The result is Tyven — an 80 sqm boutique cabin with a large window facing Mjøsa — Norway's largest lake — from the kitchen. Featured in National Geographic Traveler. The old summer barn of Hovelsrud Gård is idyllically located between Mjøsa and a rolling grain field – a simple and unique place for those who want to get close to nature and enjoy the tranquility of Helgøya. We have renovated the old boy living room on the farm, and rent it out for short and longer stays. The place is best suited for 2 adults, or a family with 2 smaller children. The home is located in the courtyard, but still shielded. It is a short walking distance to Mjøsa, you walk down in 5 minutes. You can swim there. The pilgrim's path goes right past the yard, and there are many other nice hiking opportunities by bike and on foot.
