Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Matlock

Vernon House is a lovely place to stay. It worked well for a group of friends coming together for a reunion. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals for 10 people. The house is well laid out and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed a walk to Chatsworth House along a well marked footpath. Noise from the A6 was most noticeable on Sunday when we sat in the garden. In the house the traffic could not be heard. We were very happy with the house we had chosen for our gathering.

The showers (which is what you’ve actually came to read the reviews for) were top-notch—powerful, hot, and exactly what you need after a long day of exploring. Beyond that, the accommodation exceeded all expectations. It was even more spacious than the photos suggested, set within beautiful grounds that provided plenty of room to unwind. The location was ideal, with easy access to stunning walks and local attractions. Oliver was an outstanding host, always quick to respond and incredibly accommodating with all my messages. His attentiveness made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located getaway in the Peak District!

We had an absolutely perfect stay in this lovely house. This is easily the best AirBnB we have ever stayed at. It is comfortable and clean and has everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. Penny was a superb host who was welcoming and helpful. I hope we can stay again if we are ever in the area.

Richard's place has a lovely blend of feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere yet being only a 15 drive into thriving Buxton. It was warm, comfortable and a great size for a family get-together, with some amazing walks literally on your doorstep. We can all genuinely say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Absolutely beautiful cottage and was made to feel at home. Perfect location for a relaxing few days, and the dog loved the secure garden. Cottage was homely inside and had all the necessary amenities, the milk and brownies were a lovely added touch. Will definitely return, cannot fault it. Sarah was also lovely and very friendly and helpful.

The house was beautiful, and if possible exceeded our expectations. We were blessed with weather much better than that predicted, and were therefore able to take advantage of the close proximity of the property to Bakewell town, the Monsal Trail and enjoy the views from the patio at the property. We look forward to visiting again.

Our stay was nothing more than amazing . We felt at home and had everything we needed ,Wendy and her husband was fantastic hosts , so friendly and helpful . We was visiting chartwell house and Wendy’s house was a perfect stay over I would 100% recommend staying here .

Fantastic location, proactive host, a great stay!

Beautiful apartment right in the centre of Castleton! Lots of restaurants/pubs, small convenience shops, and amazing views right on your doorstep. Marieanne was so friendly and always responsive, and the apartment was very clean and comfortable. Definitely will have to visit again next time we’re in Castleton!

The stay at the loft was beautiful, it felt very cosy and homey there. Check in was easy and Nick was great at responding!

I had an absolute incredible experience at Denise’s place, from the moment I arrived, everything was spotless, stylish and thoughtfully prepared. Check-in was easy. The space itself was better than the photos- beautifully decorated and cozy. The bed was super comfy and I appreciated all the little touches that made it feel homely. I couldn’t ask for a better experience and would certainly return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend this little gem for anyone visiting the area.

Great stay and Jayne was very helpful.

Only stayed here for one night but it was great. Easy walk to restaurants and shops which were close by. The apartment was clean and tidy with a nice character to it. Definitely worth it fir the money only downside was parking but thats expected for the location.

We were visiting Buxton for 2 shows at the Opera House & the apartment is perfectly placed for this, being just a few minutes walk away, also the Pavilion Gardens and loads of places to eat & drink. Apartment is beautifully furnished and very well-equipped with pretty, sunny little cottage-style garden to front. The main bedroom is lovely, really comfortable bed. Our friend stayed in the basement bedroom and did comment that it was cold BUT he was very warm and comfortable once in bed. Wish we had stayed longer, if only to take advantage of the huge selection of dvds and books 😊. Thankyou, Heather, Kim and Lorna for a really great (too short) stay.

We had a lovely stay and Sally was a great host. The apartment was clean and tidy with clear instructions. The location is great and we could have happily stayed longer. We plan to book again!

Had an amazing time at Holmdene in the Peak District. was perfectly located for all the walking and trips/tours we wanted to do in Castleton. Charlotte & Stuart were wonderful hosts who greeted us warmly on arrival and Charlotte gave us a detailed chat on all the walks we could do tho we didn't get to experience all of them in our short stay due to weather. We had a lovely evening in the pod with friends and we felt very at home in the apartment which was spotless and well equipped for all our needs and we would highly recommend Holmdene to anyone looking to stay in Castleton. we will definitely be back for more visits. We stayed here for a weekend away as a group of school mates all turning 30. The property was the perfect base for us, providing us with the best possible experience. We’re an active, activity based bunch and this stay had something for everyone. Multiple activities, from the pool table, darts board, table tennis, air hockey, and yes the Pool and Sauna. Many of my friends couldn’t believe just what we had found for this stay. Private use of the pool is a great bonus. All beds were made, fresh linens and towels provided. We used the kitchen to cook our breakfast each morning. There’s ample parking for 3-4 vehicles inside and plenty on street right next to the property, which is a quiet street so not a stress. Whilst the decor is aged, we are not particular on this and found it added to the charm. Plenty of beds, bathrooms and spots to relax. We would stay again! The host was fantastic in communication and response to questions posed and made the whole process easy.

Great place to stay- spacious, off road parking, great location and all the amenities of a home. David was great - all the communication was quick and easy. We’ll be back.
