Cottage was exactly as described. Really enjoyed the beachside fire pit. Met some lovely folks and shared fireside stories. Great location. Fantastic bargain.

My husband spent two nights at this wonderful cabin and so enjoyed our time there! We ate at the boat house for lunch one day and walked the Wolf Creek Trailhead another, but other than that we enjoyed being at the cabin! The backyard was incredibly serene! We read and talked for hours around the bonfire until dark and then hit the hot tub both nights! What a wonderful space to get away and reconnect as a couple! I would absolutely suggest it as a couples get away! ❤️

Lovely property with an amazing and cute little cabin. Very private, we walked the woods and had bonfires. The hot tub was great! We would definitely come back!

Place was great for big groups with many beds, activities, and nice walkable lake community. We all enjoyed our stay.

This place was pristine. Usually spots right next to the water smell at least a little bit like mildew, but not this one! We saw no signs of insect or critter intrusion either. The place could use some shades, or ventilation in the bathroom, but overall it was spotless and peaceful. Oscoda is tiny but this is a short drive to Tawas City where there’s lots to do. The private beach entrance was right across the street and easy to access. The sauna was closed for maintenance, but Aaron was upfront about this and the pool and hot tub were still open. Overall we had a great experience here!

We had a great time at the cabin. So many fun activities and games to play. The hot tub was so relaxing after a long day.

Perfect for what we needed it for! As described, a shack that is secluded in the middle of the woods. We got to bring our dog. The property is great for outdoor activities and having up north fun!

Our Host Roger had great suggestions and information to make the visit a success. The cottage was comfortable and immaculate just like the photos posted. Location was beautiful. What stood out was how welcoming our host was to us and pet. Every convenience was provided for cooking. Thanks to an outstanding host and beautiful cottage setting for a fun and relaxing stay.

Jame's cabin exudes care, charm and coziness with wall hung quotes and artwork throughout. Special thought given to a true functioning kitchen which is much appreciated after a long drive. I was a solo traveler but would be lovely for grandchildren and children to reconnect with nature unplugged. A firecircle stands rstocked and eady to keep you warm whilst searching for shooting stars. Worth returning to share with family.

This is my second stay, but certainly not my last! Cozy and clean, with all the thoughtful touches! Love sitting on the couch in the morning with a cup of coffee and looking out at the woods behind the cabin. Sunday morning we had a porcupine visit. Nothing threatening, just passing through. Rick is always very responsive, and the cabin is spotlessly clean! Close to Roscommon for South Branch AuSable canoeing/kayaking and also close to Grayling for AuSable Main Branch access. For pit is a treat. Quiet and peaceful retreat and located centrally for river access!

We had a great time relaxing at the cozy cabin. The space matches the name! The description was clear and I feel everything was true to the description. The bathroom is a little tight however that was mentioned in the description so was not a surprise when we arrived. We always got quick responses when we messaged. We enjoyed that there was a fire pit, with chairs already there. An out door eating space and grill along with indoor space. They had also had extra blankets, movies and games which was very nice!

I love this place. The only thing I dislike is how uncomfortable the beds are. I would recommend bringing a topper so you can save your back from aches and pains after a couple days. I recently stayed at this cabin and had an amazing experience. The location was peaceful and surrounded by nature—exactly what I needed to unwind. The cabin was clean, cozy, and well-stocked with everything we needed, from kitchen supplies to extra blankets. The views were beautiful, especially during sunrise and sunset. The host was incredibly responsive and made check-in a breeze. Whether you’re looking for a romantic escape, a solo retreat, or a family getaway, I highly recommend this place. I’m already planning my next stay!

Penny was amazing! The cabin was perfect with everything we needed. We arrived way later than what we intended on due to traffic and Penny was in constant communication with us during our trip. She even left the porch and kitchen lights on for us since we were arriving well after dark. Penny lives right next door, so if we ever needed anything, it was taken care of almost immediately. She would even let us know when she was going to be gone for a bit so we were aware. I enjoyed sitting on the back patio each morning with my coffee listening to the birds and other wildlife. So relaxing! My husband and son took the row boat out a few times and went fishing. We even did a bonfire our last night there and made smores. Couldn't have asked for a better or more relaxing stay. The cabin was relaxing and fun! Tyler was proactive with checking in and providing instructions. I appreciate the hospitality!

Pros- Stunning views from the living area to the lake. Plenty of sandy beach front with all the rocks you would ever want in the water. Impressively clean and beds were made like you were at a 5 star resort. Kim has raised the bar for being a host with Airbnb!! Kim is a 5 star host and thought of everything to make our stay like it was our home. Cons- I don’t have anything negative to say regarding the host, the cabin, the cleanliness, and the location. Kim mentioned this is not baby or child proof; the only concern I would have if I brought little ones would be the outside. There are steep steps down to the beach. Every house in this area has just as many steps down from the house to the beach. Plenty of beach area once you are there, just keep in mind if you pick up rocks, you will have to carry those up the steps.

Wow! What can I say about this place? If I was going to build my own lake get-away, it would be exactly like this. So quaint and cozy. They perfect spot to get away. We were here for a wedding in Alpena and decided to try Hubbard Lake because I had heard so much about it. Being from Chicago, this was the perfect place to relax and unwind in between the festivities. My favorite was definitely sitting on the porch in the morning drinking my coffee, listening to the birds and watching the squirrels and chipmunks. So peaceful and quiet. Robin was the perfect hostess, she has the place decorated so cute, and anything you could need is there. She had a list of restaurants nearby, but we enjoyed the cottage so much, we didn't want to go out. We needed an iron for one of the shirts for the wedding, (we forgot) and texted Robin and we had one right away. How responsive was that? I would recommend this place over and over again, and hope to come back to visit soon.

wonderful stay at this beautiful home

My husband rented this cabin for the month of May, to indulge his fly-fishing love. We live just 3 hours from site, so me driving to visit or hang for a week, was easy. I loved meeting our hosts and we enjoyed interesting conversation with them. May we meet again in the future! This is a beautiful, well-appointed cabin/apartment in a secluded location on the Au Sable River. Our hosts were friendly, warm and easy-going. They were a joy to be around when we would run into each other. Weather was iffy for the month: a lot of rain, cold and wind. Time would be spent tying flies or reading. The view from the balcony is the Au Sable River. This cabin offers a restful visit. If there is any inconvenience, it would be the 15 minute drive on a dirt road to get to pavement. So going into town for food, etc., might take half an hour. As noted, there is a long flight of stairs to get into cabin. Bathroom is large with a washer/dryer inside. The Queen mattresses and quality bedding were so comfy!
