Cosy one-bedroom cottage with rocky coastal views

FeliceRating, 5 stars1 month ago
An amazing stay on a stunning island. The location is perfect if you are looking for peace, with the advantage of having the small cute village of Portnahaven 15min away on foot or less than 5 min by car, where you have a tiny pub serving delicious and incredibly fresh seafood. There is a beautiful little beach 10min away on foot (Carrie Sands). Port Charlotte is 15min away by car, on a single track but easy to drive road (plenty of passing points) with stunning views - you can’t get tired of the drive, it is stunning each time! If touring distilleries, Bruichladdich and Kilkhoman are quite close (less than 30min), pencil in longer travel times for the east side distilleries (e.g. 40-45 for caol ila/bunnahabhain/ardnahoe), up to 1h for the trio Laphroig/ Lagavulin/Ardbeg). However, again, it is a great drive with wonderful views. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated, spotless clean and has everything needed for either a short or long stay. Self check in is super convenient.

The Wee Hut

One of the most beautiful and comfortable airbnbs I’ve stayed in! The location was gorgeous, Rosie was beyond helpful and welcoming, including having freshly baked bread ready for us on arrival! The hut was very clean and warm. The kitchen was even better equipped than my kitchen at home. On top of all of that the yoga class was one of the most enjoyable I’ve ever done, it was so relaxing. Lovely sauna session as well!! Truly can’t recommend this place more.

Saddler's Brae, seafront house in Port Charlotte

KeithRating, 5 stars6 days ago
We loved the house which has a stunning location beside the shore and wonderful views. The house had everything we needed. Only one shower so a bit of planning required in the morning but absolutely no problem. Very short walk to The Port Charlotte Hotel where we had a great meal. About 30 mins to The Machrie for fantastic golf. Laurie’s communication was spot on, not too much, not too little. Would definitely book again. Keith

The Woods at Whitepark Bay

BillyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had such a wonderful stay at Steven and Emily’s. The location was right off a main road and was easy to spot with the given instructions. We had a smooth check in/out as Steven gave us thorough instructions and made getting the key quick and simple. The location itself was very private and felt so magical. Steven and Emily stocked the place with local snacks and groceries which made our meals much more manageable in the early and late hours (as many places may not be open). The amenities were great and provided for all of our needs during our stay. One of the biggest highlights was the hot tub, which Steven and Emily heated up for us in anticipation of our arrival. Our only hiccup was that there were a few spiders on the ceiling upon check-in, which Steven quickly came by to clean and take care of. This was not their fault as it’s inevitable for some bugs to find their way in this time of year. Steven’s communication was a huge highlight to the stay and made us feel so welcomed.

Leorin Cottage-Traditional farm cottage

IvanRating, 5 stars1 day ago
Jess is a great host. When we got to the cottage it was very easy to get in and then Jess stopped by to see how we were doing and she gave us so much information about what to do, where to eat, and where to fish. The cottage is outside the village, very peaceful, surrounded by fields with sheep and cows grazing, but still close, only 5 minutes away from restaurants, shops, distilleries, and ferry terminal. You can park your car just outside the cottage. Inside the cottage is very cosy, warm and comfortable. It has a very well equipped kitchen, a nice shower room and even a cloakroom. Highly recommended for couples.

Mattie’s House 17 Ardview

LarsRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We stayed 5 splendid nights at Mattie's place. It is at the start of the three distilleries walk (Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Ardbeg) making it possible to enjoy a dram without a designated driver. There are two shops in Port Ellen making self-catering easy.
