Comfortable home in beautiful surroundings. Really responsive and friendly host. En-suite bathrooms to each bedroom and the beds were super comfy. Great parking and charger for electric car - lovely walks nearby along the river and the horse in the field behind had just given birth to a foal so our daughter was mesmerised. Oh I forgot the hot tub - that was great too!

Julia was a brilliant host from booking until check out! The cottage was absolutely stunning and so was the surrounding areas. Julia was very friendly and helpful, we went as a group of work friends and was being a little too loud without realising, Julia was understanding and just politely asked if we could quieten a little outside due to neighbours, to which we apologised and enjoyed our night. I would definitely return in the future, hopefully with the family for a longer stay. Thank you so much Julia!!!!!

What a wonderful place for a peaceful break away. The house was so comfortable with all the amenities needed. The hot tub was a lovely addition too! My son, who loves wildlife photography, absolutely adored the river. He spent every possible moment down there photographing Kingfishers! I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves birds and wildlife.

Beautiful cosy cottage, fabulously decorated and fitted out to a high standard. The location was beautiful and quiet, very rural area. It was an ideal place to get away from everything and relax. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for romantic getaway or just need to get away from the stresses of life for a few days.

What a joy it was to stay in this gorgeous cottage! It was the perfect escape in the Lake District. The property is stunning and the location wonderful. The grounds are so serene and beautiful you almost don’t need to ever leave! The cottage is lovely and quaint and very comfortable. We loved having a log fire at night and the beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed using the hot tub and sauna—felt like a private spa getaway! Marc and Ruth were so responsive and helpful. It was so nice. Hope to definitely come back someday with my family!

We arrived on the Friday for a 3 night stay. The Barn is in a beautiful place inside and out. The Hot Tub was lovely on an evening and the patio fire was great to sit around for drinks early evening watching the Sun go down. Casterton village is only a couple of miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. The village its self had a gorgeous pub 7 mins walk from the Barn which had a great range of food and served Sourdough pizza on Sunday evening after 1700hrs with a lovely warm atmosphere and open fires. There is a great taxi service and some fabulous restaurants near to the Barn. The Black Bull and the Highwayman were fabulous. (We did go to Number 9 also and it was not somewhere I could recommend, service and food really poor.) Patrick and Anika were great responsive hosts and this is a do not miss property, that offers every you need for a fabulous stay. Our little group loved it. Thank you Karen, Denise and Naomi

We loved the cottage and the hot tub was an added bonus each day after a long walk. It was very quiet, which we like. The cottage was furnished to a high quality and the bed was really comfy. There is plenty of lovely walks close by. We would certainly visit again.

Stayed for a couple of nights to explore the Dales. Lovely, cute cottage with everything you’d need. Private garden was ideal for the dog to stretch his legs and some fantastic walks literally from the doorstep. Carole was always on hand for advice and local knowledge! Would definitely come back and stay again

What an absolute gem we found in Apple House. The pictures really don't do the whole place justice! A cosy, romantic house set in beautiful, serene surroundings. It really was the perfect location for our mini moon! Was lovely to be greeted by the chickens and Russel the dog each morning <3 We were treated to some tasty welcome gifts and the place was spotless, very comfy bed and just the most charming decor. Thank you so much Emma and Craig! We will definitely be returning with more of our family!

The cottage was exactly what was listed and what we were looking for. The Host was always responsive and friendly with many helpful details. What a find Burneside cottage was. It was immaculately clean and had everything you could possibly want and more. Felt right at home from the minute we arrived. Comfortable lounge with log burner which came in handy with the cooler weather although the heating was sufficient it gave that bit extra. Gayle is a great place to base yourself to explore the Dales and surrounding areas. Absolutely beautiful. It was a short walk into Hawes of around 10mins or so where there are a couple grocery stores selling most things. We found The Wensleydale Pantry great value and the home cooked food and extensive menu was superb. The Wensleydale creamery is about a 5min walk and the cheese making experience is worth going to. All in all a brilliant cottage to stay in and I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks for everything Alyson including the great scones, jam, bread and milk on arrival. Andy & Jackie. Andy

