House holiday rentals in Matlock Bath

We had a lovely time staying at the Old Angel with a large group of women. The sheer number of bathrooms was super handy with the large group number, and the living and dining spaces were super functional for a group of our size. There is a one half freezer and a large fridge, which Nicola had left some treats in which was a lovely touch. Bedrooms were well organised and very clean, with towels provided. There’s a village shop right next door, and a pub 20 meters away which was glorious in the May sunshine. Nicola and her team were very helpful in response to any questions/feedback we we had - overall we had a lovely stay and I would recommend this place to others!

We had a wonderful stay at the Farmhouse - the postcode took us to the farm, but the cottages were close by and easy to find. The kitchen was very well stocked with crockery and there was plenty of space for 10. The kids loved the swimming pool and football field. Highly recommended.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. The space is great and as an extra bonus, you get to use a heated pool and brilliant games room. We went early Jan and there was loads of snow, as well as pretty cold temperatures, but the house warmed up very quickly and we were always more than comfortable. The property is close enough to Bakewell for a short drive or taxi ride, should you want to venture into town. We're thinking about going back in the summer.

What a wonderful stay at Manor Farm. The house was beautiful, well maintained, extremely spacious and very comfortable. The surrounding countryside was stunning, with great food being served in nearby pubs and plenty of places to visit. Great space for youngsters too, with the wildlife - baby rabbits, sheep and birds and of course the swimming pool and games room, all of which they loved. Thanks to the hosts for their welcome and hospitable atmosphere.

Great value for money. Can't stress enough how friendly and reliable the staff were. We had a lovely week stay, the house was clean, the beds were comfy and the scenery was perfect. We were informed of the booking system for the swimming pool and games room, so you could have the room to yourself which was great. The pool was clean, the games room was kept tidy and the house surroundings were really lovely to walk around. You can tell the grounds were well maintained and kept in good shape as the workers never stopped, but were always so friendly. This property is perfect for bike riders, walkers and pub crawlers. You couldn't get bored.

We had a lovely 2 night family break at Peacock Barn over October half term. It's a beautiful property with fantastic amenities and perfectly located for exploring the many sites and activities the area has to offer. The swimming pool and games room provided the children with a space to play and have fun which was a key factor for choosing this property. The garden was great for our dog providing plenty of space to run around and secure, providing peace of mind. It would be the perfect spot to enjoy during the summer months. We will definitely be returning. Thanks for having us!

This place was fantastic. Beautiful renovation of a chapel. Our kids absolutely loved the large jacuzzi and I loved the sauna. It’s a pity we spend just the one night Would recommend highly.

Vernon House is a lovely place to stay. It worked well for a group of friends coming together for a reunion. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals for 10 people. The house is well laid out and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed a walk to Chatsworth House along a well marked footpath. Noise from the A6 was most noticeable on Sunday when we sat in the garden. In the house the traffic could not be heard. We were very happy with the house we had chosen for our gathering.

We had a lovely, long weekend stay at Chert cottage. Great Longstone is an excellent location, with several pubs within walking distance. Beautiful scenery is on the doorstep, with places like Bakewell and Buxton a short drive away. Sarah was an excellent host - she was very responsive and we really appreciated the cake, milk and flowers on arrival. Chert cottage itself was great - very clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need - we particularly loved sitting out in the garden in the evening! Many thanks Sarah, we had a great time.

Myself, my partner and our dog had a wonderful few days at Bridgefoot cottage, the photos don't do it justice is is bigger than it looks and so cosy. the garden is such a gem our dog loved it, fully enclosed and the hot tub was perfect after a long walk in the morning. Cottage itself was pristine, full of character and had everything we needed so we didn't need to contact the host for anything additional but I'm sure he would have been quick to help if we needed it. We cooked most nights but did order from the Indian (menu in the welcome book) which was a lovely change, we also walked into Calver and had some cake from the cafe there next to the Spar shop which was delicious. Great location with lots of beautiful walks nearby, one starting over the bridge and another if you turn left out of the cottage and continue down the lane you will pass through sheep fields and find yourself at Froggat woods. It truly felt like a home away from home and we would love to return in the future

This is a lovely cottage ideally placed to explore places of interest in the area. Jon always responded promptly to any queries, and the jar of homemade jam he left for us was a nice touch.

