Family-friendly holiday rentals in La Herradura

At Casa Lopez, we stayed for 1.5 months as 5 adults, a child, and a dog. Occasionally, we were up to 10 people, but space was never an issue. The villa is beautiful with stunning views of the mountains and surroundings. The mountain road to the villa adds charm, and the place feels comfortable and safe—even accessible with a Fiat 500. The villa is more spacious than the photos suggest. Rafael, the host, showed us all the amenities: pool, Jacuzzi, and game room—all in perfect order. We also worked from the villa using the internet without any issues. The area is picturesque, close to beaches, mountains, and towns, with plenty to do. The hosts are very kind and helpful, even recommending a mechanic when needed. After 1.5 months, we still felt their warmth and friendliness. Leaving Casa Lopez was emotional for us. So, I recommend the villa for vacations, as well as a place where after work you can open some wine and jump into the pool. I wish everyone an equally wonderful stay.

Lovely traditional house in a fantastic location. Great outside areas with beautiful views. Kitchen had everything one could need. Everything was very clean and there were plentiful supplies of towels and comfortable beds. Perfect!

Amazing, well equipped villa in beautiful surroundings. Such a peaceful place to unwind and relax. We were a group of 7 adults and 3 children and the place suited us to a tee! Loads of space (far more than the photos let on), stunning views, amazing ‘top deck’ with outside kitchen/pool/shower. Bedrooms were lovely and roomy, with nearly all having en suites and air-con, panoramic views. Definitely recommend this place to large groups/families, truly memorable. Ana Maria and Amin were absolutely fantastic hosts. Meeting us for check in, showing us around and very quick to respond to any questions we had. So nice, thank you!

We had a lovely few days in José's place. place was just like the photos, very clean and José was always on hand if we had any issues or to offer local recommendations.

Beautiful apartment with a fantastic view from the large terrace. Two spacious bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 with bath and 1 with shower), great kitchen with lots of (cooking)stuff. Also a spacious living room with sitting and dining area. There are many extra things in the house: beach umbrella, sun loungers, lots of towels, kitchen items etc. The enclosed complex has a beautiful garden and large swimming pool with lawn around it. Beach and restaurants are in walking distance. Only downside (if we have to mention something) is that the garage has very small parking spaces, but there was plenty of space on the public road!

Great terrace and outdoor area - the view is indescribable. The only shortage in the apartment was basic cleaning supplies, dish brushes, dishwashing tabs, etc. The location is unique and has good local shopping and restaurants. The coffee shop in front of the apartment is clearly recommendable. We'd love to come back.

Beautiful and remote location with amazing views from the terrace, so much peace and quiet and birdsong. You can watch the weather as it changes rapidly within the surrounding hills. Outside space is really lovely, communal area is excellent especially if you are with a family or friends. Inside is cosy but well equipped and clean. Super friendly and helpful hosts who made sure we were comfortable, thank you for being excellent hosts!

It's very nice villa with all the amenities that the family needs. There were even spices and other things left in the kitchen. Very handy. The drive is up the hill and I would not recommend to walk there, especially with children. There is a lot of space in the house and the outdoor area is amazing. The jacuzzi is a plus as the swimming pool was too cold to use in April. Almuñécar is not very busy yet as it's not holiday time in Spain, again it's a plus.I would highly recommend El Caminito del Rey and the cave in Nerja if you like outdoor adventures with your family

This is a true hidden gem, easily the house with the best view I’ve ever been. The hosts are friendly and responsive. They were also very flexible concerning the checkin and checkout time. Would surely recommend this place!

