Einfach nur wow! Damit meine ich nicht den Bikini-Beach, der mit Schatten-Hütten, paradiesischem Sand, einem kindgerechten Einstieg und komfortabler Größe glänzt. Ganz zu schweigen von den Riffen innerhalb weniger Meter, die Schnorcheln am Strand ermöglichen, wie ich es noch nicht kannte. Auch nicht meine ich die reizende Insel mit ihren freundlichen Menschen, die zu barfuß-Spaziergängen in alle Himmelsrichtungen einlädt. Kurz nachdem man denkt, man hat sich verlaufen, weiß man wieder wo man ist. Nein, das besonderste an unseren 5 Tagen Feridhoo waren unsere Gastgeber im Feridhoo Inn. Abu als Chef ist ein ebenso geselliger wie seriöser Organisator, der erkennt, was seine Gäste wünschen und brauchen. Sein englisch ist exzellent. Ebenso wie sein Koch aus Bangladesch, der gegrillten Fisch zaubert und dessen herzhaften Thunfisch-Roshis jeden Morgen versüßt haben. Der dritte im Bunde war Fati, für dessen Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit mir die Worte fehlen. Fahrt nach Feridhoo, so lange es dort touristisch noch so überschaubar ist.

Мы остановились у Ахмеда и его помощника Бенджи на 3 недели. Нам очень понравилось, еще до приезда Ахмед отвечал на все вопросы и помогал с организацией поездки. После приезда ребята нас тепло встретили и окружали заботой все время пока мы отдыхали. Бенджи очень добрый и открытый человек, организовывал нам экскурсии и развлечения, видно было что сделано все от души, а не ради денег. Организовывали также питание в соседних кафе. Комната была просторная и комфортная, убирались вовремя и хорошо. Особенно была великолепна экскурсия на необитаемый остров, где мы провели вечер, ночь и утро вдвоем. Готовили ужин на костре, ловили рыбу и ночевали в палатке. Мы довольны нашим пребываем в Finimas Residence, Ахмеду и Бенджи желаем успеха и процветания! Спасибо ребятам за незабываемый отдых!!!

I am just back from 9 nights staying at the guest house on Mulah in the Maldives and we had a fantastic time. Adil (Roashanne) is incredibly helpful in helping to organise the trip (boats and transfer to his Island) and his sister Aiminath is very friendly. The accommodation is simple but comfortable and clean, spacious with AC and hot water and a real bonus is the roof terrace which has a kitchen and tables chairs. I was surfing with my son, so having this additional space was really useful, and gives you the option of having your own breakfast / dinners. Reading the previous review I think that a great stay on Mulah depends on what you are looking for and your expectations. If you want to stay on a resort island, exclusively for tourists or you want to go sunbathing on a lounger in your bikini / swim shorts then probably Mulah isn't for you but of course the resorts are a lot more expensive and personally I find them a bit sterile. As Mulah is a living and working island and is not that touristy then it shouldn’t be compared to a resort. The Islanders are incredibly friendly and welcoming and the Island has a lovely feel and pace. It is pretty with palm lined coastline and the houses are colourful and often have lovely gardens and plants surrounding them. The island is small and easy to walk around with little traffic – mainly made up of bikes and mopeds. Next to the apartment is the main beach, which also acts like a square or plaza. Lots of communal areas with rope chairs and is very clean. A great place to sit in the evening and buy a magnum ice cream and watch the crabs scuttle around. There are 2 simple but good local restaurants with terraces with sea views. There are a couple of well stocked little supermarkets. For those who like to be a bit more active then Mulah is really interesting. There is a surf break at the South East of the Island (reef – intermediates and above) and other surf breaks can be visited by boat (you need to bring your own gear). At the North East of the Island is a quieter beach (tidal) which is great for slinging a hammock up and watching the sunset. Lots of fishing options either from the piers or by arranging a boats. Snorkling is an option – lots of fish , rays and turtles but similarly to many places unfortunately the local reef is fairly degraded. The water is clean and very clear. Surfing with turtles was a real highlight ! We surfed and went fishing with a local guide Mode who was fantastic. A note on rubbish – the main beach is kept spotlessly clean by the islanders, but on the other beaches and particularly the palm forests beside the beaches there is a lot of plastic that has swept in. When we visited a resort for a day a large number of people were employed in removing plastic and keeping it pristine. On Mulah this is not possible but the plastic issue is a tragic but global one and an issue that we are all partly responsible for as consumers. That said we found Mulah a lovely place to stay. I’d recommend Mulah and the guest house highly. We had a great time.

Hameed is incredibly accommodating and will give you all the Intel about any activity you want to do on the island.

