Hand-built by our grandfather in 1976 from Canadian cedar logs, [ˈkābɪn] holds a dear place in our hearts. We lovingly restored it in 2020 and are delighted to open its doors to nature lovers and the style savvy seeking a peaceful respite. With sweeping views across the traditional lands of the Taungurung people, your only task is to relax and enjoy the view, sip a wine by the fire, take a bath or read a book. We’ve added all the creature comforts we love so that your stay is care-free.

Located in the township of Longwood, a 5 minute walk to the White Hart Hotel. Constructed in 2021 using some materials recovered from the original 1885 house it has a large open plan living area, balcony and alfresco, backyard and front yard space (sorry no pets). Close to towns of Nagambie, Avenel and Euroa. Opposite rail line and close to local businesses the Rockery and Longwood Community Centre, local wineries Mitchellton, Tabilk, RPL, Fowle’s, Hide and Seek and Maygars.

Blackwood Bush Retreat

This idyllic country home is set on a picturesque 100-acre bush property. The home features three bedrooms with queen-sized beds, an ensuite, and a main bathroom with a toilet, shower, and bathtub. The hexagonal living area includes a country-style kitchen and dining room, with stunning views of the surrounding garden and bushland from the cozy lounge room. You can enjoy bush walks on the property, visit local attractions, or simply relax and savor the tranquility.

Forest Way Farm Tiny House

What was once our tiny family home now sits on a little farm for you to enjoy, looking over the orchard and forest. Your own driveway will lead you out to the little house, past our private residence and orchard. You can rest on the deck, lay on the grass or soak in the tub. With no WiFi or TV you can disconnect for a while and let the surrounds recharge you. Wander with the chickens in the orchard, take yourself out into the forest or explore the Yarra Valley.

Maggies Lane Barn House

BOOK FOR 3 NIGHTS AND GET ONE NIGHT FREE. Just 2 hours from Melbourne, on 65 acres in the sprawling Strathbogie Ranges, Maggies Lane Barn House is a romantic one bedroom couples escape (not suitable for children). Unwind in our thoughtfully designed, off-grid luxury retreat. The area is teeming with Australian wildlife, flowing creeks, native birds, bush and rocky outcrops. Warm up by the wood fire, enjoy the views and the beautifully appointed interiors.

Blue Wren Cottage

This cosy & charming cottage has a separate living area with sofa, small table and a wood fire, self contained kitchen with 4 burner stove top, sink, full fridge and microwave. It has a large bathroom & the bedroom has a queen bed, a single bed, a trundle bed or a cot. With lovely leadlight windows featuring Blue Wrens and stunning views from the windows over the farm and the hills. small enclosed yard for pets. We provide all bedding and towels.

Peaceful and private space

Comfortable, clean, cosy, peaceful and self-contained one room studio/cabin. Riddells Creek is a quiet small town in lovely surrounding countryside and views of the Macedon Ranges. Close to well-known tourist areas. PLEASE NOTE: I have set a 2 night minimum stay and this is what i prefer. However in special circumstances i will consider a 1 night booking if necessary, for some reason - send me a message to discuss it.

Immerse yourself in a bit of railway history in this unique converted carriage. Located in the heart of the Avenel township, you'll have everything you need for the perfect getaway. Relax on the deck and watch the trains go by, or wander down the road for a cocktail or woodfired pizza. Avenel is a great launching pad for all that the Strathbogie region has to offer - art, history, wine and some fabulous restaurants.
