Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Madawaska Valley

The cottage is very homie and perfect for what we needed. The pictures don’t do it justice, it is a very gorgeous place and has great views. Would definitely come back!

Roberta's place was everything we anticipated and more. Serene location, private, quiet. The four of us (adults) spent our whole days hiking, so coming at the end of the day to a beautifully kept, inviting place was was very calming. The kitchen (and other rooms) was very well equipped (no clutter) and organized in a very practical way. Both the cleanliness and decor were very inviting. Although we had our own, the free park permit was a nice touch. A fire place inside and a fire pit outside plus a lovely view of the lake from the back deck added charm to our evenings. The host was responsive, proactive and provided clear instructions how to find the place that occasionally Goggle may get confused about. Thank you, Roberta!

The nortehaus was definitely an inspiring and well designed space we enjoyed. Nestled in the middle of nature, you can definitely feel the calmness and quietness of it all. Parker was responsive and made sure our stay was seamless. Would book again!

A beautiful cottage on a pristine lake. Beautiful spacious well equipped deck overlooking a swimable sandy beach front. You can walk out into the lake in what seems to be forever enjoying a sandy bottom - no weeds, no rocks!! Comfy fire pit and bbq conveniently located near the beach. Cottage was bright, open concept with a modern kitchen, great appliances and expansive dining room table for great gatherings and game nights. Three comfy bedrooms and clean washroom. Great communication with Tania. Very responsive. Will definitely consider returning next summer. Thoroughly enjoyed our week at the cottage.

The rental place is clean and well organized. Nina is quick to respond. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place in the area.

Kaitlyn’s apartment is very sweet and well appointed. I had everything I needed, especially in the kitchen. It was very clean and comfortable. Perfect for my purposes. For those with mobility issues, it would present issues, as there is a fairly steep flight of stairs to the entrance. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.

We had a great stay. The resort and cabin were beautiful and the hospitality was truly wonderful. Tom and Erin (weekday) and Matt and Lindsey (weekend) were absolutely wonderful hosts. Check-in and out was a breeze. The cabin was perfect for the space we needed. The cabin was a bit hot during the day but it cools down at night and they provide extra fans for your comfort. The private dock and fire pit was an added bonus. The water is clear and the temperature was perfect, especially for June. The amenities were great - sauna, water toys, outdoor gym, indoor and outdoor games etc. It is close to town - 20 minutes, and they even have an office shop that runs on an honour system (which we loved) for any items you may forget! It was a truly wonderful weekend. We would recommend this spot to anyone and will definitely be back!

I am working on Stoney Lake for another year and Owen's place is always my go-to! The Airbnb has an extremely large parking area for my large trucks, boats, and other equipment. It is always a pleasure to visit with the hosts and to enjoy the peaceful surroundings that their property offers. I highly recommend this Airbnb to families, contractors, and anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in the Kawartha's.

Wonderful hosts with outstanding HOT homemade breakfasts! Really appreciated the extra perks of magnifier make-up mirror, house coat, lush towels, several Keurig coffee pod choices and 2 choices for my own private exterior sitting area. Level access and close parking to entrance, extra wide interior doors. MaryAnn was spot on for my food choices even including 10% cream for my morning coffee and crisp bacon. Very large space with two large bedrooms, slept like a baby and the TV included all the streaming you would want Close to Art College and short drive into town of Haliburton. It was a bit chilly for June but Gerry turned on the propane fireplace then all was cozy. Book it - you won't be disappointed!

Amazing place to stay in Bancroft. Close to the Main Street and surroundings. We arrived late and she made sure to keep the outside lights for us! Very caring host and great little place to stay. Comfortable beds and super clean bathroom.

Had a fantastic time here for my fiancées 30th. Couldn’t recommend more. Philippe worked hard to make sure it was a trip we won’t soon forget. 10/10

The accommodations at one time were beautiful. The house is large with many beautiful features (huge kitchen with all the amenities), large master bedroom and private en-suite, large deck with a view of the lake, and updated gas BBQ. The lake is absolutely beautiful as well. In fact, it’s one of the nicest lakes we have visited. However, the house needs a deep clean, some TLC and updating. All the screens to the doors were broken, some drawers in the kitchen were separating from their surfaces, dead bugs lay on the window sills, the floors could use a good scrub, there is a hole in the gangway to the dock, and the ladder to the dock is loose and unsafe to use. We were told there were two canoes. One was in great shape and even had seats with backs. The other should be laid to rest, as it literally was falling apart. We also found out that we could not dock a boat there because of a dispute with a neighbor. Unfortunately, the dryer broke down while we were there. We suspect that it had never been cleaned as the filter would not go in completely from all the lint and debris from years of use. We had paid for a cleaning service, but were informed a few days before arrival that the service was not available due to COVID-19 and that guests were expected to clean. The owner offered to cancel our reservation but at this late date we could not have arranged for new accommodations or for our own cleaning service. We had booked the accommodations for August. Surely, the information about the cleaning service was known months in advance since the pandemic started in February/March. The previous guests had cleaned our bathrooms and made the beds, but dishes were left in the dishwasher and on the drying rack, and tea towels and some bathroom towels were left dirty. We brought our own towels thankfully. On our last day, instead of enjoying our few remaining hours at the cottage, we spent four hours cleaning for the next guests, and quite honestly we could not do the thorough job of hired cleaning staff. The owner did reimburse us for the cleaning service, but we did not get back our time! With some TLC, repairs, and a real cleaning service, this place could have been a gem.

Christine communicated well and provided a list of all requirements. The lake and dock is absolutely perfect. A few steps down to the water but the shallow waterfront makes up for it. Awesome spots for kids to be swimming without worry. Lots of space.

David and Mimi’s place was gorgeous and had everything we needed for our stay. Great for families and kids. We enjoyed canoeing and kayaking on the private lake. They were very communicative and responsive, generous and thoughtful. We definitely recommend this place!

Even more beautiful than the photos, the house and surroundings were beyond our expectations. Our family only were able to spend a few days but every minute was enjoyed. The waterfront is very accessible and was loads of fun.

We had an unforgettable experience during our stay and look forward to returning next year. The island was beautiful, the many different houses accommodated our large group and each family of the 5 that went had their own space to unwind. The kitchen was beautiful and made meal prep and cooking so easy. The kida had lots to do with basketball, board games, mini pool tables, hot tub and the highlight was definitely the swimming. The water was great, warm and clear at any given time during the day and the kids had so much fun jumping off the docks, using the paddle boats and the canoes. We all had such a great time and are so thankful to Marla and Sherri-an employee who helped us when we checked in and checked out- Sherri was a great help, kind, friendly, hospitable and even recommended a different cottage with less steps for next year that I will definitely look into because it was a beautiful experience. Don't think twice about booking your stay here my family and I loved it!
