The "Chateau" is a Maison de Maitre built in 1874, located close to the Route des Grands Vin, 25 km from Beaune, and close to Auxey-Duresses, Pommard and Meursault. It was named the "Chateau" in the 19th century by the inhabitants of the municipality of Val-Mont.
