The space

It’s nestled into 2 acres in Broken Head Forest, so rainforest canopy fills floor-to-ceiling windows and rustling leaves serves as soundtrack. A 7-minute drive leads to the family-friendly beach and surf break at Broken Head Beach.

Morning coffee and alfresco dinners are a breeze on the covered alfresco sitting area and the umbrella-shaded outdoor dining table. Follow the steps past a sun-splashed terrace and shaded loungers to the private infinity pool overlooking the forest.

Drawing inspiration from mid-century ranch homes, with their vaulted ceilings and clerestory windows, the villa takes the airy feel to another level with a slide-away glass wall between great room and terrace. Blond-wood details adorn the living and dining areas, and a waterfall countertop adds even more natural texture in the skylight-brightened, fully equipped kitchen. A separate family room has a sectional perfect for stretching out and watching TV.

It’s just a 4-minute drive from the villa’s relative seclusion to Broken Head Beach, a sandy curve tucked beneath the headland that’s often quieter than some of the area’s other beaches. If you’re looking for beach festivals, surf lessons, whale-watching and snorkeling excursions, and great shopping and dining, make the 10-minute drive to Byron Bay.
