Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Loch Ken

Had a great few days up in Ayrshire. Amazing property, amazing location, spectacular views.. Definitely coming back !

Very comfortable, well equipped and a beautiful peaceful location. We loved the walks in the forest parks and the artists centre of Kirkcubright. Also evenings around the firepit. The pool table was also very popular. The area is great for both road and mountain biking.

We absolutely loved our stay at Ruthwaite Farm. The property is large, spacious and very peaceful. Although the property is large, the design and furnishing means it still feels very cosy and homely. I particularly loved the sofa on the landing area upstairs with views of the mountains. The kitchen is large and very well equipped. There is a large dining table with a big ordnance survey map of the Lake District behind which was extremely helpful (much easier than laying a map out on the table!) and a personal touch that I loved :). The village location is so peaceful and idyllic, and means you get a taste of real Lake District life away from some of the more touristy areas. David is a great host - the most friendly, helpful and responsive host of all airbnbs I have stayed at.

A great place to stay for a small group/family gathering. There are 2 living rooms and outdoor space so room to spread out. We loved the hot tub! The hobbit house is a cool addition with fairy lights, a Bluetooth speaker and is very well-insulated so warm even without the central fire going. The house has beautiful views and was a lovely place to relax and be cosy on rainy days. Only a short (15 mins) drive to the small towns of Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas, Threave Gardens and the Kite feeding place at Laurieston.

This was our second lovely stay at Gina's and we had a great holiday. Moniaive is a beautiful little village and the cottage is perfect- we even had some sunshine this time so could enjoy the garden! Gina is a great host and made sure we had everything we needed and very kindly left us a little gift to thank us for rebooking. We would love to stay again- thank you Gina!

Our stay at this charming Victorian townhouse in Cockermouth was truly exceptional. From the moment we stepped inside, we felt completely at home—the cozy yet spacious rooms, tasteful rustic decor, and thoughtful details made our visit delightful. The kitchen was fantastic, fully equipped and perfect for cooking meals together, especially with the impressive Rangemaster cooker. We loved relaxing by the log-burning stoves, which added a warm and comforting atmosphere to our evenings. The attic room was particularly lovely, offering not just comfort but also practical amenities like a workstation and a walking pad—perfect if you need to catch up on some work without missing out on relaxation. Communication with the host was seamless, and the thoughtful touches throughout reflected genuine care and personality, setting this apart from typical stays. This home truly captures the spirit of the Lake District and was the ideal base for our adventures. We highly recommend this home!

Stayed with family. 5 of us. Beautiful place. So peaceful. Loved it. Some insects inside the house, but that’s expected since it’s summer.

Had a fantastic 5 days stay in a wonderful home. Beautiful decor, gr8 facilities, easy to get into town. Very friendly host. Would definitely recommended and would definitely return

We stayed here on our way to the Highlands as a stop over and it was perfect. There was myself, my partner and our 9 year old daughter. Deborah was very welcoming to us after such a long drive, she had prepared a lovely lunch of sandwiches and cake for us and left some milk in the fridge for a very welcome cup of tea and coffee. The place was spotless and had everything we could possibly need. The weather was not fantastic but in the summer the garden would be lovey to sit and relax in. The highlight for my little girl was the jacuzzi bath which was fantastic! The place was very cosy and we easily could have stayed for longer had we had more time in our trip. The beach was very close which was much appreciated by our dog Bella. We will definitely consider staying here again on our next trip to the Highlands.

Amazing place to stay. I’d give it 6 stars if I could. Liz is very responsive and extremely kind. Seriously one of the best places I’ve stayed. I’d highly recommend this place to any friends or family. A+

Perfect setting for pristine accommodation. The 'container' lodge was impeccably clean, very fresh looking with a cozy but modern vibe to it. Living area sliding doors are a nice touch, well equipped kitchen and all necessary utensils available. Another nice touch was how good the shower was ! The simple things in life ! Hot tub and fire pit area well thought out for both privacy and protection from wind on breezy nights, and like the inside of the lodge also impeccably clean. Highly recommend for escaping from the world for a few days, and will certainly look to book again . Every part hassle free and communication of instructions & help couldnt have been better. A well deserved 10/10

Nicky and Steve are very friendly and helpful hosts. Location is very peaceful with lots of character. Great location for exploring the area. We played golf at Glenluce and Newton Stewart, and there is lot more to do in the area. Pool table very good to have available on the day of torrential Lounge area is very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit the area.

A lovely 2 nights, stunning views and a fantastic Dark Sky experience! Pod had everything you need with clear and helpful instructions on how to use things. Will definitely rebook 🤩

We had such a fantastic time at the lodge. The sunset was beautiful, the hot tub was lovely and spacious and the lodge itself was much bigger than we expected. There were lots of comfy spaces to relax and enjoy the nice weather. We will definitely be coming back!

nice little place, really enjoyed our stay

Lovely peaceful place to stay, we were lucky and picked a fairly mild weekend in feb, wood and coal were provided but brought extra to have the fire on all weekend. Toilet and shower in the building were clean and close in proximity. Stephanie and Rick were lovely hosts and most welcoming. Would love to come back when it’s a bit warmer ☺️ ☀️

An enjoyable stay in this accommodation only a few miles from Ayr. Adam and Katherine were good communicators although we had no need to speak with them directly during our stay as there were no problems for them to resolve. The accommodation was compact but comfortable and we enjoyed watching the local herd of cows trundle by each evening from our deck. Recommended

Our second stay here and it was lovely again. Cosy and in a great location and very clean. Will be back again!

From arrival the process was super easy and the views were incredible. It was a lovely cosy space with a large hot tub looking over the fields. Will definitely be recommending this to family and friends

Carole and the team were just great - from start to finish they were friendly, welcoming and clearly worked as a big family! The park is beautiful, peaceful and ideal whether fishing for the weekend or getting away from noise and tech with the family or a loved one. Heather cleans the pods and vans immaculately and the recommendations for walks and places to go were helpful and made for a much needed relaxing weekend. Will definitely visit again.
