Waterfront holiday rentals in Leelanau County

Lovely location. Beautiful surroundings. Lots to do around the area. I found the people around the area to be rude and somewhat unfriendly. I have visited lots of different locations around the states and have never felt like that before. I never met anyone from whom we rented the place from. We never needed anything either though so I suppose that's a good thing. Price wise is my only complaint. For such a small place it wasn't reasonable price wise. However we made it work and had a wonderful time. I definitely recommend this place for a small group only. 4 or less.

We had a wonderful time at Kim’s place! She was a great host - super friendly, responsive and helpful. She answered our questions immediately and seemed to take a genuine interest in helping us to enjoy her place. The welcome package was complete and user friendly, even for a couple in their 80s. Kim’s place is clean, quiet and cozy, and has stunning views of Lake Michigan. The photos online are exactly as experienced, although the lake views are even better. We couldn’t decide each day if we wanted to relax, beach walk, or see local sites - there is so much to do. We will definitely be back! Thanks Kim:)

This was a perfect place to stay for a few days while in the area for a conference. The place was clean and comfortable. The beach access was a nice added bonus.

Right on Main Street, just a couple minute walk to the heart of downtown Leland. The perfect home base for relaxing in between beach walks, swimming, shopping, and eating. The attic was larger than pictures showed! There was pretty much everything you’d need to feel comfortable. Nicolle was very inviting and easy to communicate with. Hopefully we’ll be back again!

Very beautiful views of the lake, sunrise was spectacular! Beach is at your doorstep, grill outside, all the necessities inside. We really enjoyed the location of it!

Perfect place to stay while visiting Traverse City. The space is clean and the shower is amazing. It’s just a few minutes walk from the lakeshore.

My family loved the place. It was perfect for my 2 young granddaughters. It was a great location. We visited not only Suttons Bay and Traverse City but also enjoyed Glen Arbor. It was close to the bike trail. We also went on a couple of hikes. (Empire Bluffs and Pyramid Point). My adult children and spouses visited wine country in the Old Mission Peninsula while I watched my granddaughters. The nursery and playroom was perfect for our family. We loved the open concept in the kitchen and family room. We enjoyed the beach across the road from the house. Thanks for a wonderful time! It will be a vacation my family will never forget!

This is perhaps the best rental we’ve found after years of going up to the Leelanau Peninsula. The location is perfect, the layout of the home is comfortable and spacious, and it has every amenity a family needs to hunker down for a stay. Simply put, it’s everything a family could ask for when staying in the Northport area. Also, hosts are very responsive and friendly to any and all questions.

One of the few places that feels worth the payout. I’ve been going to glen arbor on and off for 10 years. This was the first time being on the physical lake (little glen). Having the private access, and having kayaks to go was pretty cool. We created some great memories for my 11 year old son. It was a slice of paradise. I hope to come here again sometime in the future when it’s warmer.

Location, location, location! Sitting on the bluff looking out over Lake Michigan is everything this home is about. An absolutely beautiful view and grounds. The house could easily sleep 12 and leave plenty of space for everyone to have. Matthew responded very fast and made this process very easy. The outdoor fire pit area was awesome! The deck was big and offered spectacular views of both Lake Michigan and the stars at night. I am very familiar with the area so finding it was no problem at all. I thought Matthew gave great directions if someone was not familiar with the area. The beds were very comfortable and no one seem to complain. Only a few things I thought needed attention. The house could use some upgrades as it is showing its age and where. Certainly not to the point where it is rundown, but just the basics. Peeling wallpaper, a few cobwebs here and there cut linoleum floor, but that’s really it. Overall, it was a great day and we had a wonderful weekend. Thank you, Matthew.

This house is just as promised in all the photos. A beautiful house with a gorgeous view. Kitchen was equipped with all you need to do cooking or dining in while staying. All the spaces were clean and tidy with all the little things thought of like little throw blankets in the living areas to use, to puzzles and family & group friendly games. The hot tub overlooking the private lake access was perfect to enjoy in the evenings. Also the location! Cant beat it, close enough to downtown Traverse City to enjoy all the shopping and restaurants but far enough up on the peninsula to be close to many wineries and the downtown Sutton Bay area. We would definitely recommend this house and will be back when were in the area again.

Where do I even begin to describe how amazing Meryl’s home is? It’s one of the most peaceful, beautiful, and comfortable homes I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. From the moment we drove off the road, we were cocooned by soaring trees and a running stream that hugged the border of the house. We felt secluded without feeling isolated. The house is like a retreat, beautifully decorated, quiet and clean, with all the amenities we could need for a comfortable stay. There were so many wonderful places to recreate and eat in the area. Traverse city was just a short drive away and Farm club was a 3 minute drive. A real gem to have close by. Meryl is such a wonderful host, she helped with so many wonderful suggestions and was very responsive. I highly recommend booking Meryl’s home, except when I want to stay there again 😉.

This was our second time staying at this property and we love it even more than the first time. Such a beautiful location right on the water, plenty of space, clean and walkable to downtown so we hardly used our car. Our kids loved the third floor bunk room. A great extra space. We look forward to future trips at the Innisfree Cottage!

Place was exactly as described. Perfect location for our needs and the ability to bring our dogs was a huge plus. House was spacious and well kept. Would stay here again

The place was wonderful. Loved having a wood burning fireplace. Kitchen well-equipped. Great shower. It was a little confusing to find the unit. The address of 16 sandpiper #1 didn't make it clear and the number on the door of the unit was not visible from the parking area. But all in all, would highly recommend!!

Excellent stay! Close to downtown! Has a beachfront right next to the place where the sunsets go down. Very peaceful and an excellent stay overall, thank you!

Mandy was great right from the start. I was frantically looking for a house that could accommodate a family of 6 while still giving everyone their space, when I came across the listing I was so excited, but dates were not in my favor in regards to availability. I reached to to Mandy and booked moments later. We were able to check in beforehand which just gets vacation going sooner than later! The view from the second you walk in the door is gorgeous! All rooms had plenty of space for your own items, I am one that unpacks even for 2 nights and love drawers and hangers LOL. The only thing, and I might have not seen it correctly is that the twin bed room and Queen bed room are swapped. I thought the Queen room had the full bath, but my brother, SIL and baby were just fine with the 1/2 bath. Definitely on the list for next year's adventure!

Fabulous place to call home for a few days for a conference being held at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. Holly was the consummate host, communicative and helpful with questions. If you are a golfer, you can't find a better spot.

Great place! Had a couple questions prior to arrival and Dawn answered quickly. Check in was keypad and very easy. Place was clean and beautiful, amazing views! Easy to get to TC and the peninsula. We would most definitely stay here again. Can’t wait to come back.

We will definitely book this place again if we need to be close to the Grand Traverse Resort again. Its very clean, very comfortable, and the the views are really nice. It's just far away enough from downtown to be quiet and peaceful.

We stayed here for the Iceman bike race. It was a great location for our needs. Mike was proactive and gave us all instructions needed for check-in well in advance. Place was as described and had everything we needed. Would recommend!

The lodge was lovely. Right on the beach in a secluded wooded area. The hosts and other guests were all extremely welcoming.