We had an amazing stay with our two kids at the Koimala Beach Inn! We stayed for two months, and wished we could have stayed at least twice as long. The location is perfect. It feels tucked away, quiet and private, but it's very close to the main bikini beach area (50-250m, depending on which part of the beach you want to go to) as well as restaurants, shops, etc. The food is delicious. Our booking only included breakfast, and we were originally planning to try some of the other restaurants on the island for our other meals. But the food at Koimala was so good and so reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was so pleasant, that we ended up eating almost every single meal there. Yes, for two months! The kids loved the food too, and Abdulla was very kind and creative about adjusting meals to fit our preferences when necessary. (For example, adapting fish dishes to suit a non-fish-eater.) The breakfasts (in particular the two Maldivian-style breakfast options) were delicious and filling and the included fruit plate was a nice touch.(We later found out that they also offer half and full board options, so ask about that if you're interested.) The rooms are well-designed with nice touches like rain shower heads, universal power sockets and gentle indirect lighting. Traveling with two small children, we also really appreciated the built-in desk and shelves that gave us lots of space to put things out of reach of little hands. There were also lots of nice extras included that we didn't expect, like free filtered drinking water, beach towels and beach chairs, and free snorkeling gear to borrow. Each meal in the restaurant included free drinking water and fruit juice, which was a very nice touch. We were happy to see that Abdulla was making efforts to reduce plastic waste on the island by using stainless steel straws (the kids loved them) and reusable glass water bottles. For us, the garden was even more important than the room itself. It was the thing that made us choose Koimala when booking our stay, and it was even better than we expected. The photos in the listing don't do it justice. The garden is compact, but is designed in such a way that it really defines the atmosphere of the guesthouse. There's nothing like sitting on a swing hanging from the coconut palms, gazing up at the stars and enjoying a gentle tropical breeze. The restaurant tables are also set in the garden (under a thatched roof), so you can dig your toes into powdery white sand and watch the swaying palms while enjoying your meal. This won't be relevant for everyone, but since we had two small children with us (ages 1 and 4), the garden was incredibly practical as an outdoor play space. It is walled, with a gate/door at each entrance, so we could let the kids run around freely without worrying that they would disappear. This was particularly nice during meals, and also as a covered play space during the occassional rain shower. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the people at Koimala are amazing. We quickly felt at home there, and by the time we left, everyone there felt like family. Abdulla works tirelessly to be sure that all of his guests are happy and taken care of. (He used to work at some of the most exclusive restaurants and resorts in the Maldives, and is clearly master of the 'guest experience'.) He's also a really nice and interesting guy, and we loved just chatting with him, hearing about his experiences, interests and plans, and learning more about the history and culture of the Maldives. Faruk, Lakey and Auntie all quickly befriended our kids and carried them around, took them for walks, helped them to pick fruit, etc. We miss them all and still keep in touch. tl;dr: Book Koimala. You won't be sorry.

Looking for an AMAZING experience in the Maldives but don't want to pay resort prices or you want the local experience? Then, Haneef's place is for you. We went to Malhoos over Eid and were welcomed like family into the island festivities, and there were PLENTY of festivities to see and participate in if we chose. The guest house was full because of the holiday but it didn't feel crowded. The staff is so kind and helpful with whatever you need. I'm telling all my friends about Haneef's place if they are considering a trip to the Maldives. Everybody should see the kindness of the people and the amazing water and beaches that the Guest House is located right next to. Nothing like sleeping and waking up to the sound of waves and eating breakfast on the beach. We were sad to leave.

Excellent hotel on a local island. Rooms were nicely sized and staff was friendly and helpful. I’d highly recommend taking advantage of their boarding options as the food is fantastic. We worked closely with their affiliated dive shop and loved the experience. There are a few local shops for groceries, souvenirs, and handicrafts as well. Highly recommend!

Karan’s place was great. It’s across the street from the beach so you can walk the shoreline. The rules in this country say no beach bikini and you can’t really show skin, so they will recommend daily excursions to other islands if you came to swim, lay out/burn, or walk around uncovered in the sun… the staff here are amazing, and they do a Great Job telling you things to do according to your budget. Unaish (front desk manager) was the best I’ve ever seen with helping us navigate and understand the Muslim rules and laws! Thank You All that helped us!

We had a great time at Ganduvaru. The house is spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. There is a private front yard and a big shared backyard. It’s a short distance to Brickwood hotel, where you can have your breakfast (house is part of the hotel). All in all a great house for family/ friends. The staff was absolutely amazing, especially Shavin. He’s always available and very helpful. A big thanks to all the staff at Brickwood ♥️

Hemos pasado 3 noches en este estupendo hotel, que no le falta un detalle. Es muy bonito y muy limpio y cómodo. Comimos varias veces en su restaurante, comida exquisita!!! Nuestras felicitaciones al cheff!!! Por la noche hay un bufet en el que puedes degustar sus platos excelentes (eso si, picante)., o comer a la carta. Puedes comer por 15 o 20$ Las excursiones se hacen en un barco propio del hotel. Hicimos 2 excursiones, bien de precio para lo que es Maldivas( 35$ incluyendo picnic) Una era a una isla picnic y la otra a un banco de arena. No sabría decir cuál era mejor... Visham y su equipo son excelentes personas, te ayudan en todo lo que necesitas, y han sido muy cariñosos con mi hijo de 3 años. FELICIDADES A TODOS!!! Espero de corazón volver pronto!!

