It is a nice, calm space that can accommodate up to 10 people. Please relax with your family and friends. It is about 1 hour by car from downtown Kyoto, and if you come by train, it is about 20 minutes by bus from JR Kosei Line Azumigawa Station, or about 10 minutes by taxi. It is popular with overseas customers, families, and groups. A BBQ set is also available for rent. We also rent BBQ equipment for a fee, so please let us know. Free parking is available on the premises. Parking is available for up to 3 regular vehicles. For large vehicles, it may be difficult to park 3, so please inquire in advance. If you contact us in advance, we can rent it for a fee. There are also plenty of outdoor facilities in the surrounding area, so please use it as a base for your activities. [Kyomachiya Rental] 115-year-old Kyomachiya · Takasegawa Shichijo

Kyoto Machiya Rental "Takasegawa Shichijo" is a fully renovated 115-year-old Kyoto Machiya. The Kyoto Machiya, which forms the beautiful scenery of Kyoto, has been remodeled into a building with high airtightness and thermal insulation performance so that you can spend comfortably in the hot and humid summers and cold winters unique to Kyoto, while retaining the structure of the time. From the Japanese-style room on the first floor, you can see the "roji" (the garden leading to the tea room) and the image of the tsubo garden. In addition, we have prepared a sofa in the hallway so that you can relax and enjoy the view of the tsubo garden. In the evening, you can spend a relaxing time while looking at the illuminated tsubo garden. There are two bedrooms on the second floor, one with two single beds and one with a double bed. If there are 5 or more guests, we will set up a futon in the Japanese-style room on the first floor for use as a bedroom. Cooking utensils and dishes are provided in the kitchen so that you can cook simple meals.

This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.

The streets lined with merchants' houses, built in the late Edo period to the Meiji era, give you a strange feeling as if time has stopped when you step into it.
