Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

It is perfect for a Romantic getaway that offers peace, tranquility and privacy. Brand new Queen size bed and new queen size sofa bed. An amazing place to stay. The space provided includes access to a full kitchen, full bathroom, one bedroom, and two living areas. If access to any other amenities please do not be afraid to ask. Great access to walking trails, hiking, kayaking, swimming and beach combing. A 5 min drive or a 20 min walk will bring you to the arts and crafts studios, local grocery shops, gas station, realestate offices, insurance, bakery, pizza truck, restaurants, liquor store and the local pub.

Dinner Bay Private Cottage

The cottage is situated on 14 acres surrounded by forests but with views of the ocean. It has a huge deck where hammocks (which are provided) can be hung and a full size hot tub is nestled in the rocks. It is very private but still easily accessible to the ocean. We recently installed a new hot tub with lots of different jets, lights and seating. It is quite amazing!

Perfect location, amazing view, and very quiet. The only sounds are the waves. What a relaxing start and end to each day. We were treated to whales passing by at dinner and a visit from what appeared to be a sea otter while sitting on the beach. All of this along with Lynn and Brad’s attention to detail and thoughtfulness made this the best Airbnb experience we’ve had. Thank you, we’ll be back!