We stayed at Gemma’s property for two nights and had a wonderful time. The property is spacious and clean with lovely views and was very quiet and peaceful. We both slept really well, the bed is very comfortable. The house is well stocked with everything you need to cook and also plenty of games for entertainment. Additionally, the property is in a great location with a very short walk to Matlock Bath high street, the Cable cars and also the train station, where the train into Matlock is just two minutes. Gemma was always quick to respond and really helpful throughout our stay. Overall we had an excellent time and would stay again in future. Thank you Gemma!

We've just spent a great week exploring and walking this part of the Peak District - staying at Peter's wonderful home Saunters in Darley Dale. Everything about Saunters is perfect - perfect location, quiet and peaceful with wonderful views across the countryside from the lounge and conservatory. Saunters provides a spacious and comfortable home in which to relax and unwind.

Had a wonderful stay at The Yoga Studio. The place was clean, well-managed and easily accessible . The hospitality was outstanding, the host Kat even came in person to make sure everything was okay. Truly appreciated.

The best air b n b we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a lot of places. I would recommend this over and over again and have done already and we have only been home a few hours! Just beautiful. A tastefully renovated chapel with elegant furnishings and heaps of character. The well-equiped kitchen was a pleasure to cook in and we had lots of fun with the board games and cards provided. Ashford is a picturesque village with great dining and drinking options. A perfect spot for our family reunion.

We had a lovely family stay at Green Acres. The location provides a wonderful base for exploring the local area, there are lots of cycling and walking routes on your doorstep. The High Peaks Trail is literally at the end of the garden and definitely worth exploring. The hosts were very welcoming and were on hand to answer any questions. Thank you for a brilliant stay.

Olive Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. Amanda is a friendly host who responds to messages quickly and provided some lovely recommendations of things to do and get paces to eat. The cottage was as lovely as it is in the photos and super clean, the little welcome basket and milk in the fridge was a lovely touch and we throughly enjoyed our stay here.

Our stay at Sunshine Cottage was absolutely wonderful! The cottage itself is beautiful, and it's clear a lot of thought has gone into making it pretty, comfortable, and full of everything you need for a fantastic stay. We truly appreciated all the thoughtful touches. Wirksworth and surrounding areas are incredibly charming, offering plenty to explore and enjoy. Great place for a family of four (plus a dog). A short walk into Matlock town centre and a great base to explore the Peaks. There was ample parking on the road directly opposite and the house was very well-equipped.

We were on a work trip to Chatsworth, but The Ballroom made us want to return for a holiday. The space is large, light, and full of historic character. I wish we'd had time to make use of all the wonderful books and games available, but we did enjoy the views and the land, much of which the owners are rewilding and turning organic which is right up our street. We especially appreciated all the eco products used in the house too. There are lots of thoughtful little touches and these made us feel comfortable and welcome. The car charging facility is a huge bonus and showers with endless hot water and great pressure is a luxury! Lovely people and a lovely space for unwinding.

We've had a lovely stay at Hopping Cottage. Emma was proactively communicating with clear instructions and we felt she would have resolved any issue quickly if we had any. We found the location of the cottage very convenient, easy to access, private, secure with breathtaking surroundings and views. You can't really walk to town from the cottage but nearby towns are just a short drive away (even large grocery shop). There are countless trails to do. The hot tub is definitely a lovely perk, we enjoyed it very much. Emma kindly sent a short video that was easy to follow for instructions in terms of how to use it. The cottage was spotless and lovely, you will find everything you need without having too much "stuff" around. We were also given fresh eggs upon arrival which was a very nice touch and made a lovely breakfast for all of us. We also had a small dog with us, the field belonging to the cottage was very handy indeed. Thank you, Emma, we'll definitely consider staying again.

We had a family emergency before we arrived, Harrison helped us check in early and was extremely helpful with exactly what we needed. He even helped us source further and alternate accomodation for us after our stay. Hugos Barn itself is stunning, in a great location and very private! super clean and I would highly recommend both the accomodation and the host! 10/10
