Family-friendly holiday rentals in Kei Mouth

It felt like we had just stepped into a 5 star resort.Every room had two pieces of ferrero rocher chocolates as a welcome gift,this was a nice touch especially for the kids.The master bedroom had a bottle of Sherry which was also a delight for us grown folks.The house is an entertainment haven for both kids and adults.We literally spent every passing hour on that sparkling pool.We made such great memories there as a family.There is absolutely nothing I can fault this house on. The host was gracious and was available whenever we needed assistance.This house is definately one of East London's gems.

Our family was attending a nieces wedding in Chintsa so this Airbnb was perfect for a weekend of reunions and special moments making memories and what a gorgeous spot it is! Waking up to gorgeous sunsets, having Easter egg hunts (in June) in the garden, and delicious braais and meals prepared in a fantastic kitchen. This house just kept delivering! Thank you for the honour of letting us stay in your gorgeous Airbnb! Oh and did I mention the fantastic Pheliswa who arrived on a Sunday and public holiday and cleaned and serviced the house! What a spoil while on holiday! Thank you for thinking of everything!

Beautiful house in a convenient location, awesome pool room with a nice big TV and home theatre. Lovely pool to cool off in on hot days. Very private with nice views of the river. Air conditioning in almost every room, very nice for dealing with the heat and humidity.

Clean and extremely well appointed. Amazing view of the ocean from the large patio. Plenty of cupboard space, two fridges and too many thoughtful touches to mention! Our doggies enjoyed the secure yard thoroughly. My young nieces also enjoyed the horse ride and educational talk on horses offered by Tom. Barbara was delightful and went out of her way to make our stay perfect. We come to the area often and will keep Guava Tree at the top of our list of places to stay!

All of the other reviews have praised the location, and this one does too. But this review also praises the house: it is super-practical for a beach-front home - solidly and comfortably furnished with nothing finicky to fuss over. This meant we could kick off our shoes and relax! A high-five to Monica (the lady who cleans the house) because she magically made the beach sand that we and our dogs brought in disappear …

Great place to stay especially if you are a large family or group. Views are spectacular. Love that the rooms are accessed via the balcony. One of the most fully stocked houses I've ever stayed in, from the books to the kitchen. Owners made us feel welcome and was in constant communication to ensure that our stay was comfortable.

A beautiful little home in a quiet and peaceful town. We had the most relaxing holiday. The house was spacious and had everything that you needed to get some good R&R with family and friends.

Grace is a premium host. We booked and checked in at short notice with no issues, she was always responsive and proactive with details on the load shedding schedule and other details to make our stay easier. As for the accommodation there were lots of things that helped us feel at home, and nice touches like gas cookers when the power was off and keeping the wifi on battery supply. Fantastic!

Kathy’s place is really fun, quirky and cosy. Nestled in your own little private tropical garden, you can braai amongst the trees listening to the wildlife. Only a short walk from the beach and Kathy is a wonderful host that makes you feel really welcome, answers all your questions and gives great advice. Would really recommend

Very friendly host, willing to accommodate our every need, allowed a late checkout and accommodated our pets. We made use of the cleaning service - a wonderful willing and friendly lady. The host suggested restaurants, were often available for a quick chat and we felt right at home. Can recommend. It is a quirky place with lots of interesting items being repurposed as planters or decor. Not boring!

This is the ideal place for a family or big group who wish to explore the Kei area. The farm offers so much, even if only sitting on the stoop and gazing leisurely into the distance. It is close enough to the beach to enjoy but able to escape when the water is cold and the wind howling down there. The dam kept the children (and adults) busy for hours. All amenities are clean and Kean and his family are great hosts. Great value for money and a fantastic stay.

I couldn't rave more about the incredible place that Gotz has! Bertha is his secret weapon! She was top class as a hostess and made sure we had everything we needed. Very responsive and kind and courteous. The house was even better than the pictures, absolutely stunning, spacious, spotless clean and family friendly!

Ulandi was a fantastic host and overwhelmingly accommodating. The house is perfect for a small family and is equipped with everything needed including a washer, very handy. Lovely little upper deck to see the sea view. Would highly recommend! Thanks Ulandi for a wonderful stay.

Mkulu Kei is a place to relax - no TV/ wifi/ phone signal. Just beautiful rolling hills, the call of a Fish Eagle as it flies over the dam, easy hiking trails and if you really want the beach it's only a 15mins drive to Morgan Bay/ Kei Mouth. We stayed in Yellowwood Cottage for 4 nights and should have booked for at least a week. Kean and family run the farm with love so only go if you are looking for place to get away. This is not a hotel yet our cottage had all the creature comforts (oven, coffee percolater, view for km's, patio to relax on and a huge bed. Bring books, walking shoes, food to braai and enjoy the quiet. We sure did.
