Amazing view, Masai Mara surrounded by wildlife

This is a very special place and the whole idea and concept of social tourism appealed. My wife was able to volunteer at a local medical clinic and I volunteered at the local college which was absolutely inspiring. All of the staff at Oldarpoi were so friendly and helpful. Food at the restaurant was great and we enjoyed cocktails around the fire pit every night. Oldarpoi does have a generator for when the electricity drops but it took a while to kick in at times making it difficult to keep things cool in the fridge (staff did offer to store perishable food in their fridge in the main kitchen if needed.) It would be beneficial to take a torch although paraffin lamps were available. We did a walking safari and game drive with local Maasai guide Moses which was absolutely breathtaking and we learned so much. Pool was huge (much larger than photos on website!) Cannot recommend highly enough! A wonderful experience escaping from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

MAWE VILLA on Champagne Ridge, Romantic Getaway

Gorgeous, cozy spot…the perfect place when you need quiet, unwinding and thinking time. The road to the place had been closed so had to take a detour which was rough-had a ton of rocks, but Benjamin had warned us of it. Still the service was great, and Benjamin was a very responsive host and was very helpful. I’d go back with an even more raised car.

Amboseli Trails A-frame

BettyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This place is absolutely a hidden gem. I can’t wait for more people to visit it and experience all it has to offer. I’m willing to bet money it’s going to be a RARE find. Oloitoktok, Kimana and surrounding towns are small so if you have a lot of “small quirks”, better plan a checklist and carry things from Nairobi to avoid disappointment. I carried a cooler as the only extra amenity and it served me well. The support staff at the location are friendly and polite. The day hike with Lee(Brian) to Kilimanjaro, seeing the mountain up-close and the waterfall/stream cool off were so refreshing and relaxing! The Amboseli Motorbike Sunset Safari with Benson was the highlight for me! He got me so close to the animals and his local knowledge of the Conservancy and National Park really impressed me. I got wonderful photos and have him to thank for that. I also planted a tree at the location and hope other guests also take the time to plant one too! Thank you Lee & see you soon! Highly recommend

Great host, beautiful property, and caring staff. A truly beautiful retreat from Nairobi. We loved the pool as well as hanging out in the living room cottage. They also left some goodies out for us which was so thoughtful. We'll be back!

Olmaroroi House

The house is beautiful—just like in the photos! The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help. The views are stunning, and the experience was well worth the effort to get there. Google Maps estimated 1 hour and 15 minutes from the Junction, but it took us a little over 2 hours. We definitely wouldn’t have found the place without the help of a local boda boda rider, so do plan ahead. A high-clearance 4x4 is a must to reach the property comfortably. Vanessa was a wonderful host—very responsive and accommodating, especially since we were traveling with two very young children. She went out of her way to support us and made our stay so much smoother. We’d happily return and highly recommend this special spot to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with incredible views!

What an absolutely wonderful place. The magical countryside of Laikipia combined with great little cottages, placed in a beautiful garden that allow for full privacy for each cottage. It’s as if you were alone in the wilderness. Really fantastic.

Olsotowa House

ToddRating, 5 stars2 months ago
My friends and I had an amazing stay at Olsotowa House! The property is incredible with plenty of room for 10 guests, a great pool to relax in, fun activities to do (ping pong, foosball, archery, spa day, movie nights), and a wonderful view of the sunset from Ngong Hills. The hosts were very helpful and responsive, the property staff (Dorris, Julius, etc.) were great, and the chef (Martin) prepared delicious meals and snacks for all dietary preferences. I would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to going back!
