Cabin holiday rentals in Kennebec County

Just returned from the most fantastic 2 weeks exploring the US which included a weeks stay at Kiwi Lodge. Where to start? This was exactly as described and the perfect base for exploring Maine. The property was spotless and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. 3 beautiful bedrooms, 2 great sized bathrooms, wonderful living area and kitchen and fantastic games room. Hot tub was brilliant. The location on the lake is just perfect, we had the lake to ourselves and took the canoe out. Nearest town of Farmington has all the shops and cafes you’d need. The communication from Kay was great from the day we booked, and recommendations we took her up on were all absolutely spot on. Thank you Kay and thank you Kiwi Lodge for a holiday to remember!

My wife and I spent a couple nites at the Stella cabin. It was a great spot and very relaxing atmosphere. We felt right at home and were happy to be able to vacation with our two dogs. We hiked many of the trails, had a nice date night making pizza in the woods followed by axe throwing. We canoed around the pond, let the dogs play in the water, made smores over the campfire and we relaxed in the hot tub. Truly felt the experience is well worth the asking price. Very quiet, grassroots camping area. We will definitely be back again.

A lovely cabin in the woods right on the water. Very clean and I thought it looked better and bigger in person. We really enjoyed our stay and had no issues.

Beautiful location on Whittier Pond with woods all around. The home was so clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. There were games, Legos, and books for inside and a canoe and kayaks for outside. There was plenty of information about local restaurants and activities. We enjoyed hanging out on the patio and at the dock. Jill was very responsive and helpful when we had a small issue. We would go back at the first opportunity! Really a lovely place to stay!

Owner is very professional, communicative, and helpful. House is in a beautiful area of rural Maine. Inside was very welcoming, well-cared for, and a great place to stay, especially for the price by comparison to competitors.

Beautiful spacious yet cozy lakeside cabin, so close to the lake that you just see water from most of the inside of the camp. This cabin has history and the open knotty pine ceiling, walls and floors lend a great deal of warmth to the place, while numerous modern updates/amenities have been added (new/modern bathroom, appliances and deck). We have stayed at many Airbnbs and have never seen one stocked as well as this one - virtually anything a person could want or need was provided: the kitchen had everything you could need and more, supplies, fans, heaters, tools, numerous indoor and outdoor games, kayaks, floats, a standup paddleboard and a plethora of chairs inside and out (including several pieces of antique furniture, further adding to the warmth of the camp). There was even a tree swing and an outdoor fire setup for smores. Our dog loved it as much as we did! Add the loons, eagles, ospreys, sunrises and general beauty of this Maine lake and this is a wonderful place to stay.

We felt very at home. The place is even better than the pictures. Nice walking trails near house. The walk to the dock is a little steep, so walk carefully, especially at night. We are already looking forward to staying with Christopher next year!

Wonderful place to stay on the lake! Great place to swim. Belgrade is close and has a great pie shop and a great general store. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay. I was worried about booking through Vacasa because they are a large rental company that doesn’t have a good reputation for customer service. Luckily, we didn’t have any issues with the house so we didn’t have to contact Vacasa. the listing pics show close neighbors. three houses on one side and two houses through the trees on the other side. If your dog is reactive to strangers, that might be some thing you want to consider. Not a lot of privacy. Some issues: bed linens were rough and uncomfortable. The bed is uncomfortable. The bedroom is VERY small. Regarding the house, it was great for two people and our dog. While there is a loft for additional sleeping for two, it’s a small cabin. It would be a tight squeeze for four adults. Perfect for a couple and two kids though. We loved hearing the loons on the lake, and the fishing was great. We would definitely stay here again. (We may bring our own linen though)

My family felt right at home from the first moment we walked into Katie and Allen’s cabin. Everything was just as she stated and there were lots of extras at the cabin. Fished right off the dock every night and caught lots of fish. Even saw 2 bald eagles almost every night!!! We loved our visit and would love to come back and stay at Katie’s cabin.

I stayed at Julia’s place as a way to get away and relax from my busy life. The cabin looked just like the pictures and Julia provided us with an accurate description to get there. Her place was nice and cozy and on the water. Thank you, Julia for being a great host!

Heaven on earth. Stayed 2nd week in Sept. very quiet and peaceful. Private dock to Great Pond with canoe and/or kayak. Breathtaking sunrises and all day views of the pond, watching boats go by and listening to the loons into the night. Fishing off the dock for hours. Nights on the deck enjoying the sounds from the water, land and sky. On a clear night the star show is amazing and if you are as lucky as we were you may see a shooting star. Nina was extremely accommodating and available. The home is decorated perfectly and makes you feel at home immediately. Cozy up in one of the nooks with a good book or take a nap on the hammock between the pines. Day’s Store, Sunset Grill and Christy’s Country Store (gas) 10 minute drive. What a lovely location with peaceful views. There is traffic but you don’t hear it at night. Perfectly placed between Augusta and Belgrade where there were really good restaurants! If we do IM Augusta 70.3 again we’ll be back!

I can’t say enough about this place…the online photos do NOT do it justice! The location is super private, yet not isolated. Having the water on 3 sides, just steps from the door was so calming and beautiful. The decor and furnishings are comfortable, new, and tasteful, with touches of vintage mixed in. The non-potable water, outdoor shower, and composting toilet took a bit of adjustment but after one day I had a routine…we spent almost all of our time outdoors and I think my dog never fully dried out the entire 2 weeks of our stay! Lily was quick to respond with any concerns/questions and I felt very respected. I’ve already booked for next year…
