Family-friendly holiday rentals in Kloveniersburgwal, Amsterdam

The location was great, walking distance to trains and trams to get to the heart of Amsterdam. Far enough away to be quiet for nights in. Nancy was very communicative even though she was on holiday. Easy parking if you drive in and plenty of space for 5, especially if someone doesn’t mind the couch. Would be great for 3 couples. Amazing showers 😁

Fred and Kelly’s place is absolutely wonderful. We stayed because the price was better and there was a little more room than many places directly in the city. Though we looked forward to it, we didn’t expect to fall in love with it…and we did! Staying outside of the city is pretty great. It’s a 10ish minute walk to the train station, and then an easy navigation to wherever you need to go. We didn’t mind the “commute” a bit, and it was nice to start off and wind down in a quieter setting. The place itself is well kept, clean, and cozy. The beds were comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. We enjoyed casting Netflix on the TV with the fireplace on in the evenings, and we spent a couple of mornings in the garden. We booked this spot our entire stay, but also spent one night in Amsterdam to experience “city life,” and also spent one night in Utrecht. These were perfect additions to our home base plan. I’d definitely stay here again!

Federica and Ladislao were absolutely wonderful throughout the entire process. Responsive, accommodating and flexible with check-in and check-out times. The place itself was huge, very unique and homey. We spent most of our time in the garden, which was very charming, shaded and private. The living room had a large skylight that brightened the whole place. The room was packed with a variety of plants that also gave the house a great atmosphere. We also loved the industrial kitchen! Location was also great. Central yet quiet and peaceful. Plenty of great bars and restaurants around, and just a 10 minute walk from the museum district. Overall was a great stay! Highly recommended for a group of friends or a family.

We stayed in the apartment for a weekend and felt very comfortable. With the bikes you could easily reach the nearby metro station and we had a good time in Amsterdam. The landlords were very friendly and always easy to reach. I highly recommend this place for Amsterdam stays.

Upon arrival, we were kindly greeted by Marcel, a nice and friendly man. The house was clean, tidy and well maintained. The wifi worked perfectly and there was a clear explanation for everything, which was very useful. The location is wonderfully secluded, so you don't have to worry about neighbors and you feel completely free. We will definitely come back here again!

Our team of 6 people, business travel after one night, 1, the owner of the house proactively communicated to confirm the arrival time, it was planned to arrive at 8:30, the actual arrival was 9:30 -10, with 1 hour notice, the host was very patient; 2, There is a tree house and a swing in the house; 3. Easy parking🅿️; 4. Surrounded by 2.5km sea and beach, there are shells on the beach🐚, which is suitable for walking to see the beach🏖️;

Plenty of room, quiet neighborhood. The M5 bus made our commute to Train then Amsterdam easier. (Approx 1 hour). Loved the 2 free bikes available for us to use. The sauna was a lovely bonus to use at night to relax. Moniek’s was resourceful and actively answering our questions. Alot of gadget in the house, no cable on TV so it was hard for my elderly parents to figure out how to use an intelligent tv with Netflix and all but we managed differently. Area was really nice close to the house but Almere centrum gets a bit suspicious at night so be aware to not be a women alone at night coming back -even locals fidy not recommended.

Beautiful cottage, great location with a private garden with hot tub and barbecue. Very good kitchen equipment. Beach within walking distance. We had a great time!

I’m emotional about leaving this absolute treasure of a rental- wish we could stay forever. We booked Darley’s on the recommendation of well-traveled local friends who literally *moved* to Hilversum after staying here and told us it was the best Airbnb of all time. (These friends also know that I’m finicky about vacation rentals and generally prefer hotels.) I’m SO glad we listened to them. This is, without a doubt, the most beautiful, well-appointed, lavish, thoughtfully stocked, gorgeously furnished, comfortable Airbnb ever, and now I’m probably ruined for all others. It could have been half as incredible for twice the price - we’d still be delighted. I’ve never felt more at home while traveling. We had all the privacy, comfort, provisions, fresh flowers and fruit, random fun perks, great water pressure, immaculate cleanliness, inspiring corners, luxurious linens, and other copious supplies we didn’t know we needed. Thank you, Marielise, for the Airbnb experience of a lifetime. WOW.

Beautiful family home and welcoming hosts-highly recommend for families! Hosts were so helpful in recommending nearby restaurants, offering tips for the transit system etc. I wish we had spent more time enjoying their home during this trip to visit Amsterdam as the home is a gem-the outdoor spaces are lovely. The movie projector screen and large collection of movies was so fun to use. The home is in an ideal location to use as a home base to access nearby Amsterdam or the even closer and very charming town of Zaanse Schans.

