The space
Shoot a round of petanque while you enjoy sweeping views of Hawkes Bay at this renovated farmhouse 17-minutes outside of Napier. Before an alfresco dinner with the family, sneak away with that special someone for a walk through the orchard and vegetable gardens. After you’ve eaten, mix up a few classic cocktails to sip in the poolside lounge. In the morning, check out some of the wineries nearby.

Situated on 10-acres, at the end of a private, oak-lined driveway, Summerlee is a truly secluded escape that combines coastal and farm environments. The house is recently renovated, showing off modern architectural updates, contemporary furniture, and an open-concept layout that will surely inspire group activity. Outside, multiple terrace lounges, a pool and spa, and a tennis court set the stage for exciting afternoons. The fully equipped kitchen is sure to inspire your inner chef. And, there’s a fridge, sink, and rotisserie barbecue in the pool house.

Within a 20-minute walk of Summerlee, you’ll find a few beautiful vineyards with tasting rooms, tours, and small restaurants. If you’re in town on Sunday, the Hastings Market is a great spot to pick up some fresh local produce for the week. When you’re ready to hit the beach, walk 10-minutes to Te Awanga Village, where you’ll find quaint shops and cafes close to the sandy shore. If you find yourself craving city life, Napier is your best bet for nightlife and shopping.
