Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in Macumba Beach

Wonderful place, people and the breakfeast is a great bonus. Overall a great value plus its very very safe.

This was our first trip to Brazil, and we spent four days at Charles' home in Rio. It was simply a wonderful time. The rooms (from which, there are three to choose), were clean, spacious and comfortable. They all are directly accessible from a lovely garden terrace overlooking the beautiful valley and mountains of Rio, straight up to the breathtaking statue of the Christ!!  Charles' creative use of space has provided every amenity you could possibly need to make his house your temporary home.  With a fully covered outdoor kitchen, two marble picnic tables and two BBQ grills (all of which, is for your personal use), you may find yourself struggling to choose between going out on the town for dinner, or running down to the local market to grab some fresh fish and vegetables and a nice bottle of Brazilian Moscato and enjoying a home cooked candle-lit dinner under the stars.  However, if you do decide to head into town for the night (or day), you are just minutes by foot from Botafogo Beach with views of the Yacht Club and Sugerloaf mountain, or by taxi to the sands of Copacabana and Ipanema beaches and the endless shopping and fine dining establishments between them. In short, we can't imagine a better way to have visited Rio, Brazil, or for that matter, South America for the first time.  Charles was a wonderful host and went well above and beyond to see to our every need and comfort. We will definitely be telling our family and friends not to mention returning ourselves.  But more than that, we might just bring a few of them along with us next time... or maybe we should just keep Charles' little slice of heaven to ourselves!!!

La estadía donde Vera estuvo mejor de lo que esperábamos. Ella es muy amable, siempre se demostró dispuesta a ayudar, el lugar estaba impecable, el baño también, y las áreas comunes son muy lindas y cómodas. Recomiendo 100% su casa, ya que jamás tuvimos inconvenientes y lo pasamos muy bien! Definitivamente volveremos

Foi excelente a estadia! A facilidade de acesso mais a próximidade com a Lapa facilitaram muito as idas e vindas para os diversos pontos do Rio. Fui muito bem recebido pela equipe que tirou quaisquer dúvidas que eu viria a ter. Conforme já comentado diretamente com eles com certeza será aonde ficarei quando voltar ao Rio!

Bindu is a fantastic host! Every morning she is super helpful about tips on where to go in Rio based on our interests. We lived her 7 days with our two kids (aged 6 and 9) who really loved to swim in the pool and hang out at home when we needed a break from the big city. Extremely delicious breakfast too. It has been amazing to live here!

Adorei a acomodação. O Sr. Stanley e seus funcionários são uns queridos e educados! Lugar lindo e aconchegante. Fui muito bem recebida, minha acomodação foi até melhor do que esperava! Vale muito a pena se hospedar lá! Voltarei com certeza!

Tivemos uma estadia maravilhosa. Paulo foi um anfitrião extremamente atencioso, gentil, educado e sempre disponível para ajudar com qualquer dúvida e nos fez sentir muito bem-vindos desde o início. Me senti em casa, é exatamente como descrita – confortável, limpa e muito bem equipada, com todos os itens necessários para uma estadia tranquila. Sem contar da vista maravilhosa para o Cristo Redentor. Recomendamos fortemente a hospedagem com o Paulo e, com certeza, voltaremos a nos hospedar lá! Gratidão

Estou extremamente feliz com minha estadia, Ariela e Anderson super simpáticos, nos receberam muito bem, me senti em casa! O espaço é lindo, tudo bem limpo e organizado, Ariela me passou as instruções do começo ao fim, sempre solicita, comida deliciosa e café da manhã simples perfeito, com toda certeza voltarei, valeu cada segundo.

Dacia y Desiree fueron muy amables con nosotras y nos recibieron de la mejor manera posible. Tuvimos un inconveniente con el hospedaje anterior, del cual tuvimos que irnos con urgencia, y ellas nos dijeron que podíamos ir sin que les avisáramos con mucha anticipación. En el hospedaje de Dacia nos sentimos contenidas, en un ambiente relajado y amigable. El desayuno que prepara Desiree es delicioso, y la habitación era amplia y cómoda. Tuvimos un pequeño inconveniente con el agua caliente de la ducha, pero Dacia nos brindó una alternativa y se solucionó el problema rápidamente. Recomendamos este lugar a todas las personas que quieran sentirse rodeadas de personas amables, amigables y atentas. El barrio es preciosísimo. Ojalá podamos volver :)

Local muito bem localizado, Alexandre é um anfitrião maravilhoso e te faz se sentir em casa. Quando retornar ao Rio ficarei lá de novo. Super recomendo!

