Cottage holiday rentals in Lake Weir

My family was looking for a quiet weekend getaway and this lake house was the perfect place for us! The lake views from the living room were spectacular. The house was charming and comfortable. It had everything we needed and more! The peacocks roamed the yard throughout the day and were a pleasant sight to see. The dock was enjoyed by the whole family! We watched beautiful sunsets. My sons used the kayak. We fished for crappie and caught a few! We brought our small fishing boat and cruised around Lake Harris. We made our way to the famous Dora Canal. The boat launch is minutes away from the house. We walked to the delicious bakery a mile away for morning coffee and pastries. The host was so helpful and available to answer any questions we had. We enjoyed our stay at this charming and serene lake house!

Stephen was a pleasure to work with, very responsive and flexible as possible. He was proactive in letting us know that the check-in time was available sooner than listed. His keyless entry made it very easy to access his house and made it easy for all in my party to come and go as they pleased. His house was very clean and you could tell that as soon as you walked in the door. Everything worked well, his AC system provided arctic level cooling, his pool and hot tube was ready for use, his screened in game room was fun and actually stayed cool throughout the day, his outside gathering areas had plenty of seating, and his dock provided plenty of room to fish. This location on the canal was beautiful and easily accessible to St John's River. Definitely would stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone who wants a cool place to stay, relax and have fun. Thank you, Stephen, for your allowing us to stay at your house it was well worth the cost.

Christi kirk the owner was absolutely amazing!!!! You will feel right at home she has a amazing property and takes beautiful care of her homes. The house sets on a beautiful lake and has a hot tub out on the deck. We can not wait to come back and visit

The cabin was immaculate with everything we needed for our weekend stay. The renters were even kind enough to supply a crock pot at our request so we could enjoy the lake while the dinner cooked itself. There was an issue with the AC, which typically could ruin a weekend. Our hosts did a walk through prior to our arrival and found the problem and had if fixed before it could ever be an issue. Their communication with us was fantastic and they were a pleasure to work with. We would recommend them to anyone. We have stayed at this particular campground for several years and there are some full time residents that have been very unwelcoming. This is not a reflection on our hosts. Other host in the campground have also been very wonderful.

Don’t miss the opportunity to stay T the Grand Oaks Resort. It is absolutely beautiful and relaxing. The staff is amazing and super friendly and helpful. This was our 2nd visit and I can’t wait to go back!!

The location was fantastic; when we got there, it even looked better in person. It had all the necessities and was a fairly roomy cabin/camper. A huge advantage was the patio and grill. We would definitely return; it's a nice pace for a quick getaway.

2nd visit and just as good as the 1st visit. Very well appointed, with everything needed for a nice visit. Animals on farm are just a bonus for hours of enjoyment.

Such a peaceful stay, the hosts were very responsive and accommodating, beautiful little cozy cabin, and the little town of Astor was a nice quiet relaxing place to stay.

Enjoyed our stay immensely, perfect bungalow, and we will definitely be back. Great Folks.

Victor’s place was amazing! He was very responsive and checked in with us about how things were going. The place was very clean and the surroundings were beautiful. We were up in the Ocala area for a concert and it was nice to come to the Airbnb for some peace and quiet after a few long days. If you’re ever in the area check this place out!

We are so happy we chose Dardens cabin as our spot to reset and relax. We work a lot and rarely get a chance to take time for ourselves and we were definitely due. My favorite part was being able to sit in the screened in patio, read a book and enjoy the beautiful nature outside while my boyfriend cooked on the grill. This place did exactly what we needed it to do and would definitely come back again.

We had a great time. Second time we have come and stayed here and we would do it again the next time we’re in the area. The lake is beautiful and the neighborhood peaceful.

Lovely home in a friendly neighborhood and close to so many attractions. Kenneth was friendly and very welcoming and responsive to my questions.

Karla's place is very nice. Very clean, the screened in porch was so nice and there are sliding glass doors where you can see the beauty outside. The lake, dock and everything outside were so beautiful. The thing I loved the most is it is so quiet there. We live on a noisy road so this was heaven. We met Karla as we were leaving, and she is so nice. Directions to the cottage were perfect, check in was easy. Very nice place when you have a dog as we were traveling with our Yorkie. You will love Karla's place!

We stayed at this property a year ago in the upstairs unit. I originally rented that one again (I had been thrilled with it). After I booked it, Jordyn told me she had accidentally double booked the unit. She moved us to this slightly more expensive unit at no charge, and i didnt even have to rebook. She took care of it for us. Personally, I would still book the upstairs unit because of a couple small details that are just personal preference. Both units are excellent. This downstairs one is large, has a beautiful porch, and a slightly larger bathroom. The full size washer dryer was a really nice touch. We really enjoyed the full kitchen as well. The location is excellent. County Road 44A is still a quiet country road in an area that has been rapidly developing over the past couple decades. It is close to Alexander Springs, Mt. Dora, and only 45 miles from the beach or Disney. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay. We will be back next time we are in central florida.

clean and cozy place. quiet surroundings and plenty of room for your horses and dogs. stalls for your horses as well. you can have your live-in quarters here also. a hidden gem for sure!

This was a perfect place to stay for a weekend . Lawrence was an awesome host (kind , knowledgeable and helpful) . He offered some great dinner recommendations and had snacks and wine for us when we got there. The cottage was clean , cozy, the bed was comfortable, we were close to downtown - basically everything was perfect! We will definitely be back !

Deanna was the most kind and responsive host. She gave clear directions and helpful information for the Pomona Park area. The house was cozy and we felt right at home. The porch and backyard on the canal was peaceful. I highly recommend, and we will be staying here for our future trips to the area.

This cottage was a peaceful retreat surrounded by beautiful, natural scenery. It’s incredibly quiet and relaxing—perfect for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy some time in nature. Bird watchers will especially appreciate this spot; we saw a variety of birds right outside our door. The small farm setting was charming, with a few horses and chickens adding to the peaceful atmosphere. It’s also a great place if you're traveling with pets—plenty of open space and a safe, welcoming environment. The host was fantastic—very responsive and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. All in all, a serene getaway that we’d happily return to.

Our 2nd one month stay at this lovely cottage. It's an excellent location on a channel to access Lake Henderson. Perfect for bass fishing. The home is clean and comfortable. It's spacious and was perfect for 2 couples. The kitchen is organized and well stocked . We enjoyed the patio, particularly the newly installed gazebo which provided shade during sunny days. The view from the patio is relaxing and perfect for sunrises. Home is located in a very quiet neighborhood. It's an easy 3 mile ride down 44 sidewalk to get to the Withlachoochee Bike Trail. Spent many hours fishing. Every Monday we'd make the the 45 minute drive to the Webster Flea Market (excellent stop for produce) then stop for lunch at Big Bass Grill on Lake Panasoffkee. Easy drive to Winn Dixie. Would absoulutely stay again,

This is year two that we’ve stayed here. We will be back next year as well. Tom is a great host and always responsive if you have questions. Highly recommend!

They were great to work with. very helpful with our needs. I would definitely stay with them again. Loved the fact that there was a washer and dryer plus any basics that we needed were available to us.
