Lake house holiday rentals in Lake James

My husband and I needed some much-needed R&R and that is just what we got at this beautiful home. Loved the decor, the super comfortable couch and bed! We never made it to the Jacuzzi tub; however, the open shower was cool! Would defiantly recommend this romantic spot.

Perfect escape for three generations! Reviews are very accurate! We have been using Airbnb almost exclusively over a dozen years, this experience was at the top of our list! Granddaughter (age 6) caught one fish after another. A great memory for her! Air conditioning was so comfortable for an older home. Generous space to spread out in huge rooms!

this is a great location. comfortable home. close by for relatives visiting. don't want people to find it. we love having it for our family. we will be back

Perfect getaway with peace and quiet, dog loved it too. Walkable to Black Mountain with shopping, restaurants and music venues.

We loved this house! The lake setting was beautiful and the house was so cozy! They even had everything you could need to “move right in”… shampoo/body wash, every kitchen item you need, stocked fridge, serving bowls, games, blankets, so many EXTRAS!

I will definitely be staying at this house if we come up here again, very comfortable, clean, peaceful. Every morning we had deer in the yard. Such a great place!

The property was super clean, cozy and in a great location. Beautiful views of the lake and a private backyard. Interior had all the essentials one might need. Linens were abundant and clean. Bathrooms and kitchen were all upgraded and very nice. Quick drive to the market and a walk across the street for coffee, drinks and food. Also a quick drive to Chinmey Rock. Patrick, the host, was very responsive and always friendly. Definitely recommend. We will be staying here again!

This is a lakeside cottage/cabin built in 1950 and subsequently updated. It met our expectations of rustic coziness and modern bathroom/ kitchen. The screened porch overlooking the lake was a highlight. It is evident that this rental is enjoyed by the owners and there are many touches that show they have actually stayed there and thought about what is needed. The kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of towels. A highlight for us was using the kayaks. Early morning on the lake is peaceful and there isn’t much traffic on this little bay. We had four adults, so having one shower was not a problem. We had read the description and reviews and were prepared for the stairs. Many houses on this bay are built on the side on a steep embankment and have long staircases. Also, the property manager was responsive to our questions. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay again.

What a perfect place! Everything was just as pictured and stocked with everything you would need. We truly felt like we were at second home and not a rental. Home is extremely clean and comfortable with peaceful and beautiful surroundings! We really enjoyed our time there!

We loved everything about our stay! The house was so cute, clean and exactly as described. Thoughtful and fun decor and toys for kids was a big plus. Tonyia was quick to respond and very helpful. There was a book of instructions/info in the house that was also useful. Overall this house was a perfect place to stay and we will absolutely stay again!

Linda is an amazing host and one of the most proactive communicators I’ve ever rented from. Her place is lovely clean and easy to get to would definitely rent from Linda and the space again.

We had a great time at the cabin. Brandi was very accommodating with our request for early check in and late check out. The hot tub was by far the cleanest we had ever seen at an air b&b. We loved the welcome snack tray upon arrival. The games throughout the cabin were a big hit with my family. We loved the pac man and shuffleboard. We hope to be back soon!

Absolutely loved our stay. The home was very family friendly and even came with plenty of wood to have a nice campfire for each night of our stay. The lazy river and pool are just 5min away and some nice restaurants nearby. My family was able to easily unplug and reset here and hope to do it again.

The house was clean and spacious. It features two bedrooms on the main floor, with two additional beds accessible via a narrow, winding staircase - something to keep in mind if you’re carrying luggage. The location is ideal for those looking to stay near the lake and enjoy the on-site amenities. However, if you’re planning to visit Asheville, it’s about an hours drive away. Also, if you’re prone to car sickness, be prepared- the roads are quite winding.

Great time at Lake Lure! We had a great time relaxing with our family. Seeing bears from the front porch and a bobcat from the back deck was an added bonus! Fran was a great host.

We loved staying in the quaint cabin! Beautiful surroundings in a lovely neighborhood. The rooms are clean and well presented. Lots and lots of amenities in the kitchen - down to available scissors and tape. A/C system works great! Hot showers. Easy to get inside.

We enjoyed this beautiful home, peaceful area, and lovely views from the porch and dock. AMAZING fall colors and sunsets. Kelly is kind and responsive, and the home has so many amenities to ensure guests are comfortable and feel at home. Plenty of space to gather as a group or relax in a quiet spot for coffee and reflection. We reserved for our daughter to participate in the Fonta Flora 50K at nearby Lake James State Park. That was postponed, so we were able to volunteer at the park with other race participants to help clear and reroute trails in the state park. We were welcomed with friendly, open arms by restaurant and shop owners in the quaint cities of Marion and Black Mountain. So good to see and experience people loving each other and helping to rebuild after the hurricane. Definitely will return!!

We loved our stay -with ample space at the water during the day, and room to socialize inside at night. The space, location, and amenities were all superb. It would be nice if the grill were around back with a lake view, but it was great where it was. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again.

This is a beautiful home in a great location on Lake James. The marina is close by if you need a boat. The outdoor space is beautiful

This was our first time to Lake James and we are definitely coming back! The house was absolutely beautiful and perfect for our needs. It was very clean and had everything in great supply. Like others have written, the house is bigger than the pics let on. Susan was proactive with making sure we had the address, codes, etc before we arrived and very responsive if we had a question. All in all, it was a great time with the family!

the stay was just what the pictures showed and Lori was always responsive. Even recommended Patrick for the boat rental who was awesome! 10/10 would recommend to someone