Ich kann dir die Unterkunft empfehlen. Zwar war mein Zimmer anders als auf dem Foto, aber das hat mich nicht gestört. Es gab sogar jeden Tag Frühstück, und bei Bedarf wurde auch das Zimmer gereinigt. Die Lage ist super und die Hosts sind auch sehr nett. Ich habe einige Inseln besucht und muss sagen, dass diese zu meinen Favoriten zählt. Ich hoffe nur, dass es so ruhig und schön bleibt, da leider überall auf der Insel gebaut wird, was den einheimischen Insel-Flair schnell zerstören kann. Siehe Nachbarinsel Dhigurah, die zwar eine schöne lange Sandbank hat, aber durch die hohen Preise und vielen Touristen nicht mehr punkten kann. Ich komme auf jeden Fall zurück und hoffe, dass die Insel dann noch ihre Unberührtheit behalten hat.

A VERY NICE place to stay indeed, with an affordable price. They will help you to arrange your transportation and so, making sure you are all ready to go once you arrived! The welcome drinks and cold towels are very thoughtful. With the price breakfast is included, the food at the house was also a significant highlight. They have a menu with great variety of options that come in an affordable price (not to mention how good the cooking was!!). Also you can order the catch of the day with them, the fish was very tasty! Staff are very nice, helpful and friendly. They will help you with any inquiries you have and also provide you info you need. You will also be assigned to one of the staff with their number on your key chain so you can contact them at anytime. The house is very spacious, with a pool and a two story roof. You can chill there and watch the sunset, or even to have your dinner there. Also all rooms are connected toa netflix account, so, simply hassle-free.

Wir waren zwar nur kurz auf der Insel Thoddoo, aber wurden total herzlich empfangen und waren super zufrieden mit der Unterkunft. Es gibt Fahrräder die man kostenlos leihen kann um die Insel zu erkunden und Schnorchelsachen kann man ebenfalls kostenlos mit an den Strand nehmen. Es war alles sauber und alle total freundlich. Für den Preis ist die Unterkunft echt nur zu empfehlen :)

La camera per 2 persone più 2 bambini non era molto spaziosa, ma noi l'abbiamo usata solo per dormire. Cambio asciugamani e pulizia quotidiana. L'host è di poche parole, ma gentilissimo! Ci è venuto a prendere fuori orario per problemi con il traghetto e subito accolto in casa in orario differente dal check-in, prenotato il traghetto di ritorno ed accompaganti al porto. Inoltre ci ha preparato colazione abbondante tutte le mattine. Molto consigliato, è stato un piacere stare da lui.

L'équipe de tropic tree, notamment Suhail et Mustapha ont toujours été très reactif et des excellents hôtes. On a adoré notre sejour à tropic tree et vous le recommende. Le rapport qualité prix est excellent.

We truly enjoyed staying at Mazin's hotel, Noovuli Suites. His family, his crew for looked after us so well. Our room was right by the front desk/lounge area. The water pressure is great. I love the outdoor shower design! The sink was a little too high for us so Aziz or Sunday got us a bench to stand on. So nice of them to do that. You can walk around the island. We frequented The Wave for the salad and fried banana fritters. Be patient as everyone is chill. We thoroughly enjoyed night snorkeling. There are certain fish that only come out at night and the temperature was just right. For whale shark tour, be prepared to scramble with 25 other boats. It might not be safe for children. We loved the picnic at the sandbanks and got to see eagle rays and even spotted a black tip reef shark. We got to even watch Mazin spearfish! He looks so cool diving the depths to catch us dinner. We loved being on the island. It's local island so don't expect it to be a resort style type of atmosphere.

Mohamed's AirBNB was an exceptional experience - not just because the place was beautiful, well furnished with everything we could possibly need but the staff that work there are extremely friendly and helpful. Mohamed greeted us at the jetty, checking beforehand if we needed any help with transportation (we did end up needing help as our ferry got cancelled - he was able to secure 2 seats in a short amount of time during a very busy period). He gave us an introduction to the island. Naathi the local guide here was also happy to show us around and take us snorkelling and fishing, teaching us the local lingo. They also had a chef Malu on site that made us food when we asked for it. Everyone was very attentive and kind, taking us to the cafe as well for a chat. The room and bathroom are very well equipped with a mini fridge and water provided, and a very comfortable and quaint place. We enjoyed our stay very much, and will definitely be coming back.