Tudo perfeito! Limpeza, organização, localização e um dos melhores cafés da manhã que já comi. Dacia e sua mãe são pessoas incríveis. Indico o local de olhos fechados com a certeza que voltarei algum dia.

Hermoso lugar con mucho encanto y dedicación, rodeado de un entorno que transporta a la naturaleza de Río de Janeiro dentro de la misma ciudad. Los anfitriones fueron muy hoapitalarios y atentos, en todo momento preocupados de hasta el más mínimo detalle. La habitación era hermosa, muy acogedora e impecable. Además tiene estancias donde se puede compartir, incluida una maravillosa piscina. Totalmente recomendado 👌🏻

Amei estar num domingo de sol com meus filhos nesse local. Com certeza Voltarei mais vezes. Fernanda é nota 10, meus filhos amaram!

Fiquei hospedada no réveillon. O local é lindo e enorme. Tudo muito limpo, café dá manhã satisfatório, funcionários extremamente gentis e educados. Anfitrião atencioso e respeitoso. Agradeço a hospitalidade e super indico.

I am SO happy my bestie chose this Airbnb. He came last year and loved it so when I told him I wanted to join his annual trip to Rio, he insisted we stay here. Now I understand why. This is the most charming Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at. This home is enchanted. I had the best and most restorative sleep here every night. The beds were cozy. The bathroom is stunning. The whole house is full of beautiful local art. There’s attention placed into every detail of the home and the experience itself. Opt for the breakfast. A great way to start the day. There’s a gym nearby where you can get a cheap weekly pass. 20 min Uber to the beach ($3 or $4 USD). Walking distance from the entrance to Christ the Redeemer if that’s your thing. Such an amazing host and beautiful spirit. I asked for thread to sew something and she did it for me. Genuinely, she’s SO kind! She also sent out our laundry as an add on. I hope to visit again someday soon. Magical place! Thank you thank you thank you!

Bruno war soo unglaublich herzlich und lieb. Das Frühstück wurde speziell für uns gerichtet. Eine sehr lebendige und sehr sichere Umgebung, ruhig gelegen 5min zu Fuß zur Copacabana. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber. Die Unterkunft sieht so aus wie auf den Bildern Bruno als Gastgeber kann ich nur von Herzen weiterempfehlen ❤️

Praia tranquila, bairro seguro, a regiao falta um pouco de opçao anoite. Hospedagem excelente, quarto com uma visão maravilhosa, camas mto aconchegantes, pegamos tudo mto limpinho. Utilizamos a area comum com churrasqueira e nos sentimos em casa. Unico ponto negativo é falta de estacionamento e acesso dificil, o que é a dificuldade de todas as pousadas da região.

I stayed at CasaJomo Art at the very end of my time in Rio, and I genuinely wish I had found it sooner! The neighborhood had a charming, small-community feel, free from the usual tourist crowds, which made it even more special. The property itself was perfect—beautifully maintained, with spacious and private rooms. Breakfast was a highlight, with fresh fruit and delicious offerings each morning. But what truly sets this place apart is the incredible family who runs it. Their hospitality is unmatched; they welcomed me with open arms, making me feel safe, cared for, and completely at home. It was clear they simply wanted me to have the best experience possible, and they went above and beyond to make that happen. Would absolutely stay here again!

Adoramos a estadia. Pousada linda, café da manhã (não incluso) gostoso e caprichado. Os funcionários são muito solícitos. O bairro é lindo, com muitos restaurantes, mas de dificil acesso, já que muitos ubers e taxis não aceitavam corrida pra chegar e sair do bairro. No mais, adoramos a experiência.

Perfect little area, nice and quiet. Everything just walking distance. Bruno went above and beyond giving us recommendations to do and eat. Anything I needed he was willing to help. Great time there
