We have recently updated this cottage ---- with a new kitchen with a proper hob and oven, and also replaced all the windows and even the front door ! The Forge cottage is set on our working sheep farm, on the Durham Northumberland border. Ideal for couples, or people traveling on their own, the cottage is a great location for local attractions such as Beamish Museum, Durham, Newcastle, Kilhope lead mining museum etc., but it's also great for those looking for peace and quiet and country walks !!

Rowan Cottage, Lanchester
Our quaint stone cottage is nestled in the historic village of Lanchester overlooking the Lanchester Railway Path . From the property, you can walk to the local shops, dog friendly bars, and restaurants and discover a network of pretty walking and cycling routes for all the family. The village is an ideal place to stay in County Durham with Durham City only a 15 minute drive and Newcastle a 30 minute drive where you will discover stunning architecture, shopping centres and restaurants galore.

The Oaks is attached to our home. It has its own private entrance from the outside and internal doors are locked. It is an ensuite room set out like a hotel room. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS OUR FAMILY HOME AND IS NOT SUITED FOR A ROMANTIC/ PASSIONATE NIGHT AWAY BUT FOR GUESTS WANTING A PEACEFUL GETAWAY.. Wooden stairs lead up to this first floor bedroom that has its own decked area with outside furniture to enjoy the fantastic views.

Welcome to 1 Station road, an 18th century upstairs dwelling we lovingly restored to become a 6 capacity dog friendly holiday let in 2024. The building began life as a school house and went on to become a number of businesses, the last of them a pet shop that we now own and run. Further ventures include an old ice cream shop serving ices and confectionery, all on the doorstep of 1 Station Road.
