Hall Yards Cottage

TracyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely little cottage. The attention to detail and the welcome pack made us feel at home straight away. Even the dog was included with a blanket and water bowl. It’s in an excellent location to explore Hadrian’s Wall and the Roman forts, as well as Corbridge and Hexham, both worth a visit. These are only a short drive away from the village of Wall itself, which is very picturesque and peaceful. All in all we had a great break in a great place.

The Bothy at Ivy Cottage

MelanieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The Bothy was very cosy with a beautiful view. The most interesting part of Hadrian's wall with stunning walks and visits of ancient Roman sites as well as restaurants and Haltwhistle with shops, cafês, pubs were easy to reach by car. Fearga welcomed us warmheartily. She was very helpful and gave advice when needed. There was a large variety of breakfast options and Fearga equipped us generously. We would come again!

Old Sunday School - pet friendy, hot tub hideaway

SamRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The house has the wow factor. Clean, tidy and you have the use of a hot tub or an amazing bath after a long walk. I would recommend taking a bath robe and flip flops for the spa/hot tub area. Everything you need is in the kitchen. The fireplace is stocked up with wood and heats the whole house and it feels so cosy. The homemade lemon drizzle cake was a treat to take with us on our walks. Dog friendly and a basket of treats for our pup and considering it’s dog friendly the house is kept immaculate. The area is perfect for those that enjoy peace and nature and amazing views. So many walks straight from your doorstep. There is a small post office in the village and Alston town not far away for bigger shops and fuel station. Lovely neighbours with a wealth of knowledge of the area. My husband and I along with our dog had an amazing stay and would definitely go back.

Romantic, arty barn haven with its own cinema.

KirstiRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a lovely stay at Gillian's barn. It's in a perfect location to get away from it all. The barn was as described, clean with all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed watching movies on the projector and had some lovely walks in the surrounding area. Gillian was a great host and provided easy to follow instructions for finding the barn and for anything else we needed. We would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet break.

Shepherd’s Hut, Alston, Cumbria

Amazing place. A little cozy if you are bringing a medium/ big four legged friend. But otherwise it had all the essentials for a pleasant stay, it was very clean and well maintained. The check in was super flexible, which is a plus, and we received very clear instructions of how to find the place. Amazing views too!

Garden Cottage in tranquil North Pennine valley

MikeRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A wonderful week’s stay in this beautiful place. We were made so welcome, the cottage and garden are definitely one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. Our dog was very happy here too. We especially loved the walk from the cottage to Hemel Cafe in Allenheads, following the stream. We look forward to our next visit!

Fabulous place in a beautiful setting. Comfy & cosy with everything you need & more. We had fun playing some of the games from our childhood & enjoyed plenty of dog walks from the door. Really friendly & helpful host. Would highly recommend this gem as a base for exploring this part of the country.

Unique Little Railway Hut

SonjaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay. As soon as Lynn welcomed us with a big smile and drove our luggage to the accommodation, our holiday started. The setting, in a beautiful, private, riverside meadow, surpassed our expectations. It feels like you practically have a valley to yourself, apart from occasional visits from rabbits, grouse, deer and chickens. The only sounds are from nature and wildlife. We grew quite attached to one particular chicken who liked to hop onto our decking to say hello every morning. The converted railway car has been fitted out so perfectly and immaculately, it's the most comfortable and cozy accommodation of it's type that we have stayed in. It's quite spacious and spotlessly clean. Every detail has been carefully attended to and we really appreciated the little extras which our hosts had included for us. The firepit/BBQ is a wonderful bonus. Lynn was so kind and lovely from start to finish. A genuine Super-Host! We would have loved to stay longer! Highly recommend!