We felt at home, everything was super clean and tidy. The kitchen was not lacking in detail, you had utensils for everything. The beach is super close, supermarkets like Mercadona and Lidl are super close, as well as parking. Diego is very attentive and responsive to messages, we definitely recommend him. We loved our stay in this tiny Andalusian village in the hills. It was in a peaceful and beautiful location. We felt so at home there and loved the traditional feel to the house. We ate outside every mealtime, enjoying the views from the wonderfully spacious garden and made the most of the pool. We ventured out to Competa and visited a great new restaurant (by day) and also a trendy insta worthy bar (by night) called Adrianos. We also visited the coast once (be careful not to take the small mountain road back. Big mistake on our part!). We knew the parking was on the road, but the access steps to the house are uneven and steep which was not a problem in the slightest for my husband and but proved a struggle for my mother in law and her wonky hip! Maybe make that clearer for those who find access tricky. All in all, we loved it here and are so grateful for the handy hints offered by the owners so promptly. We hope to return with our grown up children next year! Thank you.

We stayed at this beautiful place for four days. The village is secluded and only accessible via a bumpy road. But you are in a beautiful hiking area and have a great house away from the hustle and bustle. Right next door is a small restaurant with nice Belgian owners. It's even nicer than the photos. Overall, great recommendation.

Carlos greeted us late in the evening which was reassuring. Apartment peaceful (early October) with a great pool. Short walk to beach and Nerja old town centre.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful villa. From the moment we arrived everything was smooth, flexible check in and clear friendly communication made us feel welcome. The villa itself is spacious, spotless, well equipped, with plenty of room to relax both inside and out. The outdoor space is special, peaceful, with stunning views of the mountains and sea. Sitting on the terrace, sharing meals and chatting in such a marvelous setting, was a real highlight for all of us. Antonio and Ana, who look after the property were fantastic, warm, helpful, made sure everything was right. The host was incredibly kind and responsive, with a great personality making the whole process so easy. One of the biggest bonuses was how accessible the villa is. It’s so hard to find genuinely wheelchair friendly places, this one was brilliant thoughtfully set up and easy to navigate. We had an amazing time and would absolutely love to return. Highly Recommend!

What a fantastic place with amazing surroundings. We loved it so much. The incredible views, the lovely various cosy places to sit outside and chill at the pool or BBQ. Hiking up the mountain behind the house was a surprising lovely walk with a perfect 360 view on top. Amazing mango trees everywhere and lovely flowers all around. We just love this Andalusian hidden gem!

This was our first time spending a month abroad. It took a long time to find the 'right' property for our stay. We wanted something that had a welcome homely feel as well as a great location and Erlend's place was perfect! The apartment was wonderful. So many thoughtful touches and everything you could need was there. We loved the outside spaces but didn't get to use them as much as we would've liked due to bad weather. On warm sunny days, the terrace would be a perfect place to sit. The views from the apartment were lovely. We found the location to be perfect for us. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance and the lovely promenade by the sea. I have lung issues & yet managed the hill up to the accommodation every day. The lifts in the complex were very welcome. Erlend also very kindly accommodated a specific request I had & I was very grateful for that. Communication with our host was great Erlend's place felt like a home from home & we would love to come back again soon.

We had a wonderful week in La Herradura with our families and children. Villa worked brilliantly for me and my brother's family and for my parents. There was a common space to spend time and also to have your own peace. Children had to be lured out of the pool to take a break :) . The landscapes were absolutely magnificent and Villa beautiful and clean and a lot of activities in the surrounding area. Thank you!

Wow… what a week. Idyllic, beautiful and solitude. A few miles outside the most picturesque village in Spain. We have visited this area for years and it’s heaven. Ralph’s place was perfect. We will go again 100%

Frigliana a beautiful mountain village close to bustle of Nerja and Magaly's appt is certainly a fantastic 5 stars place to stay. Great facilities, especially with pool and large terrace and fabulous views. Looking forward to going back.

Wonderful house, spacious and decorated with pleasure. Environment of exuberant nature. Very spacious garden with a variety of trees and plants, views of the mountains, fountains, orchards, bird songs. The host is very friendly. The ideal site for a relaxing retreat in a little known and surprising corner of the Sierra, surrounded by small towns and a half hour drive from the city of Granada and the Coast.
