The Lookout at Bruntknott

LauraRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We had a lovely 4 night stay at William & Chris' place. The instructions to find the place were clear & easy to follow & William came by once we'd settled in to say hi & gave some good advice about local walks & things to do in poor weather. The accommodation is beautifully situated, clean & plenty of amenities. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of equipment & cooking utensils. There was a set of towels each & a washing machine to use if needed. There weren't any toiletries but we'd brought our own anyway.Very friendly chickens that appeared out of no where as soon as you opened the door! The only main issue we had was with the heat-due to the position of the large windows it trapped all the heat inside & we couldn't open the doors to let any air through due to the chickens & flies coming in,so it was a bit uncomfortable. There is a long narrow road & track up to the house, the last bit of which had quite a few large pot holes so care's needed when driving. Thank you for a fab break!

Comfortable and spacious farmhouse in Eden Valley

SueRating, 5 stars1 day ago
The minute we opened the front door and stepped inside Town Head, we felt at home. The kitchen/living open area is such a wonderful welcoming space - impeccably clean and tidy and very well equipped - for our family gathering spanning three generations. We loved the way the design of this space enabled us to cook and talk and eat all together. Being beautifully warm for the third week of June) we soon opened the doors to the lovely garden and watched the little ones toddling happily about while the adults enjoyed a glass (or two) in the balmy evening sunshine with swallows dipping and diving around us. Idyllic! You are a superb host Alison and we felt very well looked after. The attention to detail in ensuring that we had we had everything we needed was second to none. We were so excited to see the red squirrel! We were delighted to fulfill our aim to climb Blencathra and thoroughly enjoyed setting off on foot from Town head to explore the local area. As such, will be back for sure!

Wainwright's Rest - Double Room with Kitchen

EugenioRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Our stay at Wainwright's Rest was peaceful and comfortable, we stayed for two nights as were attending a wedding locally. Emma was very responsive and helpful when we arrived late, and the facilities were clean and tidy, as described. It's only a short walk into the town and the surrounding landscape. Highly recommend for a short stay!
