Family-friendly holiday rentals in Mata de Plátano

Our family of 4 had a great time at the apartment and enjoyed the pool and beach. Having a kitchen was so convenient. We visited the kioskos de Luquillo and El yunque during our stay. Included parking was also a plus.

We had a wonderful stay! Vanessa was especially helpful with getting us checked in and oriented to the condo/building. She also went really above and beyond to check in on us and make sure we had all we needed. Location is fantastic. Pool and beach never crowded. Short walk to the neighboring resort, if you want to use their amenities. Parking on site. Close to El Yunque. Short drive to San Juan, Luquillo, and Fajardo. Highly recommended!

It was a great place to stay for a few days before our cruise. Absolutely beautiful views! Great amenities in the condo. The property was a bit confusing and our driver couldn’t find “cluster 2” and we had to ask a few people for directions. Also hard to get any food delivered. We walked to the main hotel (through the golf course) and ate there. Food was great, but expensive!

Quiet neighborhood that felt safe. Jose’s home was really spacious and the patio was beautiful out back with great views of lush greenery. Places to walk out back. Sleeping was comfortable for the 10 of us that were there. What a great big TV room upstairs and when you open the shutters it was just beautiful. All in all we found the home very nice and relaxing and the location was convenient to San Juan. Some in our group made the trip to the city a couple of times. It rained off and on during our stay, as it often does in the rainforest, but even that looked beautiful under cover of the patio. The community pool is close by, and is nice and large, but I do have to say that it wasn’t that clean on the day we went. Jose was a very responsive and communicative host from time of booking till we left. We had some questions while we were there and he answered almost instantly every time. Thank you Jose for providing a good place for our family to have time together.

We had a great time at Lydia’s place. We had plenty of space, it was very clean, golf cart was great addition, and great views! The king bed was very comfortable. We would definitely come back !

The Happy Yellow Beach house was everything we needed! It was a great location for us to explore Puerto Rico! The home provided all the amenities and space we needed for 6 adults. The pool, hot tub and outdoor spaces were great! We would definitely come back!

Paradise! There were extra sheets, pillows and blankets and an airmatress, which worked out perfect for our family of 4.

Alvy was an amazing host. She had everything I could have needed including beach chairs, a cooler, and towels. She was super responsive and had great recommendations for my kids and I. I would 100% stay here again.

Lovely place, had a great time. well located close to beach and close to town. The swimming pool and playground were great for the kids.

Stayed one day between Vieques ferry and airport. It was a perfect spot to visit Luquillo beach and just unwind before flying home. Lots of great shops and restaurants within walking distance. Mark shared very detailed instructions and tips for the area.

Completely loved the stay!

We loved our stay! The proximity to the beach is unbeatable. The bedrooms were comfortable, and the porch facing the ocean was amazing. Would definitely stay again. Only issue we had was that the tennis court was in too poor condition to play on, but other than that it was a flawless stay. We’ll be back!

100% would stay at Patty's place again! Immediately we all were struck by the cleanliness and beauty. The patio directly overlooks the ocean and the breeze it creates is stunning. Patty was incredibly responsive and super friendly, with excellent recommendations, you feel her love for Puerto Rico immediately. Everything we needed was there! (boogie boards, beach blankets, bags, shampoo, conditioner, kitchen utensils, coffee maker, and more). Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. We felt very safe walking around, everyone we met was super nice and had a great vibe - same with security guards. Driving from airport was easy (we had been nervous for it, but no need) the couple streets into the condo were very narrow but not busy, so easily manageable. Drive to El Yunque was also much easier than we anticipated - as well as drive to Fajardo for Hacienda Chocolat tour and separately our snorkeling excursion to Icaco Island. Thank you Patty for an amazing week of memories.

The place was beautiful, one of the best airbnb i ever stayed. Views were breathtaking apt better than the pictures. Place was spotless🤩. Kathy was the best host ever. Even do she was in Peru she never stop communicating. We were very grateful for everything! We are returning 100%!!

This is a fantastic location, right on the beach. We spent quite a bit of time sipping fruity cocktails while reading and listening to the crash of the waves! Beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water as long as you don’t try to use both showers at the exact same time, great beach access, convenient location to going into both rainforest and back to San Juan for the day. Plenty of towels, beach chairs, etc for relaxing. If you have kids, they will love the crashing waves of Playa Azul or you can walk around to the west toward Luquillo beach where it’s really calm for the little ones

THE VIEW, THE VIEW, THE VIEW! Javier has a corner unit on one of the upper floors of a high-rise building. The corner unit overlooks the ocean, and because of its location, it has sunrises, moonrises, and stunning sunsets (depending on the season). I was there for 2+ months. The unit does not have, nor need, air conditioning because of the constant breeze. Because the windows are always open, the various stainless steel components on the stove and sink are corroding (not dirty, just from the room's moisture). The complex is very secure, with a guard at the entrance to the complex parking lot and the building itself. The best beach I saw in the area is right outside the complex. It has shady palm trees, too. Are you not a beach person? The pool is excellent, with plenty of seating. This unit has beach towels, chairs, and body surfing boards. It also has two comfortable queen beds. It's hard to find anything to complain about! The pictures on Airbnb are accurate.

Right on the beach. Building is as stated in description (exterior needs repair, but that doesn’t affect your stay). Interior has everything you need plus extras. The check in with multiple keys is a little complicated compared to others we’ve stayed in, but that didn’t ruin anything. Don’t leave your food out or the sugar ants will get it. You’re on an island. Main room does not have a/c, but has wind from the beach through doors. Bedrooms have a/c. We had everything we needed for a good week. We also visited Vieques and Culebra.

Betty’s place was perfect for us! We chose Luquillo for the location and it did not disappoint. The condo is walking distance to bars and restaurants! Some of our favorites were Boardriders, Pasta Y Pueblo, the kiosks, The Consorte Cuban club (dancing and music) and restaurants near el Yunke. You can walk to beach to the left or right and find a bar! Betty was very friendly, responsive and a great host. The place had everything we needed. Bettys place was very clean and well equipped with towels and linens and kitchen supplies. We enjoyed it and will be back again.

Rebecca was so attentive and responsive. The most I liked was the view and was peaceful, heard the sound of the waves, loved it. The apt was dated but overall I loved it and would stay again due to tranquility and peaceful.

We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning again on our next trip to PR. Good, central location for everything so that was very convenient. The view from the balcony is also pretty and the apartment was clean and had amenities. Thanks Noel!

The place was exactly as described, you could walk to the beach, chairs, umbrella, and cooler was amazing to have and be able to take to the beach. Would definitely come back!
