I highly recommend this place.

This is a very wonderful unique property. I have never had the chance to stay in a piece of history like this before and we had a great time exploring the whole house. They give you flashlights to play hide and seek in the dark and chocolates in each room as a little treat on arrival. Beds were standard but still comfortable and there were speakers we hooked our phones up to and played music while we sat and enjoyed our evening in the solarium room. So many cool hang out spots in this house. Great for a weekend couples trip. We didn’t have to chafe with any other guests on this particular weekend but I would be more than comfortable sharing since the space is so well set up to have lots of private retreats for people to go to talk. Breakfast as amazing in the morning and they were so friendly and generous with everything! We are already planning to go back!

This is our second stay with Lois. She is very friendly and responsive. We have always enjoyed our conversations with her. She arranges to meet you at check in and go over the expectations of your stay. She is very proud of her "doll house" as she calls it. It is a beautiful Victorian home. The house and bedroom accommodations are very comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet, even though the hospital is across the street. Downtown Salina is within walking distance for numerous restaurants and the movie theater. We definitely will make arrangements to stay with Lois in the future when traveling through Kansas. We consider Lois a great friend.

Next time I heard you have underground tunnels I need to see. other guests were very nice.

Had a fantastic three-night stay at the Magnolia Blossom. The home is beautiful, even better than in the photos. It's all very comfortable and quiet, with amazing architecture and beautifully decorated and curated. Hosts Jenny and Bob are friendly and welcoming, and the delicious breakfast is enjoyed in a charming historic dining room, as described. It is located just a few blocks of easy walk to downtown, but on a quiet residential street. Perfect, clear communication beforehand and upon arrival. A great place to stay, and will definitely be returning.

I had a wonderful experience from start to finish. A beautiful house and loved the way the sunflower room was set up. The bed was extremely comfortable! I would definitely stay here again. My host Sharon was very nice and served a delicious breakfast. The house was spotless and well maintained.

Cat's place was nice and quiet. the bed was comfortable and both the room and bathroom were clean and cozy. Cat was very nice and helpful. I would stay there again in the future!

Keith and Sherri’s bed and breakfast was worth every penny spent and more! It was very clean and quiet, and Keith and Sherri are excellent hosts. I felt right at home, and Sherri went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable, from taking me to Walmart when I didn’t have a car, to sharing her yummy baked goods whenever she was whipping something up. I consider them my Kansas grandparents now. I cannot recommend this bed and breakfast enough!!

Was great for an anniversary getaway. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The house is historic with plenty of period-piece furniture, local history books, and photos of the original owners. Comfortable and nostalgic. Breakfast was good and the interaction with staff was great. Very friendly. House is in walking distance to restaurants, coffee shop, bakery, and FHSU campus.

Tim was a great host! Best breakfast in Manhattan! Location was perfect and he had so much knowledge about the local area and provide sightseeing and restaurant recommendations. Will definitely stay with Tim again.

Loved the place! It was such a cozy vibe, and we absolutely loved the little town with the brick road. We ate the CJ’s bar and enjoyed the bath tub. The breakfast in the morning was delicious as well! Excellent cook.

Paula was an incredible host! She was personable and very friendly throughout all of our communications. Upon arrival, we received a full tour of the house. Paula answered all of our questions about the decor and history of the place. This is not your average bed and breakfast! The decor was out of this world, and I felt like I had entered another time period. We felt like royalty! To top it all off, the breakfast was magnificent, and it was fun to sit around and visit. I would fully recommend booking at Edwards Manor House, and I cannot wait until our next stay!

This was a wonderful place to stay! We mainly came to see the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve which was only a short drive away. The home is large and comfortable with several guest rooms. Each has a private bathroom and the shared spaces can be used by anyone, though we were the only guests this past weekend and had the place to ourselves downstairs. Alice and her daughter cooked us breakfast both mornings and were very kind and offered us suggestions of places to check out nearby. There was a large fridge with ice and assorted beverages you could have for .50 each if desired. There was a large living space with a TV, games, and plenty of seating. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable with plenty of linens. The biggest draw is the outdoors...it's outside of town with a small private lake on the property. There is outdoor seating and a large enclosed porch as well. They have a grill and picnic tables and also have boats for fishing. We loved coming back to see the sunset!