Wow! What a fantastic place to stay. The cottage was a perfect haven for a relaxing holiday. The scenery was breathtaking, and we spent much of the time gazing out of the window at the dramatic weather and wildlife. We wished we could have stayed longer! Perfect! Exactly what we wanted, the cottage was pristine and equipped to a high standard with everything you need. Although dogs are welcome you would never know that a dog had been anywhere near. The location is secluded and peaceful with great views with horse stables next door and horses in the field. Swallows nesting in the stables constantly flying around. The enclosed garden is ideal for dogs to wander freely safely. Joanna is a great friendly host responsive and only too happy to help. Would highly recommend!

The cottage was ideal for our four night visit to the area with two young children. The cottage was clean, pretty, and comfortable, with thoughtful notes around the house to make everything easy to find. The lovely window seat overlooking the river was a favourite spot and the gorgeous garden were we could eat outside watching the wildlife over the river was perfect and so peaceful! The folder of useful places to visit was super handy and the children loved the local walks and in particular the fabulous tea room (great menu for adults and children). It’s only 30 minutes to the bottom of the lakes and caves and waterfalls within 20min meant there was lots to see for us as a young family. Claire was really helpful in her recommendations and she has a friendly neighbour who was happy to guide us too. The village is a lovely community of welcoming people. The children particularly loved the house for the river, the games room and the treats that Claire left in the kitchen to welcome us!

Had a fabulous time here for my husband's birthday. cottage was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. It was the little extras from Emma and Greg that made it super special. we'll definitely be back. I would definitely recommend - perfect xxx

We had a lovely stay in the cottage over New Year’s Eve. The wood burner made it feel very cosy, and it’s really well equipped - it has pretty much everything you might need for a few nights stay. The location is perfect for walking - we did a couple straight from the cottage, with really varied landscapes which were absolutely stunning, including rivers, big vistas and farmland, ending with an excellent pub in Gunnerside. Just a couple of things, which wouldn’t bring my review score down but worth noting - we couldn’t get the washing machine to work, which didn’t really matter to us but worth checking with Harriet if it’s an essential. Also, the hairdryer wasn’t great so worth bringing your own if your hair takes hours to dry like mine! Lastly, the sound system is pretty old and doesn’t have Bluetooth, so better bring a speaker if you like listening to music. Overall, we loved the cottage and had a fantastic stay!

We were delighted to be be back in Masham again. Everyone is so friendly, and it’s ideal for visiting or walking in the Dales and the many lovely places nearby. The cottage itself is in a great location too - in the corner of the Market place, yet quiet and peaceful. It has everything we could ask for and is very clean and cosy. Thank you Ulicia, we hope to return again before too long!

Judi’s cottage is perfect in every way. With high quality furnishings, it’s well presented, in excellent condition, spotlessly clean and in a very peaceful location. Whilst it’s close to the main house, the cottage has it’s own private entrance and garden space, with the hosts being very respectful of guest privacy. The gardens are amazing and a great place to unwind. The location of the cottage makes an ideal base for visiting the main attractions in North Yorkshire and beyond. We would be delighted to stay here again on our next visit to the area.

What a find! We had such a wonderful stay at this peaceful cottage in near Hebden Bridge. From the moment we arrived, we felt a sense of calm. The cottage itself is stunning – beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. The interior is gorgeous – thoughtful touches throughout, making it feel very much like a home away from home. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay (plus an amazing sauna!) Carolyn and Brian were friendly responsive host and made sure we had everything we needed. We particularly appreciated the quiet location, which allowed for truly restful nights. It's a pleasant walk into town, making it easy to enjoy everything Hebden Bridge has to offer, while still feeling secluded. We can't wait to come back!

We had a lovely stay at Molly’s cottage! We stayed for our 5 year anniversary and it was incredibly serene and peaceful. It was really spacious for 2 people and had everything that was promised. Lots of great music choices for the CD player, great board game options and some great reading material. It was squeaky clean and beautifully decorated. The log burner was perfection for a cosy night in. Couldn’t recommend enough! Thank you for a wonderful stay! We’ll definitely be back! X
