Fabulous location, views to die for. House was big, very well equipped and comfortable. Although it doesn't say it in the amenities there are 2 bathrooms, 1 has a shower and very large bath & the other is an ensuite shower room off the king-sized bedroom. I almost didn't book this accommodation because we needed 2 bathrooms and it was only by reading reviews that I realised there are 2. The pictures do not do the house and views justice, beautiful ever changing views from lounge, which we actually never used, conservatory & balcony. Although it states garden is dog proof it isn't if you have a smaller dog. We had a Cairn Terrier & a Westiepoo with us and they easily got through the fence and gate, there were sheep & lambs in the adjacent field, lambs came to visit through the fence, so dogs had to have leashes on while out and no gate from balcony so we had to block this off too. There are so many stunningly beautiful beaches for dogs to run about on though so they were fine

Harris Hill Lodge, Achmore, Lewis, Outer Hebrides.

We had a wonderful time staying here. The place was so, so comfortable, we had everything we needed and all instructions were very clear. It is very well placed for exploring both Lewis and Harris, yet close to Stornoway for shopping and supplies. Evenings were spent relaxing in the tranquil surroundings, watching the colours of the landscape change as the sun went down. We could see red deer in the fields around the house, watched stonechats and meadow pipits fluttering about, curlews flying down to the lake, and there was an ever present cuckoo. It was a very peaceful and relaxing stay, I would definitely recommend it.

Heather Cottage, Leurbost,

SonjaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Travelled with my partner, our dogs and my parents from Germany. The house was welcoming, had everything we needed and felt homely. Communication with Kathryn was easy. Her instructions were spot on and she left a folder with local guides to what’s on, on the Isles of Lewis and Harris. Leurbost has amazing views down to Harris Mountains. It’s only 15 minutes from Stornoway, 20 minutes to the Callanish Stones and 45 mins to Tarbet putting all of Lewis & Harris at your doorstep. If you’re looking for a quiet homely base with beautiful views to explore Lewis and Harris I’d strongly recommend to stay at Heather Cottage. We couldn’t have asked for more.

What a beautiful cottage, with fantastic views! We spent 3 nights at the cottage, when visiting the islands, providing an ideal location for exploring. For two couples and two dogs, we really enjoyed our stay, finding everything we needed in the cottage. Well maintained, with a really nice presentation and welcome treats

This was the highlight of our long trip and met all the high hopes we had. Peaceful surroundings in space which perfectly links the interior comfort and warmth with the panoramic wildness viewed from the lounge and bedroom. Far from the crowds with beautiful drives and walks

Panoramic Sea Views - hot tub

We loved staying at the Larch Shed! Hallin is a beautiful slice of Skye with much to do and is a little off the beaten path from the main tourist areas like Portree. Jane was very hospitable and friendly, and we enjoyed our conversations with her. The Shed itself was exactly as described and very peaceful with an absolutely stunning view of the bay to start and end your day with. Everything was well appointed and we enjoyed the rustic decor. Highly recommend the YurtTea down the road for small breakfast and coffee, as well as nearby Stein Inn for amazing dinner. We also enjoyed Old School Restaurant in Dunvegan for dinner. Would recommend stopping at the co op on Forest rd in Portree for cooking provisions on your way up. We would definitely stay here again and look forward to our return!

No 9 Keose Loft space

Margarets' place was in such beautiful surroundings we ended up driving right past her entrance! If you follow her directions carefully and keep your eyes peeled for her driveway marker; you will have no problem finding this pristine country home. The accommodations were gorgeous and spotless. Both the bed and sofa bed were very comfortable and whe had everything needed for tea (and lovely fresh eggs from her hens). When we couldn't find towels for taking a shower, she responded within seconds and brought them right to us! I would highly recommend this abode. It is lovely, quiet and Keose area is so beautiful!
