TABITABI is a 100-square-meter, two-story house built in the Taisho period with a modern style. You can enjoy an accommodation experience unique to Kyoto, where the old and new coexist, in a creative space with a harmonious modern interior, while retaining the remnants of when it was a wooden house, such as the beams with a history of over 100 years running along the high ceilings and beautifully decorated fittings. There is a private garden and open-air bath on the first floor. There is also a state-of-the-art unit bathroom on the second floor. We have two Simmons mattresses, the best in the United States. The Japanese-style room is decorated with a "vortex" design jointly created by a Kyoto washi maker with over 100 years of history and Japan's leading furniture craftsman, resulting in a shoji screen with a unique blend of light and design. The Japanese-style room cushions are "stylish and comfortable to sit on for a long time."We have placed the "Ojami Zabuton" cushion developed by Takahata-ya in the theme of "Fashionable and long-lasting comfort on the floor". Founded 100 years ago, Konaka Takahoka still does everything by hand. You can experience the comfort born from ingenuity that cannot be handled by machines, such as forming kamaboko molds and cutting corners by traditional handmade techniques.

The ultimate healing experience in an old house in Tamba Shinoyama Spend a relaxing time in a Japanese-style room with a spacious Irori fireplace and refresh both body and mind in a private barrel sauna. In the private deck space surrounded by nature, you can relax in a reclining chair while enjoying the fire. The vast countryside and distant mountains seen from the window are beautiful in every season, and will help you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. There is also a unique event space. Perfect for having a good time with friends. There are hiking trails and local hot springs nearby, so you can relax in a natural environment. You can also get fresh local ingredients at nearby markets. Stroll through the rice fields in the morning, relax in the sauna during the day, and watch the stars around the fire at night. Enjoy a luxurious time that can only be experienced here. Children 0-3 years old stay free of charge (when not using futons), and children 4 years old and older stay for 3,000 yen per person. Please do not include children in the number of guests when booking. Junior high school students and above will be charged the adult rate. A fuel charge of 2,500 yen will be charged separately during the winter season from November to March.

A building where you can stay while feeling the region

A property that had been vacant for about 3 years in the "Kami-Miyazu" area, which boasts countryside scenery and is about a 10-minute drive from the center of Miyazu, was renovated into a private rental accommodation. It is 10 minutes to the sea, 15 minutes to Amanohashidate, and 45 minutes to Ine no Funaya. It is not a particularly beautiful facility, but you can spend a relaxing time unique to the area. Basically, we don't serve food, but if you'd like, you can book a breakfast onigiri set at the nearby onigiri cafe, which is limited to our facility (for a fee) We can also introduce you to local people, BBQ, harvesting experiences, e-bike tours in the area, and more. Please check with me in advanced. BBQ is also available for rent as a set for ¥2,200. (Chairs, stove, charcoal, lighter, from preparation to cleaning up) Food is not included. Please bring your own. We do not allow BBQs outside of rentals. In the garage, in addition to BBQ, you can do bicycle and motorcycle maintenance without getting wet from the rain. You can store it in a locked building, so you can travel around Tango with peace of mind. Parking is available right behind the facility.

Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts.