The host is comfortable, flexible and cooperative. The cottage is wonderful and more beautiful than the pictures shown. The cottage's accessories are very beautiful. The cottage and its surroundings are a garden and arranged seating and care for the trees. The little river is wonderful. I highly recommend the cottage

We had a great stay at this apartment! Everything was very clean, tastefully decorated and furnished with a lot of love for detail. We felt comfortable right from the beginning. The location was ideal – quiet but still central, so we could easily reach everything. We particularly liked the warm communication with the host- always friendly, helpful and reliable. A small note: the stairs to the apartment are – typical of this beautiful old building – a bit steep. It wasn't an issue for us, but you should know. We would love to come back anytime and can absolutely recommend the place!

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Alkmaar! It is close enough to enjoy all that the city has to offer, yet it also provides a beautiful, peaceful escape from the business and crowds. Han and Kelly were great hosts, providing helpful recommendations and even rides from the train station and into Alkmaar. We also enjoyed hanging out with the dog, cat and chickens! We would definitely stay here again.

If you want to stay in a place that feels like home, this is the place for you! Off the beaten path a little, Lotte's place is such a reprieve after a busy day of sightseeing. It was wonderful to go for walks in the evening and enjoy such amazing farmhouse breakfasts in the morning. Lotte was extremely responsive and her place is amazing! I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Great accommodation and great hosts. We had a lot of fun and felt comfortable. The accommodation was accessible by boat and we could go shopping by boat. It was a real adventure. The accommodation and the pool were clean. Everything was fine for us ☀️

At Wendela and Martin you have a wonderfully quiet (private) place. They live on the road, but they have built a cottage behind them with everything they need. Also a private terrace where it was wonderful to stay in the evening. Wendela and Martin are very friendly, warm welcome with delicious strawberries and cold drinks in the fridge. The cottage is equipped with all comforts and has good beds and a nice shower. We were looking for a place to stay because our son was participating in the Ironman 70.3 and this place is definitely recommended. But it is also a good base for beautiful bike rides. We have therefore had a number of wonderful days.

The house boat was just as it looked in the pictures! It was very spacious and comfortable for our family of 4. It was perfect how the kids sort of had their side, or wing, and my husband and I had our space in the master bedroom, on the other side. We all slept very well! We loved the cats, Skip & Bo. We are animal people, so it was fun having them come and go, and socialize and snuggle with us! The views were amazing and there were plenty of spots to just chill when we weren't out exploring. The house boat was very walkable to many fun spots and different areas. We definitely felt like we were staying in someone's home versus a rental. Enjoyed all of the personal touches in the kitchen as well! We would go back in a heartbeat and recommend Joost's place without hesitation!

Fabulous place just outside of Utrecht. Perfect for biking, walking, and running. Peaceful atmosphere. Great host. Very nice and engaging. Highly recommend it!

Steven was absolutely amazing! The boat is lovely and well situated and he went absolutely above and beyond to help us out on our stay - he even brought us out on his tugboat for a test run! Could not recommend enough thank you so much for our stay 😊😊

We spent a lovely, relaxing long weekend at Madeleen‘s place, a cute apartment in a charming old house with a gorgeous garden directly by the Ijsselmeer. While there is no proper kitchen, Madeleen provides everything you need to make yourself a coffee or a sandwich, with a coffeemaker and a large fridge at your disposal. There is a pretty good restaurant in walking distance, and quite a few more a short car drive away. Getting to Amsterdam is easy, and after a busy day in the city, the garden and the quiet are absolutely wonderful, as is a quick dip in the cool water. Madeleen‘s friend Anna welcomed us and was a perfect hostess who we very much enjoyed chatting with. We had a great time and hope to visit again sometime soon. Thanks for everything!

Great mix between a very livable place to stay and a bucket list experience. Easy to cook, quiet nights, cozy! We stayed 10 days and enjoyed Utrecht as our NL base. Responsive and nice host, who has great info and recommendations in her guest book. Easy (25-min walk) to get to the historic center. Host also provided 2 city bikes, making it so easy to get around. We came by car but didn't need to use it due to walkability of everything. Houseboat is very well designed - it's small but there is organized and efficient space for everything you might need, without sacrificing hominess. Woodstove with plenty of wood and the huge windows overlooking the water make for a very serene stay. We're full time travelers by car in EU/UK/Balkans for over 4 years

We had such a great time at Laura’s Airbnb! While it was a long walk to the heart of Amsterdam, there are so many public transportation options close by and they are so easy to navigate. The neighborhood is gorgeous and we would definitely stay again!
