Located on the southern slope of Mt. Myoho, one of the peaks in the World Heritage Kumano-Nachi mountain range, this is a mountain hut-style private accommodation with a 180-degree panoramic view of the mountains and the Kumano Sea spreading out below.　 The accommodation building has a traditional Japanese sunken kotatsu fireplace and a wood stove, so you can experience rural life, warm yourself by the wood stove, and be soothed by the flickering flames through the glass. Vegetables, blueberries, and fruit trees are grown on nearby farms, and you can experience picking them. We also raise chickens, so you can enjoy a slightly different morning egg rice with freshly laid eggs. You can also enjoy nature and refresh your mind and body in the midst of the seasonal scenery. As a Japanese cultural experience, there is a calligraphy lesson by a young female calligrapher. Reservations are required and it costs 1,000 yen per person for about an hour. Farm Stay AMAYADORI Here, Kumano City, Mie Prefecture is a rural village with mountains, rivers, fields, and Japan's original scenery. And we are a small farmer who grows rice and multi-product vegetables, herbs, and flowers. We provide the rice and vegetables we have grown during your stay, as well as fresh eggs grown in Kumano. The kitchen of the house is also equipped with condiments and cooking utensils. We hope you will enjoy cooking with us. My guidebook contains information about the surrounding area. Mikiura Guesthouse

Reservation start from 2 person / 2 nights minimum. We only take one reservation everyday so house is yours to use privately.We have no meal service since corona pandemic 2020. Guesthouse is a typical old Japanese house, not like a resort Hotel or Ryokan for business. Mikiura village is surrounded by the clear blue sea and natural green mountains, and located close to the World Heritage of "Kumano Kodo" You'll enjoy real Japan such as rural life experience, quiet time and beautiful nature.

Our house is called Kamikura-Hideaway. It is a small 50-year-old house located at the foot of Kamikura Shrine. Contemporary artist Fulbrn revived it as the art piece "Narrative Space." Since this house once served as a geologist's hideaway, bits of history are scattered throughout the building. Our uniqueness has even been featured in the travel media AFAR, reflecting our commitment to a memorable guest experience. We hope you will enjoy touching someone's story "floating" around the room.

Kumano Kodo/Ocean view/House in a fishing village

——5 seconds to the crystal clear sea—— Oriya is located in a small fishing town of Mie. You can be away from the tourists and enjoy an authentic Japanese town. Oriya is a private lodge that is limited to one group per day. Outside the window, beautiful and calm sea and lush mountain scenery spreads out. Not only the scenery, but also the town itself is charming. Also it’s close to world heritage of “Kumanokodo”. It is possible to come to this place by public transportation.

1 minute walk from Shingu Station. 2 minutes from the bus stop. It is a Japanese-style house with a small Japanese courtyard. You can try on valuable samurai armor, helmets, and bridal gowns (kimono)for free. The house is reserved for a group of 3 or more people per day. Please relax as if you were at home. We usually accept up to 8 people, but we can accommodate up to 10 people on request. There is a convenience store in front of the house, which is very convenient.

Nostalgic Beach House A private guesthouse in Nigishima, Kumano City, facing the calm Nigishima Bay. To reach it, climb about 50 steps (5 min) for a rewarding view. *Note: not suitable for those with limited mobility. There is no TV or clock—disconnect and relax. *Extra fee applies for 2+ guests. For safety, a motion-sensor camera is at the entrance; it only takes still photos when someone passes, never continuous video, ensuring privacy.

"Genki House", a house near Kumano Hongu-Taisha

It’s a house 8km from the Hongu Taisha. (about 15 minutes' drive) If you have a car it's more convenient, but if not I'll be happy to drive you to and from a bus stop or a tourism spot in Hongu area. My family run an organic farm, bakery, NPO offering long-stay for the youth, and an alternative school for children nearby. You'll have some loaves of bread from our bakery(^^)/ （If you don't eat bread please let me know beforehand)

Kumano house

between kamikura shrain and hayatama shrain at the walk 10min. It takes 15min by walking from house to JR Shingu Station. There isn't anyone in the house. You can relax very much. Other things to note. This place has an official permission from local government and satisfied fire safety as a short term rental accommodation. Please note that we have legal obligation in Japan to request copy of passports.
